LG V20 64GB cannot set text notification. - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I just got a LG v20 Android Version 7.0 Kernel version 3.18.31 and when I go into the default text applicaiton, go to settings and touch "Notifications" nothing happens, I can't get in to change the text notification sound. Any ideas? I've rebooted the phone, dropped the battery and booted up clean. Is there another setting somewhere in Nougat to allow text ringtones to be set?

[Q] G2 Ringtone and Notification Unexpectedly Changing

Stock LG G2.. not rooted...
I use Zedge to download custom ringtones and notification sounds...
My phone has a bad habit of defaulting back to original ringtones that were set up when I originally got the phone.. All I do is open Zegde and re-apply them.
Any Idea what is causing my phone to do this ?

Notifications removed from lockscreen after updating to Lollipop

I noticed that the notification icons in the upper left hand corner of the lockscreen don't show up anymore after updating to Lollipop. On my phone it just says "Sprint" and I asked a co-worker who has a Note 4, and hers says "Verizon Wireless." We know what carriers we have. I would much rather have the notification icons. I looked through the lockscreen settings, but didn't see anything there. Currently I have to unlock my phone, then I can see my notifications. I did verify that I did have a notification which didn't show up on the lockscreen. Maybe it is just not something that we can change with the Lollipop update, apart from rooting it of course.

OP2 Notification Sounds

I had installed a Rom and lost some of the default Notification sounds that came in Oxygen OS. Specifically I'm looking for one called "Knock."
Can someone pull the notification and post it here for me? (or the entire set of notification sounds). I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I do not seem to be able to find a notification tone configurable called 'Knock' on my OPT w/ OxygenOS 2.1.1.
Trying to find the same!
Hrm, really? Maybe I got the name wrong. Could someone zip up their notification folder and upload it somewhere? It would be much appreciated.

Alarms and notifications change by themselves at Exactly 6 a.m every day.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910F (International) and every morning at 6 a.m exactly there is a buzz on my phone, I check it and this is what I find:
The ringtone has been changed from my custom one to over the horizon (Samsumg default) my notification has been changed from my own to Samsung default whistle, email notification sounds changed to default, and system and notification sounds all the way down from almost max.
I have seen lots of people complaining about tones being changed on the note 4 but never at a specific time.
If I change everything back at 0601 then all is OK till 6 the next morning.
My software is Samsung standard 5.1.1 but rooted.
I have tried experimenting with media folder in different locations currently in 0, on internal SD. The default system picker is able to find my tones and set them without a problem.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
I have had the same problem with my Samsung Android devices for the past several years. It is very frustrating. My devices are rooted and this is the only thing that bugs me. In my case, my notification sounds are always set to default after a reboot. It seems that the locked Samsung bootloaders have a way of setting the default notification sounds to default no matter what.
The solution : is to unlock the bootloader and probably rewrite a script or erase the malady script that is re setting the default tones upon reboot.

The solution to the problem of the phone always reverting back to its default notification sounds is due to not copying the sound files into the default notification folder in the system.
I did a search for "Notification" in my file explorer and copied all of the sound files I downloaded with ZEDGE into the default folder for notifications on my device. I think you have to be rooted to do this, although I am not positive about that.

Actually, disregard this post. I still have not found a way for my custom notification to stick after a reboot.
Despite having carried out the afore mentioned actions.

Add an icon to home screen when installing a new app from Play Store

My V20 is an H918 on 8.0.0 My previous android phones would automatically add an icon to the home screen when installing a new app. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing?

Click to collapse
That setting is usually under settings in the playstore itself. Should be a box to check near Auto update ect.
