can any one tell me how to solve the heating issue.and battery drain problem.
currently i am on stock latest rom.
i tried cm13 also but not fixed.
and dont know about Unofficial cm14, how much it is stable?
What do you mean with heating issue and battery drain.
- Provide logs,
- post pics of battery drain,
- show us what is draining your phone how much,
- how long your battery last on what use? low moderate high?
- How hot your phone get, use program measure temp and show us logs
- Etc Etc. provide more info overall, this is purelly asked
The heating issue had been there on the 2 since the very beginning. In Fact its not the phone's error, the problem is with the Snapdragon 810 processor. It is prone to overheating.
Regarding the battery drain however, can't comment without more info. Sorry.
One could say, the backside of having a powerful CPU in your device is that if you have apps going haywire, you will get a lot of heat and poor battery time. ?

hi,
In the last few weeks, I've had an unexplained battery drain. I checked for wakelocks and just running apps, and didn't find the culprit. It was just draining a lot while on idle although it does sleep. I tried installing a better kernel (Ultimate Unleashed Kernel) , I did some UV and dropped the min cpu freq to 81MHz. It did help a bit but not much.
And then I realized that it drains like that only when I am working, I travel to work and keep my phone in my pocket which makes it pretty hot, and then also at work I keep it in my pocket all the time and it's still warm.
Since I ran out of options, could this be the problem?
I am attaching some screenshots of my battery usage on s typical working day, please note the SOT, on a regular day I could get some 3.5 hours.
Thanks.

battery is all about how you use the device, how you set it up, what apps you use, and very much the quality of your phone/data signal. if your signal is no good, then your battery will always be no good. battery has nothing to do with what kernel you use. and undervolting dpesnt really help battery.
Changing kernels And undervolting do help in improving battery life, as for the heating problem even I have faced it many times, for me the reason was continuous use of 3G network and if the signal is weak then it would cause the device to heat up. Try limiting the network and data usage and see if it helps
Also try under clocking the CPU all this should help your battery life
my sgs4 android 6.0 cm13 consumes battery in an excessive way and i can not understand the problem you can help me???
the percentages of the battery consumption are:
miscellaneous: 8%
screen: 2%
browser: 1%
androis os: 1%
the battery lasts about 2 hours

You should mention how it was before the Flash... Is this just cm13 related or did the phone is more power consuming in general .. Or Is some app lagging the phone, wakelock issue or something. Is the Rom running smooth? Take a System Monitor and watch the apps for which one is lagging. Check the Cpu Load and Core Clocks, if its high value, or maybe its some bug that only cm13 insiders know...
Be aware that cm has horrible battery drain on the s4, but this isn't ROM related. Use better battery stats, that'll help you learn what's causing the drain

Have you fixed it!?
My battery used to reach 6h screen on time with no problem. Now since latest update it gets about 5 which is no bad but still less than before. And on consumption list, software section is always higher, at least 60% and hardware about 30%. Before hardware was always higher or at leaat 50-50 so I think latest update is not good at managing apps consumption.
Any idea?
Hi,
After upgrading to Oreo (LON-L29 8.0.0.366(C432)) I'm experiencing very heavy battery drain. I would estimate it's somewhere between 30 - 50% worse than the battery performance with Nougat.
According to the android 8 battery usage information, the 'Phone' application (ver 5.0.0.1) is one of the main culprits - it drained from 100% down to 64% in an overnight test environment with no human interaction and all (possible) apps set to not run in the background.
Amazed they released this with a glaring performance drop.
Anyone else experience this poor battery performance?
Has anyone downgraded to Nougat due to this?
cheers

Have the same Firmware on mine and no battery drain.
Sent from my LON-L29 using XDA Labs
Exactly the same issue on Huawei P10 Plus. App "Phone 5.0.0.1" is causing havoc with battery.
Well after a lot of headscratching it seems the issue was that the 'phone' application is buggy when the sim card is installed in slot 2, and slot one is empty.
I had my sim card in slot 2 - moved it to slot 1 and rebooted - battery life is better than ever and the 'phone' application is back to using minimal power.
I know one plus 2 has aged very well but I always have soft side to 1+2. Now since I Switch backed to 1+2. I Experience battery drain ( Max SOT 2.3-3Hours) and gets heated like hell. Will Replacement of battery will do any good? Just tweaking kernel is only option? What's the average SOT you guys get?
2.3-3h SOT is not that bad, a new battery will give you one more hour maybe. The heating problem is normal on op2, it's because of the snapdragon 810.
I personally get 3-4 hours of SOT depending on what apps I'm using.
You may try another rom for more battery, also bluebolt kernel is giving good battery life.
