[Q] Tab won't boot up after flashing with Odin

Hi,
did a flash of the JM4 firmware (P1000DXJM4_P1000DXJM2_P1000OLBJM1) using Odin (v1.7). Flashing of the firmware works fine and the upload was completed. However, the GTab did not reset automatically (i saw that the screen went blank for a second and then once again the downloading screen is shown). After i unplug the USB and then manually rebooted it, it is stuck at the Samsumg screen and won't proceed further.
Is there something that i've done wrong? i've placed a check on the "re-partition", "auto-reboot" and "F. reset time" on the Odin.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Turn the tab OFF and reboot in recovery : Power button + Volume UP . It will finish loading the CSC files and it should then reboot fine.
P_
Thanks.
Think i've screwed up my Tab big time. After recovery, it still doesn't show the CSC and the PDA version. What is shown is the Phone version which is "XXJMA". That's not going to work for me as i'm from Asia.
i'm going to try and flash it again.
In the meantime, anybody can think of anything to help me out, i'll greatly appreciate it.
From the look of that rom name......
Congratulation!! You are most likely have Protected Boot Loader and SBL now ^^
As I recall when I flash my second TAB with that firmware i have the same problem and I solved it by flashing Roto's JME (the one that format your SD card too).
Hi all,
i've managed to solve this problem by doing a few mix and matching. Currently my version (*#44336#) is showing:-
PDA1000DXJM4
Phone1000ZHJL1
CSC:Unknown
i see i don't have a CSC. Does it matter? Also, my reader hub is not working. Its giving me "Service Unavailable (4002)" (im sure i have internet connection, so connection problem is out).
Now the reason why i need to mix and match or update in the first place is this: my old version of JK2 firmware has a problem of not being able to connect to my exchange server using the native email client. So i did an upgrade using Odin. This somehow screwed up my versioning and everything else.
Thanks.

Did you terminate Kies in windows task manager? Kies can cause Odin to fail!
Ups. No. I will try this right now

You should do firmware writes with a notebook or UPS, a power interruption while writing critical system files can cause all kinds of damage.
Unfortunately you didn't provide much detail for us to work with. Not even a screenshot or photograph of what you see on the screen of your phone now or the log from Odin or Kies. Even your thread title didn't convey any useful information.
Pull your phone battery. Then try to enter download mode by pressing and holding the volume down key, then the home key, then the power key. Then try to flash a full, stock firmware image and proper PIT file concurrently. If you run into any difficulties, give a detailed description of what you tried, the Odin log and a photo of the phone screen.
More than likely it's recoverable. Despite the lack of details in your post, your stumbling block is probably that you aren't using a PIT file to correct (likely) partition damage that occurred during your power interruption.

I resolved my problem. I just flashed the pit file only with repartition checked in Odin and after that my phone just came alive. No need to flash full firmware. Thanks for help to you and everyone!

Soft Bricked (SM-G530W)

I was trying to upate the SUBinary and it told me to reboot. As soon as I did I get a message saying "Custom Binary Blocked by FRP" and a red text saying "Secure Fail : Kernal" help me.
It has something to do with your Google account being logged into the phone.. samsung can send signal to reset it but they won't if it's been rooted etc still trying to make sure reflash omg the phone with original rom would make it worse or not. Or maybe just reflash in the kernal. I'm on t mobile but can only find original rom on t mobile same network but we will see. I'm on my fiance a accident messaging from her phone lol or maybe just reflash the kernal the whole problem for me is I don't have a computer to try to reflash from what someone told me I may try to reflash with odin 3.90 with a tar file to the exact model number

This is the best and quick fix for FRP Lock
...Just follow the link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/help/custom-binary-blocked-frp-t3266961/page3
Worked for my SM-G530W
I had the same problem, and i used Kies3 (not compatible with my phone anyway), but if you go on toolbar to "TOOLS", "Firmware Upgrade and initialisation", it asks you for your device model (for mine i typed SM-G530W, and then it asks you for device serial number (S/N) found under the battery by the IMEI number. After this, follow on screen prompts (Restart your device in Download mode/ PDA, connect USB cable, etc), and let the software download and install (factory rom); After your device restarts, you are good to go (sometimes if it gets stuck on booting, remove battery for few second and start again.) Now you have to go back and set up everything you want, including re-rooting your device... Good luck. (My device is Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530W Factory unlocked rom, Android 5.11.

Stuck on Samsung Logo Odin and Wipe done

Hi, I recently became a Galaxy S6 Edge+ as a gift, which is stuck on the Samsung Logo (blinking). I am not new to flashing Firmware and Roms (came from the HTC HD2 and Dell Streak 5), but everything I do, I can not come through this. Now I need your help, since it's my first Samsung device. Maybe I have something forgotten?
My device:
SM-G928F with Regional Code AUT (free Switzerland firmware) --> Also Samsung Smart Switch shows me this AUT Version (but it wont recognize it, shows it after typing in the serial)
What have I done:
Samsung Smart Switch does not recognize it.
The last 24 hours I have downloaded the firmware through SamFirm 4 times, I have flashed the phone via Odin about 8 times, after the flashs I have wiped the cache and resettet data (full wipe) through the recovery. One time, the phone came to the android optimatization, but it was stuck on the last app (was 30 minutes on this), after reboot it was stuck on the Samsung logo.
Now I need your help. What can I do further? Do I missed something? Any ideas?
Something strange I noticed: When the phone is off and I plug it in to the wall, the battery drains. I have to put the phone to Download-Mode to charge it. Is it linked to the firmware problem? The charger is original Samsung.
So, I flashed TWRP, the Note7 Deodexed Rom and SkyHigh kernel, but it's the same... any sugestions?
I read about a pit file, what is that? May be this the solution?
What I did the last 3 houers was to test Smart Switch With the mac version, the rescue function did not work, the hole program crashed each time. On the windows version it suceed, but my phone is showing just the blinking Samsung logo. Every now and then it vibrates, but nothing happens, so I am at the start of the problem again. Any ideas?
Next update: I flashed the original firmware with a pit file 3 minutes ago. I learned a lot, learnt that the pit files are the partition-files. Now I'm hoping, that with the new partitions it will boot properly :good: . Stay tuned!
Still the same issue. Please help me
Whenever I start the Recovery, it says "installing system update" and then there is a dead Android, does this matter?
A 4 part firmware with pit file did not help. I downloaded another Firmware from another source, also the same. Now I will do a downgrade and look, if this helps. Pleeeeease, help me!
Infos from the download mode:
Produkt Name: SM-G928F
CA_Type: CA_3
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System status: Custom
Secure Download: Enabled
Know warrenty void: 1 (0x0203)
RP SWREV: B:3 K:0 S:1
Maybe the TWRP Log helps: There are errors in writing, is there something missing? It is the original firmware, with the newest TWRP and SuperSU installed. Still stuck on Samsung (animated) logo.
Listen do you have windows on ur mac i use parallels
but do you have windows anyhoe

Hello,
I'm quite new here, but not with flashing.
My son got an S6 Edge plus too, with almost the same problem.
I tried also almost anything, the last few days.
ADB sideload, Odin several versions.
It started out with FRP lock.
After I tried al I could find I think it bricked.
And now it is in the state as described above.
Only first screen and draining the battery if not in download mode.
And when I put it on USB cable it says: "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
But Smart Switch doesn't recognise the phone!
I can however get the phone in download mode by pushing vol. down, power and home and then vol up.
But in Odin only works: Pit, CP and CSC.
With AP and BL I get errors and fails.
Please help?
For me AP and BL works with Odin. I am a step furhter now. First I flashed with the option: Erase All Nand. Then I installed TWRP and a made a repair for the System and the Caches partitions. With SuperSU installed, and the caches wiped (manual, dalvik and normal caches), it says "Android is starting, Optimizing Apps" and then "Androis is starting, Starting Apps" on a blue screen and when it loads to the end, it is stuck there.
.You get only the first Samsung S6 Edge+ Screen? Then the system files are missing, there is no OS to start (flashed with AP in Odin). Your flash problem sound quite strange. Did you test another cable?
If you want to do it with Smart Switch, the phone should be in download mode. I also had to try it several times. Did you installed the drivers?
@ KatariaMax: I have Windows and Mac PCs, no Parallels. Does it work with Parallels?
So, one problem less. With the Audax rom and kernel, the phone charges normally (but not with Quickcharge), so I don't have to put the phone to download mode. But here is the same problem, after "starting apps" it is stuck. I will do a log from the install, maybe this helps.
@ HugoGroot: Maybe the second post could be the solution for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/s6-bricked-t3497687
I read about Sony devices, which are in a bootloop because of the battery. Could this be possible also for Samsung devices? I have bought a battery, just to be sure. Any other suggestions?
I found the problem here: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Continuous-Restart-and-Optimizing-Apps/td-p/1020656

Wrong firmware.
I had my original SM-J510MN bricked last night because I tried to install a corrupt or incompatible TWRP image on it, so, in the way all through the hell I did the following:
1. There is no information on Google about this exact machine (MSM8960).
2. I messed up with SmartSwitch PC Software piece of junk by reinstalling the driver which never worked, provided by its own SmartSwitch option menu.
3. That driver installed before was never going to work because you have to boot Windows 7 in a way to avoid signed drivers checking (Pressing F8 at boot).
4. After research I found out that I had to downgrade the SmartSwitch version to a one with the enabled tab "Device initialization".
5. Finally, I had the driver and a correct SmartSwitch version just to realize I had to type the Model name of my device in UPPERCASE because those Samsung engineers didn't realize a normal user may be would type in lowercase ().
6. I typed the S/N (serial number) located on the backside of the phone and I got the message "Please check the model name and S/N, and enter them again". I triple checked the inserted values, to this point I was feeling I'm totally lost.
7. I downloaded at least 10 Gibibytes (Gigabytes but in the right terms) in stock ROMs which none of them worked for multiple and different reasons.
So this beautiful COVID-19 lockdown morning I woke up inspired thanks Jehovah God and I just tried the old way to inspect this whole site by using Google like this: "site:xda-developers.com j510mn" and I found a compatible fully working TWRP that I flashed using Odin v3.14.1 and then the phone booted normally.
While I was looking for a custom ROM then I didn't realize the WiFi stopped working so I am looking for a solution.
2020-06-06
To bring the Wi-Fi back to my device I had to flash LineageOS 14.1, and then you will be able to flash any custom ROM you may find.
I hope this helps, greetings from Colombia.

When you open your device hold power button + Down volume + home button and flash the stock ROM, its a soft brick, not hard brick. J510MN is fully compatible with every version of TWRP.

OK, sorry for not having been that explicit, but I'm going to be right now:
Last night I had a useless phone...
satisfied?
does your correction help in any way? does that help with the initial post at all? is there any difference between hard and soft bricked that could help on that?

I mean, 3.2 and 3.3 versions of TWRP support MN
