Canbus information app like 'vehicle' - Android Head-Units

Hello dear friends,
I'm coming straight to the point. I own a VW Golf MK5 and a Pumpkin MTCC/B HU with canbus cable connected.
There is an app called Vehicle, which provides quite interesting information about the gas tank, RPM etc. All those informations are provided by the canbus decoder.
I figured, if those information can be provided, there may be an app that has interesting functions, like animated gauges etc.
You guys may know some apps for that, that's why I'm asking. I'd be very interested in them and so are probably a lot of people (even if they don't know it yet ), so thanks in advance.
Have a great day
PS. No ODB2 Connection, just Canbus cable (The one that can be used with the steering wheel buttons)

Could you upload the apk file of that vehicle app

You need an odb2 adapter (Bluetooth or wifi) plugged into your cars odb2 port, then you can use apps such as torque to give live engine data via dials. If you have a front camera you can use caroo pro this also gives live data as well as drive recording.

I'm not familiar with this particular device, but one mostly common part of the architecture for all of these Android radios is the use of an MCU board to control things external to the android box (think power supply, backup camera, analog radio, the bluetooth HFP, etc). These items are not actually 'visible' to the android system in any 'normal' way.
The Android box communicates with the MCU through modifications to the kernel (typically some type of virtual serial port/channel) and through the 'native' apps on the headunit. Unfortunately, none of the manufacturers have open sourced their code, so outside of smali hacking, your not likely to get access to any of this.
And even if you pulled the APK that does this feature, it wouldn't work on any other radio outside of the MTC universe.

Of course. It's in the attachment.

That is sure correct. There may be still apps out there though, that are communicating with those signals. That was my actual wish, to find those.
But if my request looks hopeless, I want to thank you for the responses.

Would like to know this too! I would like to readout the mileage and oil level and send it to a webinterface...

I did some searching myself. I tried to readout the serial ports with 'busybox microcom'.
I got this text. About 10 rows per second added to this log:

I could not find my mileage or something useful... Does anyone know what to do with this code? Maybe its encoded?

Okay, need to decypther that anymore. It seems like this is raw GPS data ... So it's not ttyS3... What could it be?
There are some lines in the Dmesg log saying things about CAN. Could that be it?

Hi,
The serial interface used for the CAN integration is ttyV0. At least on my device, an MTCD - sofia3gr_car_64 (intel based CPU imho).
I'm also interested in interfacing the CAN bus with the head unit's built-in CAN interface. As it allows for integration of all sort of apps visualizing vehicle data. As i'm new here i can not start a dedicated developer thread now - maybe later on
Analyzing the MTCCanbus system app of my device showed that it opens ttyV0 with 38,4kBd. Obviously to communicate with the CAN hardware layer (implemented in the MCU).
[..] .openSerialPort("/dev/ttyV0", 38400); [..]
Next step is to sniff this port for the interface protocol among CPU (android) and the MCU (the MCU is a 8051 derivate as far as i learned somewhere?).
I am wondering if the CANopen interpretation, i.e. which COB IDs corresponds to which funtionality is in the MCU or in the CPU:
That is either the MCU has to know all the vehicle dependent stuff (because all the COBs are by no means standardized among the manufacturers!) and tells the CPU already meta information such as "AIR condition set to 21 degs C" via the serial interface.
OR the MCU gathers only the CAN frames and forwards them to the CPU via the serial interface. And the CPU does the vehicle dependent interpretation.
In the 2nd case we could implement all sort of custom stuff easily. E.g.: I am particularly interested in displaying the information of the original radio as my android head unit only replaces the original LCD whereas the original radio unit remains in the vehicle.
In the 1st case we are dependent on the MCU implementation, i.e which CAN messages (identifiers) are filtered out by the MCU and which ones are passed on to the CPU.
But from the very brief glance which I yet had at the CANBus app implementation I somehow got the feeling that the MCU does all the vehicle dependent stuff..

Hi Michael,
Thank you for addressing this topic. I have a PX5 MTCD_MX 8-Core Head Unit, which is, apart from my original head unit, my second Aftersale Head Unit by the way, and I would like find an app which is capable to show specific CANBUS information of my car, which is a late SEAT Leon 2014 Model (2015) by the way.
My first OEM Head Unit was a RoadNav S160 RK3188 with Android 4.4.4. With that unit I was able to see specific CANBUS information of my SEAT Leon. That was the only feature I really liked about RoadNav S160. Perhaps because Android 4.4.4 had it's limitations. My SEAT Leon uses the same CANBUS interface as the Golf 7.
My PX5 MTCD_MX 8-Core Head Unit came with Android 6.0.1. and that was the main reason I bought this head, because I'd expected that the manufacturers were able to extract more specific car information from the CANBUS. Unfortunately, at this moment Imust conclude that my PX5 shows lesser specific car information that the RoadNav S160.
I hope that you or other members of this community will develop an App, which is capable to show CANBUS information on the Head Unit, without having to use the OBD2 Port. If the RoadNav S160 with Android 4.4.4 is capable to do this, I'm sure that it is possible for the present developers to retrieve the same information from the CANBUS and display it on the PX5 Head Unit.
Cheers.
Carlo

As I said, the CAN bus protocol, i.e. the messages on the vehicles CAN bus(ses) are heavily manufacturer specific. It depends on the head unit developer and their "research" (reverse engineering) on the manufacturers protocols how extensively your vehicle is supported.
Fortunately for you, already a lot of "research" had been done for the VW group vehicles.
What you possibly can participate in here in the forum (know-how / apps) will heavily depend on what brand the potential "researchers / developers" drive and thus focus their "research" on.
Regarding the "built-in" CAN solution of our MTCx head units I fear, that the vehicle specific part is coded within the MCU and thus not as easy to extend as an android app ;(
But before I learned, that those china HUs (MTCx) have such extensive CAN support on board I already had a plan for custom CAN bus support on android based devices. This plan "B" could still be of interest to implement vehicle specific solutions, which the head units MCU gateway does not support:
There is a small, cheap, custom made CAN / USB gateway "USBtin" by Thomas Fischl. It converts CAN frames into ASCII representation on a standard virtual serial port (USB serial device). It would occupy one of the USB host interfaces (my device has 2 so it would be ok). The serial device can directly be accessed in android.
E.g.
https://github.com/mik3y/usb-serial-for-android
Btw. the ODB2 adapter is also only a CAN -> serial gateway Regardless whether USB, bluetooth or wifi. Is can do some message interpretation but only for the standardized, emission relevant DIDs. That's what torque etc are using.

I need to take place in here....
My car (Mitsubishi ASX) is not supported by my MTC, so I would be interested in getting information on implementing CAN as complete as possible.

I'm in here too, I own a 2015 Octavia so it should be sane as the Seat Leon and Golf 7. Currently I'm waiting for my Android unit to arrive. But I'm able to sniff the original head unit CAN communication and hope to implement some missing functions in the Android unit. If the interpretation is really done by the MCU then an additional USB<->CAN converter is the way to go.

Installing Joying HU in a BMW 1 series car

I am considering installing a Joying Head unit in a BMW 118i 2008 car and know that interfaces are required to integrate Bluetooth and steering wheel controls, however after much research I can't any information about replacing the existing BMW Professional radio/CD unit which has a MOST bus fibre optic connection which communicates with other modules in the audio system.
Has anyone done a similar conversion and knows what is required to ensure that some existing features, such as parking sensor system, are retained?

Have you asked joying? [email protected]
(Make your mail simple as their English is not too good.)
I assume you also checked the BMW page on their site? It doesn't seem to mention a 118i
Thanks for that surfer63. Yes I have looked at the BMW page and also been in touch with Joying using the [email protected] address. I did get some advice from them, but it was a bit lacking in technical content. I will try the address you gave to see if I get a different response.
Since my original post I have checked out what I've actually got on the car using diagnostic software and the MOST fibre optic bus is only connected between the head unit and the CD Changer at the rear of the car. So as I'm not bothered about keeping the CD Changer I can probably bypass the MOST bus.
There are lots of interfaces on the market for after market head unit integration; most are quite expensive and don't go into much detail of how they work. What I would like to do is get relevant circuit diagram information, buy the separate parts and make up my own interface(s). So if anyone would like to share appropriate information or links in this respect I would be most grateful.

Questions about CAN BUS support

1. Some vendors promote vehicle-specific head units. Are these tuned to the particular vehicle only with regard to hardware components -- e.g., the dash panel and the cable connectors? Or do these head units also have vehicle-specific code for the CAN BUS interface in the MCU?
2. Does a head unit that is NOT tailored to a specific vehicle -- that is, a standard double-DIN form factor unit, with the dash panel and cable connectors left for the buyer to acquire separately -- have a CAN BUS interface that can interpret CAN BUS traffic from many different car manufacturers?
3. Is there a widely-used set of CAN BUS messages that many different car manufacturers support, for example VOLUME UP and NEXT TRACK?
4. Volvo CAN BUS decoding seems to have its special challenges for CAN BUS adapter manufacturers. Do the Android head units support Volvo (in particular the 2005 XC70)?
5. Is there a particular resource I should be consulting for this topic?
How can I access the CAN-Bus connected to the headunit (Rockchip px3 px5) from an Android App?
Is there an CAN Bus Api or something lower level like I2C to Can Controller?

1. Most vendors only have 1-3 units, sometimes depending on CPU, memory, internal Amplifier. The vehicle-specific units have only to do with how you build it into your dashboard. It needs to fit of course. Based on the vehicle type you can have specific CAN buses.
2. The CAN bus is a standardized protocol laid down in the "CAN standard". I know though that VAG (VW/Seat/Skoda/Audi) do have some specifics. I assume all "standard things" like start/stop, parking assist, brakes, tyre pressure, AIRCO, speed, temperature, etc. are all controlled via the "CAN standard".
3. Yes, see 2 and 5.
4. No idea
5. Google , but you could start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus, with all its references and explanations.
There is so much stuff about Can electrical the controllers do, but I can't find message definitions / databases.

New Joying PX5-based Android 8.0 Units - [Rockchip PX5 A53 | Android 8.0 | 4GB RAM]

I installed two different models of Joyings newest PX5-based head units. Both are the 7 inch screen 4GB RAM / 32GB flash double DIN model with flat buttons on the left edge.
Please note that as of May 2018, there appear to be multiple new 4GB / 32GB Joying head units have different internal hardware and are not compatible with each other or with the PX5 2GB Joying head units.
JY-UM128N4PX5 is a QD unit
JY-UO128P4 appears to be an FYT unit
Buyer beware. My recommendation is AVOID the QD based units and seek out the FYT units.

So far I have noticed the following:
The unit does not trigger the amplifier turn on signal wire - the orange and black wire labeled AMP-CONT always measures zero volts on my voltmeter. Workaround is to use either the antenna signal wire, or the ACC power signal wire, to turn on your amp. Joying is aware of this issue.
Sleep does not work. The unit shuts down completely about one minute after you turn off the vehicle's ignition. It doesn't sleep and then come back on instantly like my Intel-based Joying unit. Boot time is about 20 seconds. Joying support now says that sleep is not supported on the QD units.
I cannot find the radio settings in the new radio app. You used to be able to slide the bar at the bottom of the radio app to get to settings. Now in Android 8, there are a couple of radio settings that have been moved to the main android setup dialog.
Some of the functionality of the former car settings app has been moved to the android settings dialog. But not everything is there - for example this is where I was looking for the ability to tell the unit to toggle the amplifier signal wire. I could not find any such setting.
AM radio reception is non-existent - static on all AM channels.
FM reception is good, but I cannot figure out how to get the FM Radio to enable display of song and station information - this used to be under RDS settings, which no longer exist.
Bluetooth calling works fine. Seems more stable than my older Intel-based unit.
Sound quality is good - I am using an external amplifier.
The logo set up is missing Porsche and Saab Logos. My Intel-based Joying unit had these. Easy enough to load my own custom logo.
The unit ships with Joying's "Launcher3" selected. On the home screen, the labels of the bottom row of icons are cut off. The screenshots on Joying's website show the same thing. The joying2 launcher is missing.
If you reflash the unit, the vertical keypad on the left side of the unit gets un-mapped and stops working. Fix is to go into car settings and remap it.

So far I have noticed the following:
The software on the JY-UO128P4 is very close to that of my older Joying Intel based system.
The developer has replaced all of the system settings screens native to android with their own settings screens. Not super cool. All of the car settings and android system setting are now intermingled.
Upon unboxing, the JY-UO128P4 has only a single Wifi antenna wheras the JY-UM128N4PX5 had two (diversity) wifi antennas. I have not tried to compare reception differences.
The amplifier turn on signal now works as expected (AMP-CONT wire correctly signals 12V when unit is active)
Sleep works as expected
AM radio reception works weakly.
The FM radio application works as expected. Radio app settings are accessed within the radio app. It's possible to enable RDS for song and station ID within the radio app.
All of the joying launchers are available - I prefer launcher 02 and it's available on this unit.
Many more car logos are available on the system. Porsche logo was built-in.
The only things I've noticed so far that are worse with the JY-UO128P4 than the JY-UM128N4PX5
The unit suffers from the android 8.0 bug on Joying where all of your google contacts are deleted if you allow your account on the head unit to sync contacts with google.
As noted above - the native android settings panels are all removed.
The app for setting the color of the buttons on the side panel is limited to pre-determined solid colors - yellow, white, red green etc. On the JY-UM128N4PX5 you could select and set any RGB color, which made it possible to match the button illumination to your other dashboard lights.
As I learn more, I will post more.

It came with Android 8.0.0 installed.

The unit does not trigger the amplifier turn on signal wire - the orange and black wire labeled AMP-CONT always measures zero volts on my voltmeter. Workaround is to use either the antenna signal wire, or the ACC power signal wire, to turn on your amp. I found another post of someone else who had this same issue.
I cannot find most of the passwords needed to set up the unit. The master password is 126 - I found that by watching a joying video. But I cannot find the second level passwords for changing the logo, changing the launcher, etc. Anyone have the other passwords?
The utility to change the color of the buttons on the left side of the unit works, but the buttons do not illuminate one the unit is booted.
I cannot find the radio settings in the new radio app. You used to be able to slide the bar at the bottom of the radio app to get to settings. I cannot figure out how to change the launcher - with the default launcher the lower row of app icons is only half visible on the screen.
Who else has a new Joying Android 8 unit - what else are you seeing? Has anyone found solutions to the items above?

I have had several back and forth emails with Joying support in the last couple of days.
They are trying to find the passwords for their new units under Android 8. Support didn't know. They had me try 00000 and 123456, neither of which worked. I told them the main password is 126 - they didn't know this either. I still need passwords for all of the second level settings - change the launcher, change the logo, see if there are more developer options for car config, etc.
They are apparently aware that the AMP-CONT lead to turn on the external amplifier does not work. They recommend connecting the accessory wire from your vehicle to the amp signaling wire instead, so the amp will turn on when you turn your key to the accessory or on position, bypassing the head unit.
They acknowledge there are no detailed settings available for the radio under Android 8 in the radio app. So there is no way to turn on station or channel ID for US customers.
I also let them know about another radio issue - FM Radio reception is normal, but AM reception is awful to non-existent.
Google maps is ok, directions from Google maps are mixing with other audio ok.
Feels like Android 8 on the new Joying 4GB units isn't quite ready for prime time yet... Has anyone tried to upgrade a 2GB Android 6 unit to Android 8 now that the Android 8 files are on Joying's website? Do you see the same behaviors, or am I seeing hardware issue with the brand new 4GB units? I suspect it's all software, but would be nice to know.

The 2GB units are not compatible with the 4GB units. They need different hardware drivers and different MCU firmware as the firmware in the 2GB units is from FYT. I forgot the manufacturer of the 4 GB units but @gtxaspec knows.
There is no downloadable firmware yet for the 2GB units.
hi, i've the same unit and the password was noted into the user manual, it's 3368.
If you buy Joying android 8.0 unit the SKU like:JY-UO135N4PX5 or JY-UOS03N4PX5,password as below:
Master password:126
Password for changing logo:0000
Password for changing UI:8086
TomTom
It seams to be so hard. Again an Android HU, where TomTom navigation does not work. It let's me download the maps, but after that it crashes every time I try to load the application.
I can confirm these passwords are correct:
Master password:126
Password for changing logo:0000
Password for changing UI:8086
Other findings so far:
The illuminated buttons do work - they sometimes take a few seconds to come on after your illumination wire signals with 12V.
The logo selection with this new unit does not include Porsche or Saab. You can still upload your own custom logos.
I updated the unit to the latest (2018-4-20) release on the Joying website which is supposed to include optimizations and Zlink and my unit is now hanging at the Android text logo (right after the animated Android logo). I sent a note to Joying support for help and will also wait for a few hours to see if it comes back to life.

The same happened to me
After writing about 25 emails with Joying support I had to reflash the whole system ... loosing all my data.
For now I am really not going to try any more updates from Joying with this unit.
Really hoping for a Custom Rom & Root for this unit.
I have one of these as well. Any one find where the setting is to make the sleep mode last longer(2hrs) before it full shuts down? it seems to be locked on 30sec currently. Also it wont pair with my OBDlinkMX BT dongle. in the older MTCD units, making the BT password 1234 let you do it, but not here. anyone have any luck with BT OBD dongle pairing?
I was really leaning towards getting this unit but have been holding off because I wish it had Bluetooth 5.0, maybe I should wait a little longer since it seems to have a fair amount of bugs. I know a lot of people are happy with the Xtron since it has all the best features I just really prefer to have the buttons on the left like this unit has. Looking forward to seeing if you guys can get this squared away

I was able to get my unit working again by reflashing. It took about 10 tries with three different USB cards but it finally worked. Joying support provided a file that included a system image and a Window-based chinese language USB card writing programs, along with a word document with instructions. You build the USB drive and then plug it into the left hand USB connector, and click the reset button on the front of the unit. It loads, then tells you to remove the USB drive, and then if you are very lucky it will reboot into Android.
After re-flashing, the vertical keyboard on the left side of the unit did not work. Turned out the mappings had been erased. Fix is to remap the keys - there is an option in car settings.
Current issues still present in the unit seem to be:
Unit shuts off entirely after 30-60 seconds instead of sleeping when you turn off the vehicle. My intel-based unit sleeps for several days.
No AM radio reception - static on all channels.
No way to turn on song or station identification in the radio settings for FM.
AMP-cont signal wire does not work. I've worked around by wiring my accessory wire directly to my amp's signaling wire.
Have not tried Torque and Bluetooth ODBII reader pairing yet - on my list for this weekend.
So, it's not just me...
I purchased a JY-UM135N2PX5 (PX5 2G/16G) with Android 6.0 mid to late March.
I had it on my bench through April, testing and configuring it prior to install.
After trading emails with Joying tech support, I was sent an Android 8.0 update to address a Zlink/iPhone issue.
I started my install in the car today, and discovered "no sound". I guessed that the AMP-CONT wasn't turning on the OEM amplifier. I rechecked the cables, which checked out just fine. Tried a Joying JY-UM135N2 (Intel Sofia 2G/32G Android 6) on the same harness, and it functioned as expected (turned the OEM amplifier on and had sound). I took them both back to my bench and noticed that the "AMP-CONT" on the PX5 unit did not appear to have 12V on it, while the Sofia unit did.
I did not leave the non-functional PX5 unit in the car long enough to see any other issues.
I am curious if I were to revert back to Android 6 on the PX5 unit, if it would fix the AMP-CONT issue (at the cost of breaking the Zlink/iPhone functionality)

Here is the reply I got from Joying support this morning in regards to the open defects I am tracking with the unit. I suspect that all of this will get fixed in subsequent software releases, it's relatively obvious stuff. Can anyone confirm if these same issues exist in the Android 8 builds on Joying's 2GB PX5 head units, or are these unique to the newest 4GB units?
Dear friend,
Please noted :
1) sorry that your system is different with Intel head unit , it do not have fast boot feature . so it will completely off .
2) for the AM receptions is bad , you need to set the proper time and zone . also the radio area choice .
3) sorry, the head unit you purchased do not have the RDS setting .
4) for the am-cont not voltage , please connect the ACC (red wire ) to your amplifier wire . then can offer 12V .
Hope your noted .

Are they serious? I would suggest to try the Malaysk Rom, i guess your units are MTCD and MTCE devices so maybe this rom would support the missing software like rds and the other hardware not supported by Joying

I have a 2GB Android version 8.0.0 unit, but my unit is a FYT based unit like the Sofia 3GRs, unlike yours which is a QD unit.
Mine does have fast-boot as my unit is a FYT based unit, using the same hardware/SOM as the Sogia 3GR intel units.
I never used AM-reception. I wouldn't know, but I know from previous users on Sofia 3GR that they also complained about the AM reception
Which RDS-setting? This is so confusing and so not concrete. RDS is a complete set of functions. The syu/FYT based software on the FYT based units support RDS-PS, RDS-PTY and RDS-TA/TP. The latest firmware versions on FYT units (Sofia 3GR and my PX5) also support RDS-RT. They do not support RDS-AF. They implemented "something" like AF. If you use that option it does not select the Alternate Frequency of your radio station, it selects the strongest signal it can find of any station. Note that it is the software. The radio chips in all these units support the complete RDS set of functions.
Don't know about the the amp-cont wire.
You ask about and mention AM and about RDS. I hope you know that RDS can only be used on the FM signal. RDS is not available for AM.

You have an Allwinner T3 chipset in your unit.
Do not use a Joying thread to ask a completely off-topic question.
I've received the same unit, facing the same issues as the OP.
Also the localisation in my language is quite poor.

I've bought this unit in the hope that it would be compatible with custom ROMs.
Are you saying that the unit MCU is almost unknown and that no custom ROM would be available in the near future?

Teyes TPro + LineageOS

I recently bought a Teyes TPro from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000972517529.html
The unit kind of works. The AC controls work intermittently(I am half way through a moderately difficult process of solving this, more below). Teyes support is useless and incredulous if you want more than a few minutes of their time. However, the dream of having a 10" android touch screen is too good to let go of. I believe the hardware of the system is good.
Given that, I'm curious what people know about this head unit and if it's feasible to just wipe the Teyes image off and start anew with LineageOS 17.1(maybe 18.1!).
I'm a developer, but almost 100% of my experience is in C++ and Linux. I'm thinking it can't be that hard to build the UI/Launcher component and/or piece it together from open source components. Any development I do for this will be open sourced. The TPro fits a lot of older vehicles, so I can see this being beneficial to more than just me.
There are a few things I'm unsure of:
CAN bus interface
This is my biggest concern as I haven't found much documentation regarding the can bus. However, perhaps I can replace the built in adapter with an SPI based CAN bus adapter?
The AC control unit is a separate arm based microcontroller(Teyes sent this with the unit to replace the manual AC controls, since the screen occupies the space where the controls were) that interfaces with the head unit using a CAN interface on the head unit. This works intermittently and seems to be due to the AC Arm based MCU being slow to start. Doing a hard power cycle by pulling the HU power plug allows the AC controls to work correctly. I've attached a raspberry pi zero with a CAN interface from Seeed and am able to record the commands coming from the HU to the AC control unit. The CAN bus frames to and from the HU will be fairly trivial to replicate/decode. However, I'm not sure about accessing the HU CAN bus interface itself from Android. Any Android developers here have experience with this hardware platform? Is the CAN bus driver built in to Android?
It'd be nice to use the same bus for io on the car's OBD can bus, rpm, fuel efficiency, speed, door open, door locks, windows, etc.
AM/FM Radio
I suspect this is going to be standard Android supported hardware. Will NextRadio work well here?
DSP/Audio
Teyes has some nice software to control the DSP 4-channel output. I'm not married to it though, I just want basic 4-channel left/right/front/back controls and an equalizer.
Reverse/Dash camera CVBS/AHD
There are two video signal inputs on the device. Are these supported by standard Android software?
GPIO
Finally, the steering wheel keys(I believe this needs to be an A2D gpio or can be read from a CAN bus), reverse indicator and brake indicator.
I'm the least worried about this as I see there's a GPIO library for Android.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but you can actually forget it.
There is a lot of specific hardware inside these units that use completely closed source drivers. Putting lineageOS might even work, but you won't have an interface to the MCU firmware/hardware, neither to the CANbus, neither to the Radio, neither to the Amp/DSP, etc.
Thank you, these links are very helpful.
It does indeed sound difficult, but not impossible. So, I'm not prepared to forget it just yet. If the system can be rooted and the MCU firmware overwritten, I believe it should be possible to replicate all the functionality with an open source firmware. My only question is whether I have the willpower and motivation to do it. Probably not single handedly, but if a few more software developers with an interest in embedded systems joins in I think we could do it. The dream of a well integrated hardware platform for open source head units is probably worth it to some?
I'll switch over to the other thread SC9853i Q&A to continue the discussion.

Trouble searching for headunit for ford

I am currently looking for a headunit for my ford transit, but I have trouble finding the perfect one, I have found a couple but uncertain if they're any good(see links).
I would like to be able to add 360 bird view.
Decent sound, will properly add an active subwoofer later on

nice to have: Dab & 4g
one that might work

Hallo, how about taking an excellent processor UIS7862 on the FYT platform, from manufacturers such as EKIY, preferably 6-8 GB of ram(T7 6G 128G-B, T7 8G 128G-B) , if you want 360 cameras, the function is optional for some types, you better write to the seller first. For Dab+, you have to buy an adapter and stick the antenna on the glass, or you can buy a hub for the existing antenna. It has 4.1 coaxial and optical output, so if you have this connection option, the subwoofer should work. Android auto is built in, but it's only by wire, but with such a powerful inclusion of AA I consider it unnecessary, but that's a matter of opinion. Internet wifi + 4g. You can find everything it can do on the device page, direct any questions to the seller:

Hey thanks for the awesome reply, how do you see if a unit uses the UIS7862 Processor? since I cannot see that in the description.
Is there no with wireless android auto?
T7 should have UIS7862 FYT, if you want to be sure, write to the seller. As far as I know, the android car can do 5g wifi wirelessly, but I haven't found a suitable device for the Transit.
Okay thanks, the one you sent looks promising is the resolution nice? and I see it's only Android 10 and not 12, is that an issue for a head unit?
Blu-ray QLED 1280x720 is good, but everyone can have a different opinion. I don't see any problem with android 10, on the contrary they don't lie like other sellers who offer android 11 and it's fake, it's actually android 10.
My car has built in parking sensors from the factory, they work through Can-bus.
Would these work for the android headunit?
I don't know how they have a well-made canbus for the Transit, I recommend taking a photo of the cable harness and the connector you have in the car and writing a question and requirements to the seller. I can't advise you in this case.
Hey Pavel, I am a little confused isn't the T900 the same as the one you sent?

The T900 is from EKIY Autoradio Store and only 7 day delivery
EKIY has more stores, it should be the same, only it is under a different label and is photographed with a different launcher, choose the store that suits you better, especially check with the seller if it really has the UIS7862 FYT and if the power cable with canbus adapter, and if it also supports 360 cameras. You can install whatever launcher you want, you can find it here:

Okay thanks for all the feedback, The only thing I am missing is one with volume knob but I think I can forget about that
How's the sound quality from them? are they good enough or should I invest in a external DSP?
You can put an external volume control. The device has a DSP, there is a wide range of settings, the quality should be good, there are different opinions about the sound quality of these units, everyone has a different idea about the sound quality. Buying Chinese units is always risky, I am not a seller to guarantee that everything will work perfectly, such questions are unnecessary. You have to decide for yourself if you want to go for it.
