I have had my phone for about a month now, and use the weather function a lot by pressing just under the clock on the Home screen.
Today, out of the blue, I press it, and it appears to register (ie: the screen depresses) however nothing happens at all.
This happens regardless od whether I am connected to the internet or not.
The only thing I have installed is Resco Explorer, and made only a few registry tweaks, which I am sure were performed correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
try turning the tab off and then on again.
Thanks for the reply, but I'm a little new to all of this.
What do you mean by "turning the tab off"?
when you go to the weather tab, you can update the weather of your location?
I've seen this a few times, the weather area turns off white when you tap but doesn't open the weather tab.
simple soft reset cures it.
No soft reset didn't fix it.....but....
Yesterday I clicked Menu, Personalize Home Screen Tabs.
I UNchecked "weather" because I thought what's the point of having a tab for it when I usually just tap under the clock.
I re-checked it, and now it works! I'm so sorry to have wasted your time! But truly appreciate your efforts in helping me. Thanks guys.
My problem is different, but the question is the same.
i'm in holland and since halfway last week my location in the weather tab failed to update, but i did get weather information... until 2 days later. now the whole tab is unable to update its information.
the weather tab has been disabled and reenabled with a sense restart in between. yesterday i had rebooted the entire phone. both events did not help.
i tried enabling wifi for the weather update, but no luck there as well.
also, i'm not the only one. i have a friend with a newer rom (1 month old phone) who has the same problem.
any ideas?
oh and ps: the reloading animation starts up and loads for a while. then stops suddenly without notification of failure or success.
pps: found a more on-topic thread for my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589132
alright sooo I tried changing my wallpaper...did it about 3 times till I found one i liked. then i clicked the start button and went into the start menu but the wallpaper there was the one I had before...so i did a soft reset thinking that maybe thats all it needed. Then when i turn my htc hd2 back on it takes like a minute *longer than usual* saying "loading htc sense" with the old wallpaper in the background and once its finished the new wallpaper pops up and sense is loaded. The real problem is now that the device freezes alllllll the time. the start menu still has the old wallpaper. I tried setting the wallpaper back but every time I enter the screen to select a picture it freezes! I even deleted the file and it STILL is the background. PLEASEEEEE HELP!

The problem with the wallpaper is because sense is a seperate shell that runs on top of WinMo, so you have to set it in sense, and then if you want the start menu to have it you have to set it on the WinMo side. Are you using pictures from your sd card for the wallpaper? that might be causing a slowup. if so, move it to your devices main memory. I don't have the time to really look into it right now, but when I do I'll play around with my phone and see if I can help you figure this out.
By the way, welcome to the forums.
Thank you for the welcome! I have found a lot of interesting tweaks and mods for my htc hd2 here! :] About the wallpaper issue...how do you change the wallpaper in WinMo? I think i solved the problem. I went into settings -> all settings -> today and changed the background from there then a soft restart. I dont know if that changed the home screen wallpaper also but it did change the start menu background. THANK for you help!!
I still dont understand why my hd2 keep freezing though. I have been running wallpapers off my storage card since the beginning with no problems like this what so ever. Then all of a sudden I change the wallpaper again and it starts acting all funny! lol
Hello everyone, this is what happens:
If I turn off the phone with the power manager widget on the screen when you turn the phone the widget is not finished loading I can only see a gray rectangle and the only way to get it working again is to do a hard reset.
Thank you all, you are the best, and please forgive my English.
A little more information
I forgot to tell you that I also tested with the widget controls and extended SwitchPro and same thing happens with Power Manager
I know what you mean. I have to press one of the power control buttons 2 or 3 times then swipe to another page and back again. Not ideal but worth it as I like the widget.

dude hard reset what are talking about just give ur phone sometime and swipe to other page.. now when u come back to home page things will be normal..
nothing hapens
When I swipe the screen to an other page an come back to the main screen nothing happens.
You could try deleting the widget from the page then re-adding it, however I agree with warriorvibhu; giving the phone some more time should sort it. I've had happen a few times but it's always appeared eventually.
Also about other widgets
Do you also happen with other widgets like or SwitchPro Extended Controls?
Hey guys,
all of a sudden a weird blue button kinda thing appeared below my menu button. It's visible all over the place, in every single app and game but doesn't seem to have any functionality. Neither by typing nor by swiping. I have no idea what its purpose could be or how a could make it disappear again. I didn't install any app or changed any settings that could have caused it to show up.
Do you guys have any idea?
Any help or input is highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark

I doubt it's the launcher, since that thing is visible everywhere.

so nobody know what is the problem? maybe phone soft is not good or is just facebook app?!
I have the exact same problem. When using back button to exit facebook, wallpaper bounces for a sec, but when using home button that doesn't happen. I tried reinstalling facebook, but id didn't help. I had 2 S8+ software updates, and facebook app updates but problem persists.
If anyone knows how to fix this small annoying issue, you're welcome to help.
Best regards
ERMGH...is called live Wallpaper???
Same problem here. It's bad enough that when pressing back, you have to wait for the timeline to scroll all the way back to the top, before you can press back again to exit, then you have to watch the wallpaper quickly zoom in and out.
Funnily enough, my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 rotates the screen after using Facebook in landscape mode, so it's definitely Facebook having some form of issue with Samsung phones.
Same problem
Must be a laggy animation

no is not live wallpaper is just when pressing back arrow to exit facebook, the background is like moving in and out really fast looks like half second lag something like that.
I had many facebook updates but still not fixed..hopefuly somebody can sort it out for us..i just pray to don`t be a bug in the phone or problem with the soft...
i see
did anyone else noticed that Facebook trends are now showing up in Bixby feed?
Happens to me as well, and I'm using Nova Launcher
same here on Nova launcher with Starfield live wallpaper. looks like the app is running in a different resolution and the wallpaper has to resize... maybe it's something to do with the way the app expands to the weird aspect ratio of the s8...
Any update regarding this problem? Here are the things I've tried - Cache Partition Wiped, Full Factory Reset, Tried All screen resolutions, Increased speed of exit animations. thru the developers menu. But the problem still remains. The screen bounces when you exit the facebook app by pressing the back button. It exits normally if you press the home button.
Another weird thing, if you clear the cache/data from app settings, the facebook app exits normally if you press the back button (when you're not logged on to fb). But, as soon as you login to facebook the problem reappears.
Samsung service centre reflashed the firmware of the phone but the problem is still there. They wont replace the device because the app is third party (albeit comes preinstalled).
Any help would be highly appreciated. It's starting to annoy me.
maybe somebody can report this straight to Samsung...I`ve done it but they say is about facebook to fix it.I report to facebook and they say can`t fix everybody`s problem but only major bugs.
so please everybody report the problem to facebook and to samsung and maybe they release an update
I have the same problem ..hope they will fix it
PS. To rezolve the problem go and set the animation to 0 in developer setings..this work for me..
this is called motion effect for wallpaper!
Never noticed this "problem" before. But I tested this out just now and it didn't happen. Then I thought maybe it's because my Facebook app icon is in a folder and not on the homescreen. So I tried moving it to the homescreen and it started happening to me too. Moved it back to the folder and nothing.
So... I guess this is a workaround for the people that are experiencing this issue.
Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
So I am experiencing the same bugs. I have recorded the glitch on my S8+ and sent Samsung the YouTube link:
The told me to contact Facebook instead.
However, you can see what's actually happening with the video. When closing any app there is a zoom-out effect. Facebook however appears to be using a slide effect instead. When this is done the phone does the zoom-out anyway -- and that's the glitch.
There is still no solution for the annoying glitch. Does anyone else experience this issue?
My GS8+ received update AQG5 today, this appears to resolve the glitch :fingers-crossed:
