I got a honor 7 PLK-AL10 64GB version and I just upgraded it to Android 5.1.1 with the site/download of EMUi huawei com in the chinese version.
Has anyone done this also? Why is it not noted here before?
Is this fine with you? As thats the CN version, not a europe version, but it works fine so far.
Has anyone got the Huawei Cloud got to run and download themes?

Most people here have the 16gb European version, not the Chinese version, and I'm not sure if they are inter-compatible.

Yes you can, but first you have to do unroot and install stock recovery.
5.1.1 ROM is a Developer Edition, but it works for me as a stable version.
You did not write what is your rom and I do not know if there is a valid order of installation:
B173 (5.0.2) - B708 (5.1.1) - 5.11.1 (5.1.1)

Using fastboot you can flash the stock recovery and update or flash the rom itself

If your device is not root, you download the rom version suitable for your device.
1-Unzip the downloaded file ( Recommended use 7z to extract).
2-Copy the folder dload in to Internal Storage or SD card.
3-Go to Setting app : Setting All> Updater>Menu>Local update.
4-Your device will reboot and update.
5-Enjoy

I've been on the Chinese web site with Google translate but can find any reference to the PLK-L01.
Using Chinese 64gb as well, but i haven't yet moved to developer roms because kind of lazy to update the rom every 15 days. Any new features on that ?

I m using themes but not using clod services also i m running the lates update..and it work fine..but really upset with contacts need +91 for whatsapp and for dialing.

Take nandroid backup.
Download SonyPlayStoreDuel.zip [Download links are in second Post]
Transfer it to phone.
Flash it via recovery
Reboot your phone.

I don't know why that's happening, but I can provide you only two options....
1. Dirty flash your ROM and everything will be fine.
2. Or flash my DivineBeats mod and audiofx will no longer be needed.

This mod not working for me in ACIP 6.0.1 (I9300) - clean install (only ROm & Gapps), its show "device not compatible"
but wt divine beats mods can install sony apps.

ROM is super smooth only issue is network bar doesn't shown on status bar it shows sim card not detected but everything works(data+calls) no issues with gapps too.that network SIG bar works but of we root our device it stop working and in status bar signal doesn't show.but calls and data works.otherwise no problem ROM is super smooth and stable.
Signal works you have to just go in the apps and open a preinstalled app with signal bar like icon and it will start showing signals

Install First cm13 or oos 3.1.4
Second full wipe But not wipe the system alone (data, cache and dalvik cache)
Third installs the miui ROM and must be
Finally they install the APK Play services when the system starts

official, you have to wait for some developer to do a cleaning and DO NOT put him root

Heyyo, just so people know... It's not EUI 6 Nougat. No, in fact it is still Marshmallow and security update is still January 2017 and same kernel from then too... It's quite the troll to call it EUI 6 when it's pretty much still the same as 5.9.030s...
This put the phone in restart loop
Thanks for sharing this file with us. I would like to let you know that flashing this rom put my phone in the restart loop and sadly I had to format everything and lost all my apps.

I have reinstalled the CN 28s official with TWRP then went to Settings -> System Updates and then update it normally via OTA to 30s
Then i copied those chinese text to wordpad:
1、谷歌基础服务 Google Play Service
2、谷歌服务框架 Google Service Framework
3、谷歌账号管理器 Google Account Management
Then saved it (Unicode) and then copied the file to phone and opened it with the stock web Navigator.
Then copy/paste the chinese words to search in LeStore app and download all 3 apps PLUS the Google Play app that is also there (even if you search in english it will appear).
It gave me some errors (not able to open Google Play). But i have restarted the phone and then it worked normally (insert my google email account, password, etc.)

Contacts are not appearing (google contacts). Only the SIM contacts appear.
I went to my PC -> chrome browser -> google contacts -> Export (vCard).
Copy that file to the phone and then went to settings in contacts -> import/export contacts -> Import from storage
It worked for me
