Hello everyone, now lets discuss about AOD service which is currently available on Note 7, S7 Edge and S7 can be ported to our Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6 Edge and S6 or not. Its a pure discussion thread, so users can share their knowledge about AOD working progresses. Recently samsung has released the AOD open sources of Note 7, so hope that, someone can make it real for our device. What do you think so? Share your views here

The answer is NOT ,, unless some kernel developer work on it & try to ported there ,,

i really wish it comes to note 5, it is ton helpful.

Anyone have some infos about kernel build? Anyone is working on it?
We have fully working app but, of course, without kernel support it can't work.

We need it please I'm so sad because it not work on note 5 can all developer solve this problem

There is not much a kernel developer on the note 5 and as I know it there is no one working on it.
Only skyhigh and arter kernel is there. (Maybe one or two more) and skyhigh once said he doesnt like the idea and its too much work and it doesnt ecenineven worth it
SM-N920C cihazımdan Tapatalk kullanılarak gönderildi

It's nice feature and I believe it'll be a part of next official update. I would never use something like that but, obviously, there are many of you who would. It need around 20% of battery to run for a whole day and I can't sacrifice that just for clock. (I have one on my wrist ) . Anyway... it's cool feature and I would like to see full Note7 port on our device.
Sent using Samsung Note 5 N920C

I love this features ,
and I do have an idea to share that when we are using the samsung pay,we don't need to push the button just swipe up the bottom screen then we trip the samsung pay with screen on .
so can we use these feature to work on the AOD?

Would love to see this feature on our sweet devices however we don't have that many kernel devs and some of the ones we have have already said it's too much work and not really worth it. Least all the sources are released and with great roms from devs like @Androidwizzard and @asc1977 that already have the app options in place, all we need now is the kernel support. Hopefully the kernel devs change their minds and fight with the new sources again to get it to work. I believe in all you devs and I know you can. :highfive:

Where did you get your confirmation? Sorry he said he isn't right now. Maybe in the future but it's not something he is really interested in and is a lot of work. He said when he finds time he may rebuild his kernel but right now he is too busy and not looking into AOD

New information about USB OTG

Hello guys,
I wanted to that I've managed to get USB OTG almost working!
The problem is not in hardware but in software (kernel) and in the near future I'm sure we will be able to fix it!

How have I done this?
I've just forced kernel to send a voltage from battery to USB port like this:
abx500_set_register_interruptible(&pdev->dev,AB8500_REGU_CTRL1,0x81,0x01);
What's wrong with it?
Well... It conflicts with battery driver and can be really dangerous, after USB device is disconnected the current keeps flowing to USB port and back to battery so the phone thinks that it's being charged.
What has to be fixed?
We have to port full battery and USB driver from Xperia devices.
But now I'm 100% sure that OTG on our phone is possible in the near future!
Stay tuned for more info, not only about OTG, but also about the future of MaclawStudio.
Cheers!
I'm trying to contact you for few days.
Please, answer to me. I'm ready to open our sources, but please, answer your phone dude. Even if you want to leave, we should talk about that.

Testing Firefox OS in Xperia SP

So, this is a great new !!
http://fxpblog.co/firefoxos/testing-firefox-os-on-sony-xperia-sp/
I had one question always.
Can we xsp users multi boot?
great ! firefox on sp wow
No, it's a side project so it doesn't get much time. Release won't be for several weeks. The issues are not only on the side of device porting but also on the side of Mozilla. It is still under active development, unlike Android which is only released when it is complete.
Yeah, but of we get Ubuntu, it'd better right? But alas, no dev to port it for xsp. Same is for Firefox. As @Levered said it'll take a lot of time to get updates from the op if it gets ported

I'm curious, what are you guys 'eager' to see this?
The reason for no release is due to camera. From what I can tell the camera blobs depend on some Android specific parts which will never be part of FxOS (of course).
Unless this is solved then I will probably not release this for Xperia SP as nobody will use it without a functioning camera.
I'm considering getting Xperia E1 to continue this project as this hardware is better supported in FxOS and it also looks like the camera blobs do not have this limitation.

You caused it lol by posting this and showing a video everyone got all excited also you could just release non working build like many devs do with their custom ROMs: on some phones the phone might never have working wi-fi on custom ROMs (desire c fixed after about a year of tinkering) or if you check out the HTC one x custom ROMs they have a lot of stuff broken too!

No way, missing camera (and bluetooth) are missing features too big to warrant a release.
Besides, would anyone really permanently switch from Android to FxOS on Xperia SP if I fixed these two issues and released it? I'd bet money on it that people would use it for a couple of hours maximum, then realize they need the Google services that push all notifications to the phone.
(FxOS doesn't have push notifications for most things, pretty much everything has to be reloaded / refreshed manually, even syncing contact data.)
tested on older device..
I have already tested Firefox OS on my older Xperia E Dual device.. it kinda sucked.. I didn't like the way it felt and it was laggy and super slow.. maybe it is better here in XSP

Samsung Launches 2016 Tab S2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652

And is otherwise more or less the same as the 2015 version.

Some people say this is more of a "downgrade" in terms of GPU power.
Strange. This is almost nothing upgraded. For me, main thing is it replacing tab s3, or we will see it in july, august?
just came here to post this, hopefully this means android 6 will come out soon for our s2's

It comes with 6.0.1 though. I guess it's samsungs way of saying FU to the people who have been waiting for an update for their exynos S2.
Cost reduced for Europe

I've been reading that they are likely not to launch the tab s3 this year now. Truthfully, aim fine with that. I love the bleeding edge but damn, it's hard to keep up anymore.
I did snag a Tab Pro S with Windows 10 and that's actually pretty amazing...
Sent from my SM-N920W8 using XDA Premium HD app
It will definitely be better for ROM development, being snapdragon has a lot more development than exynos cpu's in all phones. But then again it's a tablet so there will be limited to no development.
Assuming they don't lock the bootloader (as they did all the US s7 Snapdragons).
But yeah, they found that a mid-range 2016 processor might be easier/cheaper to produce than the 5433.
Hopefully this means 64bit Android 6.0 for the Tab S2 exynos...

I agree on the possibility, that this might mean no 6.0 for the exynos, but in any way we can't change that. I think it has a lot to do with the fact, that samsung really isn't making that much with their tablets in comparison to what they expected. Launching an overhauled, easier to develop tablet might be their way to make some buzz, but not invest that much in new development. I don't think that this means anything for the exynos variant concerning Rom development, since they are wholey other SoCs. Also smartphone sales were not as great as expected with the s6 and with China as new challenger in the market, samsung probably has to watch their expenses.

[ROM][6.0.1] CyanogenMod 13.0 Builds [6.0.1_r63]

Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So now I share with oneplus 3. After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.

Optimized native frameworks for our device

Updated Google Webview

More coming soon
I'm a very praticle user, and my aim will be to get a very fluid stable system, at same time with speed and battery, keeping most stock possible with the optimizations which will improve for real our experience.

xposed

Did I read that correctly, that xposed is officially released for nougat, anyone tried it?
Yes, I have installed it and it seems to work fine.
I hope this means we can get LED control now.
So far I have only installed the secure settings module & gravitybox.

Thanks, thought so. As a miui lover, we apparently need to wait SolarWarez for miui version.

Nope! I didn't know that. Where is the setting located? I had a look but couldn't find it.
Thanks

Seems work on MIUI 9 but not all device... look like lucky charm.... anyway this version is reported worked by many users...
Psy_Man talk with Rovo to implement "his patch" to traditonal branch but Rovo seems search a specific stuff than nobody can send to him...
Is there a working module for ok Google from locked phone ( not lock screen)? If there is I will install xposed otherwise it's not worth it to me.

Im ok with the Psy Man build. Quite good. The modules need to be updated though, especially Perfect color bar. That colour differences on statusbar make my eyes bleeding?
Edit: Got the Flat style colored bar working now, Its completely ok now.
I'm soooo glade that I have xposed working. I'm running RR and using flat style bar indicators along with gravity box and love it. There is one more modual that I have used in the past but the dev hasn't updated the modual yet to Nougant and that sucks! The modual is XQS background. I don't know why the dev hasn't updated the modual yet because it was popular.

Perhaps there are some options of RR to do the same job with XQS module. Have you checked RR tweaks carefully?
Also if you mention what actually you want to do by referring that module, someone may point you out to the exact tweaks.
