hey... nobody don't know? c`mon help me
i think it's normal for a cold start...that's what i got on mine with igo: 4 minutes in my house, should be less in open air.
there's a thread about that (search for visual gps i think) , some "heat" their gps with visual gps or same kind of soft and find the fixx faster afterward in the gps soft (igo or tt)

go outside and stay still...
normally you'll get your fix round 1-2 minutes...
if you go around it will take much longer...
as reset17 said: use the board search..there are plenty of threats...
Cold start can take a few minutes, however i rarley see more than 2 when inside, using Tom Tom.
GPS Problem
I suggest that you upgrade to the WM6 ROM. It is much faster connect.

Before I get into how amazing this ROM is I would like for everyone who is using/considering using this ROM to PLEASE DONATE! These guys are doing an amazing job and if every one who benefits from their work would just contribute a little something, it's a good way of showing your appreciation and allows them to continue their great service to the community.
Just upgraded to DCD's Titan ROM 3.2.3 - Wow I love it!
Can't get over how fast it is and how much better the battery life is now.
I have a PPC 6800 with Bell and their OS was unbearably sluggish.
Now, I have VoIP working (incoming and outgoing calls) and yes you need a headset to hear the person on the other end but the stereo headset that came with my phone is just fine if you turn the sound to max.
Also I have TomTom Navigator 7 running and I don't need a GPS Launcher (like Google Maps or Astro) to get a satellite signal lock. As soon as I launch TomTom I get a lock within a minute. Even if I put my phone on standby while running TomTom is still acquires a satellite signal lock on resume.
I've only found one small issue - sometimes when my phone resumes from standby the phone carrier switches to VoIP even though the Wifi is off.
The quickest fix is to disable the DATA services in the comm manager - for some reason it's active when this occurs.
Otherwise it's a great ROM - Best one I've tested so far.
Thanks DCD!
3.2.5 is Out if y wanta try it

I'm a little slow - Thanks!
Yeah I downloaded 3.2.3 a little while ago and only now had the chance to get everything working the way I wanted and finally pay thanks.
I'll give it a try - I'm sure the process will go much faster this time. A lot of time was spent configuring and testing apps I ended up removing.
Thanks for the link!
Yeah 3.2.3 has incredible battery life. It literally doubled that of my phone's original life.
I'd really appreciate.
Regards,
Enhance its precision? I'm not sure about that. It seems pretty accurate for me.
If you want to speed up the fix time, you will want to run QuickGPS and download the data. I also go into options and tell it to update it automatically.
I wish I could get aGPS working on this phone. With my Fuze and the right radio, I could get a lock in less than 5 seconds outside. With the Treo Pro it takes 15-20+ sometimes.
Hi.
Samsung recently released an app that fixes the GPS config file. I have heard that a few people are now getting better results.
So, whats your experience? Did you even care to install the fix? If yes, how is your GPS playing now?
I have just installed it, so, will be testing it out latter today and then post the results.
Thanks.
GPS was quite bad... installed this app, ran it, GPS is still quite bad... didn't improve it at all.
lock in 4 seconds, 10 out of 12 satellites, I would say pretty good
I'm running Obsidian v4.2 and would get a lock but only if very clear outside and took a while.
After running this app I got lock indoors and super fast!
So for me it most def worked!

I tried the software myself as well. I tried to run it indoors and wont get anything. I moved out to clear sky and after trying a little to get a lock, my phone just restarted... Don't know why...
After booting again, I ran the software once more. This time I got the position in like 2 seconds, most probably the values were cached...
BUT it was showing me about 475 meters away from where I really was...
So, really no improvement for me...
It works!! After rebooting the gps locks on very fast. On google earth before this patch, it would take forever to get a lock, now it locks in a couple of secs. Thank God this fix didn't require KIES!
Locks on within 10 seconds for me now.
However, standing still the location sometimes jumps around still. So all that I saw improved was the acquisition times.
I'm glad for the fix though.
The GPS in my Omnia Pro with 6.5 Rom is really annoying. Sometimes it doenst work at all until i reboot my phone.
And if it works the signal is weak and its not really accurate.
Can i improve this? Is there a better radiorom?
