Phone wont charge

There is a "!" mark in the battery indicator. When I check the battery status in settings it says "Battery Status Unknown". When plugged into the computer the computer doesn't pick up the phone either.
I started having this problem after using it for 2 weeks. My phone wont charge at all, not even while turned off. I tried using a different battery so the battery is not the problem.
Any suggestions?

Battery icon has yellow triangle and thermostat icon

Hello all,
I left my phone charging over night as usual. When i woke up i was surprised it had only 32%. I plugged the charger back in, but the phone wouldn't charge. I restarted the phone and when it booted up it had 60%
After some standby time it showed 50% .. really confusing. I pulled the battery out and when i plugged it back in and "before" turning it on. The green battery icon came on flashing with yellow triangle and red thermostat (see pic).
It won't boot up until i plugged in the charger. I left charge until 100% and tried to restart. I got the same icon again and had to plug the charger in.
Anyone know the meaning of this? Battery app showing temp as 36C after boot up. Now it shows 34C. I did attempt battery stat wipe too.
Please share with me your thoughts.
EDIT: I returned mine for a replacement. After that, my nephew admitted that he spilled something right over the usb.
I had a similar problem. When the icon comes up plugged in, yank the battery out and shove it back in.
If that doesn't work, when plugged in take the battery out, unplug the phone, put the battery back in, and then plug it in.
It worked for me!

HEY!! that worked for me. Thank you sooooo much
OK guys, it came back again. The issue is not resolved. Perhaps a battery failure?
I waited for my battery to completely run out. Then charged it all the way up. Then a simple battery pull out and in takes it down to around 80% ?!
Strange stuff here.

Sounds like a very delicate procedure xD
it seems i am the only one with this issue :/
Sounds like the battery just isn't being calibrated correctly.
Let it drain fully and then take it out and put it back in. Chances are it'll turn back on. Let it drain again until it shuts off and then charge fully while the phone is off.

Looks like similar problem, read this thread:

Probably your USB got polluted or bended.
i also think it is a usb issue. i updated the original post. By the way before i returned it for a replacement i tried using a qtip and "contact cleaner" and sprayed some on the usb. After 30 mins i was able to charge normally before it was acting up again.
Bottom line: clean your usb.
Cheers a bunch for your replies! Gonna clean my usb again & carefully "bend" it down a bit. I'll post the results later
Hahaha I laughed so hard in a bus after reading your edit. What a cute nephew
I feel sorry for you though
Tried everything, including a couple of factory resets/wipes. Sent it to the service center yesterday
For me the main idea from using SGS2 for cpl of weeks before selling this crap:
'Do NOT buy korean smartphones !!!'

I cannot disagree more. This is the most fantastic phone I've ever had. Feel free to check my signature. I've had worse. Haha. Much worse. This phone has only lagged twice in the months I've had it and I had to do a battery pull once. I've had my iPhone 4 crash more times than this phone.

I've had charging problems with my SGS2 as well. All of a sudden it started switching tap&talk on and off. Turned very warm and drained the battery juice.
When I attached the charger, it didn't show signs of recognizing that it was attached. I tried to switch it off, and on again with cable connected. Then it started charging, but if I unplugged and tried again it failed again.
So I had to send my beloved SGS2 for service. Now heading on to two weeks without it, i'm growing desperate from having to spend the time with my old Samsung Spica.
Have a look at the charge port problem thread in general. Few of us have had this problem for various reasons.

i also have a kind of similar problem on my S2, suddenly it stopped charging, when i plug it in i tries to start up but isn't able to & then restarts.
i get the normal battery sign when you plug it in after the battery completely dies (no thermometer), nor does the phone or battery gets hot. is there any solution or should i just take it to a service centre? BTW my phone is rooted & loaded with a custom ROM.

Problem with charge battery

Hiho,
go to the problem:
I changed the original rom to CyanogenMod (NIGHTLY EUROSKANK [21/12/12]). used one month, until one day I was playing, and the battery was low, so I left him there, went to sleep. I woke up, and he was discharged and placed in wall charger, and went to watch. some hours later, I tried to turn on, and nothing happened, I thought I plugged the charger in the wrong way, I put to charge again, and noticed that out instead of white LED appears, was the red led. Loading left for some hours, I turn on and nothing happened .. (@! #! @ # $) And then plugged in the USB, and lit the white LED, and could not access it.
I did the MacGyver method, to bootloader battery, and did SBF flash:
" JDGC_U6_2.12.0_SIGNED_USAJRDNPRCB1B50AA039.0R_JORDANGCCORE_P013_A033_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf ", was all right for some time, when I put it to charge and lit the red light again, and then pulled the plug, and he hung up. and is now well. and no more MacGyver mode solves the bootloader
Please help
Sorry for the horrible english, I'm using google translate.:silly:
And also the huge text (I would explain how it happened)
can someone help?

Hi,
Sorry but in case you don't know, when the phone is discharged (under 7 or 10%) and when we plug it, it's normal to have red led. But you must have the "battery charging animation" with percentage when it charges... When it's charged enough (above 7 or 10 %) you can turn on the phone (power button long press).
Your battery could be dead, yes... But :
How old is your battery ?
Have you checked your wall charger ?
Is your USB cable charges your battery ?
Is your battery charges well with your original SBF (without CM) ?
If you know someone else who owns a Defy, you could test with his battery and his wall charger....
Your USB connector could be damaged....
Need some more informations to help you....

the cell completed one year this month (January / 13). I know that when the led is red because it is very low on battery. But let Loading 4 hours +. and when I connect to the computer it does not charge. it only illuminates the white LED, and can not connect or power on. anyway, the exchange led to suppose that shows the usb part is okay. I've used various chargers.
I can not run the SBF, why he does not recognize.
The phone is not turning on. apparently only led.

Try another battery... Your system could be corrupted, I mean, it seems your phone can't charge in 0-7 % step, so it will never boot... Dunno why, it could be an issue even if I don't really think so... But, to save your phone it's the better thing you can do. Couldn't you borrow someone's Defy battery ? A friend ? A shop ? Then you could test !

I can not because the phone only comes in the boot when it is plugged into the wall charger. when I connect usb, it only illuminates the white LED. and I can not get into the boot or do anything.

Are you sure you can't do any of these two steps (3 or 4) of the "bricked defy Step by Step Walkthrough" thread ??
Even the 4th ?
[...
3.First shutdown your phone, hold the Vol down and boot the phone up keeping the volume down pressed. you should come up to a triangle android logo, press the vol up and down key and then tap the screen ( this is a touch screen gui), choose the wipe data/cache and press ok, this should take up to 5 minutes.
4. Now, shut down the phone (pull the battery out and return it back in), Hold the Vol Up button and power up your phone.
you will enter the Bootloader (or BL as its called in the forums) and you should see the phone stating that (usually 9.10 version)
...]
If not, even with a charged battery, I 'm afraid your defy has a hardware issue...
Is your power button still alive ?

Power it on, when connected to wall charger. sometimes starts, sometimes they're showing is charging (the battery symbol with percentage in the middle). but I just pull it off. ie power on it, just in wall charger.
if a hardware problem it would not mind at all. (I think)

New Battery problem

Hello
My battery sucked, like going from 100 to 20 in 10secs so i asked for a new one from huawei greece. They sent me a new battery and when i put it into the phone and tried to boot it phone didn't boot. I thought it was because the battery was empty and when i connected it to charge first the light was blinking red and then phone boot up to the battery screen. 15min later i realised the phone was boot up and the red light was blinking red and not like staying red which is the light when you charge it with no battery. the percetange was 0%. i left it there for a little bit but nothing happend. then i tried to turn it off while it was connecting to the charger but that just boot up again with the same red blinking light and 0% percentage. I'm on aurora sp on top of aurora v20. When i try the old battery everything is working ok like it charges and everythinh. Could someone help me out?
Strange
Try this connect your phone to usb power without battery inserted. Then turn on when phone boot insert your new battery into your phone let charge until green led or 100%. And install Battery Stats and post details about your batt.

i've tried that nothing changed. i let it boot up without the battery then put it back in without pulling off the charger and it still seemed to be without battery just with the usb cable. i got back to official gingerbread, no rooting and stuff now but still doesn't charge. the weird thing is that the very first time that iconnected it to the charger, when the phone was off, the light started blinking red without phone getting into "battery screen" and after a while it was at battery charging screen. 15min later it was booted up and "no charging" status

Okay. Ask Huaei to change your battery since it's damage for another one you have and can active warranty do that

Can't start/boot (P9 LITE/2017)

Hi everybody.
Received this phone from my sister. It's not booting right. Once I connect it to the charger it vibrates and shows red circle with thunder symbol (charging)? but it doesn't boot. I've left it plugged in my PC (about an hour) an it booted to Huawei logo, the restarted. Next day i've left the wall plug, and it booted to system, gave fast battery low warning and shut down. On the charger it's showing above mentioned symbol. So I'm thinking it's not the charge port but battery? Or some cable? Any ideas to determine the error better?
Sorry for my bad english.
