Hello all,
Randomly yesterday my phone has had a "USB for charging" popup that won't go away (or comes back shortly after dismissing). I tried cleaning the USB C port, did a soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, etc, nothing seems to work.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Also, my device doesn't charge unless I select for it to just charge from the notification. Very annoying. Tried another factory reset and it still has the same issue.

Has anybody had a problem with the XDA Exec before, where after performing a soft reset, the device does not come back?
I reset mine earlier, and now can only get the screen to show something if I attempt a hard reset, but as soon as I press 0 to do a reset, or x to exit, the XDA just go's off.
The battery is almost fully charged, and when I plug into either the charger, or the USB cable, the right hand side LED flashes red when I try to do a reset.
It's got me baffled. The battery has been fine for a long time, I still get 2 - 3 days use out of it before it needs charging again, so that makes me think it's not the battery.
Anyone got any ideas? I'd be eternally grateful.
Sussed it!
I googled it, and found someone who suggested forcing the XDA into bootloader mode, by pressing power + light + reset, and when I plugged back into USB it didn't give me an error in Windows, so attempted a reload of the ROM, and IT WORKED! YAY!
So, if anyone else has a similar prob, and is prepared to try it, give it a go, it worked for me.
Hi, all,
My Titan/XV6800 often thinks that it's being recharged even after the USB cable has been unplugged from it. The Settings>Power screen shows "Charging" and the right LED is amber. Soft resets and temporarily removing the battery didn't help.
Ideas on how to fix this? I don't want to hard reset unless really needed. Thanks!
Update: A hard reset didn't fix it, either. And, the phone further thinks that it has charged itself to 100%, unplugged. I may just have the world's first kinetic powered PPC.
Hi, hope someone can help. Baterry went dead whilst on a call, it was low. Tried to recharge through USB "device not recognised". Tried power and Orange LED comes on momentarily then phone cycles through booting. Sometimes you can see the boot screen other time just the vibration is felt. Tried soft reset hard reset every which way power on whilst connected, power off etc. Removed battery tried again, same. Left battery out for 30 minutes, same. It now appears to be stuck in bootloader screen and still cycling. How long does one have to leave the battery out? What else can I try???
Jerry rigged another destop charger so I could align the contacts and got some charge in the battery. Put it back in and charging normally, phone booted up as though nothing had happened. No hard reset evidence.
I have i5801 with android 2.1.
I had plugged in the phone to PC using the USB connector.
Had a power outage and pc got restarted.
Since then, something strange is happening on my phone. It keeps on displaying "USB Connected" on the top of screen, even when i have plugged out the phone from PC.
Not only this, i have restarted phoen multiple times and removed/inserted battery, it still keeps on showing USB connected at regular intervals (every 2 seconds) even though it is not connected , and phone switches off automatically!
Does anyone know the solution to this?
Try a factory reset and if it doesn't work try flashing another rom.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App

u have a big problem in hand
when u said that ur pc got restarted then it must have burnt the IC that controls the USB connection.
this IC is generally found attached. if it had burnt that u can recharge ur battery but u wnt be able to use any other PC connectivity functions.
sorry to say this but there is no way to fix this xcept giving it for servicing.
but bfore u give it u can dissemble it and have a look at the IC.
if it is burnt u will knw when u see it. no biggie
try this link to dissemble

I have a T-Mobile S8 on the most recent stock firmware, unrooted. A week or so ago, I started getting a system notification on USB options, with Use USB For. It seems to default to Charge Connected Device. At the same time, when I plug my phone in to the original Samsung USB charger, or connect it to any other charging device,it doesn't charge. I have to restart my phone, then it will charge.
I just finished a hard reset and nothing changed. Developer mode was setup before I hard reset the phone and is not now after the reset.
Any ideas?
Hi there i have just started to have the same issue, did you manage to fix this, if so how?
