When I run TWRP backup on my phone, I hear from the bottom speaker static noise. After a while it stopped. Why is it doing this? Is this normal? Is this bad?
That's not normal. I'd warranty your device.

I got my Google Nexus 4 yesterday. Today, when I was making call, I noticed mild buzzing noise from the phone speaker. I thought it was due to the call, but i could hear it even when I was not in a call. I then rebooted the phone, the mild buzzing sound was still there.
The noise does not seem to be there when the phone screen is locked, but as I press the power button, I can hear the noise.
I don't hear the noise in the headphones though. I was not charging the phone when I heard the noise.
Does anybody else have this issue?
I have this too. It's a low buzzing sound coming from the ear speaker even when the phone is on lock.
This is already being discussed here

So I am getting this buzzing/hissing sound from my ear speakers. It is only noticeable when I hold it very close to my ears in a quiet room. But then it is quite easy to hear. The sound changes all the time. The frequency is different and there is a click sound every second or so.
It doesn't matter if the screen is on or if the phone is in stand-by. A restart didn't help.
I have never noticed this before so it might be my manual update to stock 4.3 that caused the problem. But it might have been there before the update.
It is not really bad because you only notice it when you call someone but it might eat up my battery.
That's normal and not even exclusive to your (our) phone
It's caused by electrical noise

I'm on a rooted Nexus 6P running RR ROM, v5.7.4 20161008 angler. After a factory reset, clean ROM and Gapps install, and setting up my account and apps, I've noticed when I put someone on speaker when in a phone call, the volume at even the lowest level is too loud, and the caller will hear an echo of themselves. And on my end, their voice will intermittently cut out. Is there some way to modify a setting or a file on a rooted Nexus 6P to lower the speakerphone volume?
At the highest level, it is so loud it distorts and sounds terrible. So I think I just need to find a way to lower the in call handsfree or speakerphone volume overall.
I sure hope someone can help me with this as currently speakerphone is unusable, which means I can't safely be on a phone call while on the road. Any help that will allow me to resolve this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Note 4 (sm-910t) 6.0.1(ota)
rooted + beastmode kernel + viper4android.
Baseband: epj2
Tested with multiple headphones on my note 4(all had static), and with an iphone 5s(no static).
Everything not mentioned is stock.
Hey this problem has been driving me nuts. Any audio(excluding music player) output through the headphone jack will be accompanied by a very prominent static noise for the duration of the sound and lingering after for about 2-3 seconds. Problem existed with UHQ enabled and before and after rooting.
A strange occurrence before I rooted was if I would play any music file on my phone, i would get terrible static even with UHQ enabled, but if i navigated to Adaptive Sound in my settings, and just merely opened the page it would instantly stop the static, despite Adaptive Sound being disabled. When the track would end and play the next track... bam static came back until i navigated back to the Adaptive Sound page(still disabled). Enabling Adaptive Sound didn't help either, but then toggling it off would silence the static for the duration of 1 track.
My next step was to root my phone, and install viper4android. After doing so, it seems that UHQ has started functioning correctly now, and disables all static during music player playback, but this leaves me with static during everything else while my headphones are plugged in(YouTube/webplayer podcast/touch screen noise).
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Edit: Problem exists on phone back speaker as well, even when audio is muted. Soft buzzing noise when audio is muted, and then a pretty prominent static when volume is raised above 0, sound of static does not increase with further volume amplification.
Edit 2: Would it be worth it to try downgrading to kit kat or flashing to nougat?
Same issue with audio output of my Note 4 (SM-N910T)
Hi, did you solve the problem with audio output of your Note 4? I'm having same issue with my Note 4 (SM-N910T)

My Nexus 6p just started experiencing a weird speaker issue. My top speaker is now much quieter than the other speaker. I hadn't changed or updated anything on the device when it happened. The speaker is still working, so it's not blown, but it's very quiet. I didn't spill anything on it or get it wet, it hasn't been dropped, and it's always lived in a full body Unicorn Beetle case. I tried all the usual fixes, rebooted the phone, reinstalled the kernel (ElementalX), and tried adjusting the speaker gains. As a point of reference, to get both speakers to put out an equal amount of sound, I had to lower the right speaker volume dramatically by setting the speaker gains in EX Kernel Manager to Left: 20 (which is default), and Right: 5. This kind of makes the phone unusable though as the total sound output is so low. Any ideas what's wrong here? I'm thinking about tearing it apart to replace the top speaker (or earpiece speaker as the part is called), I've already done a battery replacement awhile back so I'm confident I can do it, I'm just not sure if that would fix the problem.

I had the same problem.

You can try the suggested solution. However, the problem is most probably due to gunk stuck inside ear piece. You could try canned air first. In my case, I took the phone to a repair shop which disassembled the back and applied some kind of solvent to clear the earpiece. Now back to normal. Good luck.
Ps. Nothing to do with speaker. I replaced mine and it was still the same. If speaker blown, there would be no sound or broken sound, but not soft.
