Charging Speed - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not sure if others have been having this problem but for a while now I haven't been able to get the same charging speed i was getting when I first got the phone. After rooting and installing a rom, the max it charges at is around 2000 mAh whereas when i first got the phone i was able to get around 3000mAh, which it should be able to get. I've been using the same cable, so that isn't the issue. Does anyone have the same problem?

very slow charging from AC adaptor

hey guys, i was wondering if you've noticed that it takes the battery an extremely long time to charge to 100% through the AC adaptor.
i actually don't have a i9000, i'm on the US att variant captivate. i'm trying to figure out if this is a model specific problem (ie. just for us att users) or is it for all of the galaxy s phones.
while the galaxy s does have an extremely large battery, it shouldn't take 6 minutes to charge only 1% of battery. i've noticed that charging my captivate for 2 hours only nets a 40-50% charge, which is far lower than what i had previously experienced on my iphone and sony ericsson phones.
in my opinion, this is the biggest problem of my phone especially since i'm always on the go. i may have to switch phones since i always don't have the luxury of charging for 7-8 hours at a time.
thanks.
Yea the charge speed is very slow while the phone is turned ON.
- However when its turned off it charges really fast, like 30 min for full battery.

I guess I had the same issue, slow charging lateron when the battery fully drained it refused to charge and hence cannot start. I tried via usb cable when I panicked something went wrong so I hard reset my phone to see if it is some software issue. It happened once again phone cannot be switched on since it cannot recharge via adapter, so took it to the service center they tested it and told me that the problem is with the AC adapter.
Now the phone is with me, I am still monitoring it to see and confirm once again that charging via usb cable is not an issue.

[Q] Really high battery drain for 2-3 hours right after charging, then settles

Hey all,
I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue (I searched the forums and didn't see anything). I noticed that the past 3 times I've charged my phone to 100%, the battery drain immediately after unplugging is around 3%/hour even if I don't use the phone. Then after the battery reaches anywhere in the 92 - 94% range, it settles down to about 0.8%/hour without me rebooting or taking any action. I know these numbers only because I have Better Battery Stats installed however I can't really tell what is chewing the battery since I haven't rooted yet.
Is this normal? I'm coming from a Note II that I rooted and installed a custom ROM and did not experience this.
That being said, I am super impressed with the battery on this thing. I am getting almost the same drain as my Note II which had a custom ROM installed.
Thanks ahead for any help/advice you can give me!
Hi i am also facing same issue. After fully charge the first 5 to 6 % battery draining very fastly approximately around 15 mins of usage then after that the battery settles and the draining will be normal.Does any one else is facing the same issue what may be the problem and resolution for this?

I noticed that as well..
I am considering rooting... not sure but I may get an answer through BBS with root features.
Also next time I charge, I'm going to try rebooting the phone immediately after unplugging from the power source.
I think that is just how the way battery percentage is calculated. I read somewhere that from the first 10 or 15 percent are somewhat inaccurate.
Sorry, I'll try and find a source for this later. Currently at school.
Are you guys charging from the wall charger or from the computer usb? And also, I remember non oem chargers tend to do this on my S4 and htc one.... haven't tested on my s5 yet though
Hi I am using the standard charge that comes along with the phone by the way what is the meaning of non oem charger

Rapid Charging Not Working - 6.0.1 (MTC19V)

Hi there,
I have tried just about everything to get my rapid charging working from the Nexus 6p. I am not quite sure what happened or what caused the device to not have the ability to rapid charge, but when i plug my original Huawei wall charger and cable sitting at 15-20% it reads "charging" only.
It used to indicate for me rapid charging where i was able to get a substantial amount of battery over a short period.
To investigate further, i plugged it into the wall and phone and booted up Ampere with the following results:
Min: 1200 mA and Max: 1250 mA
Status: Charging
Plugged: AC Charger
Level: 26%
Health: Good
Tech: Li-ion
Temp: 33.5
Voltage: 3.954 V
Max USB Current: 1500 ma?!?
The rest of the information such as build is in the title block, the latest and greatest from google with June patch updates.
Now the question i have given the information above is why am i a max current of 1500 ma and for the life of me don't understand why i am not rapid charging anymore. I cannot get over 1250mA when looking through Ampere for the charging of my phone and it always states its going to take 2+ hours to charge from around this time.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what is going on? I am pulling my hair out about this and need to send the phone out for repair through the carrier if need be, a two week process and the reason i wanted to exhaust some help here first.
Note: i have already tried a new car charger and still get the same result along with a new USB C cable. I have just picked up a new wall charger from the local carrier store to borrow for the night to troubleshoot which is the original charger from Huawei.
Ive never seen it say "rapid charging " yet , is that what its supposed to say?

Yes it does. During charging, in the lock screen.
Ahh, i never ever looked ill check it out, what the average time of charge with ralid charging and if it doesnt show where do i look.for answers? Build.prop?

Again, the lockscreen shows the estimated time it takes to reach 100%.
Hi all,
I am not sure actually what is going on because the new car charger or supplied wall charger is not working to achieve rapid charging.
I on the latest build and am wondering if it has something to do with software. I used a friend's phone recently and he was not fully updated only to see the max USB charge to be 1800 instead of 1500.
Any help? Do you guys actually get rapid charging? What is the result in the ampere? I ordered another charger from Google but the supplied charger and cable is only getting 1300 max.
Should I return the device?
Did you ever solve this issue? I have the exact and problem. I wiped everything and it solved the problem but now after about 10 days I'm having the issue when.

daughter board replacement question

Hi, ive been looking to replace my charging port. However when I started looking at where to buy one, ive seen that no where is there a good review for them. Everyone seems to have the problem of a PC not recognizing the phone and slow charging speeds. Has anyone had any luck with doing this? Thanks.
Would also like to know if anyone has done this as a slow charging solution. Getting insanely slow charging speeds at random times
Would also love to hear from anyone who has found a quality replacement daughterbarda. The one I ordered from DIYMobileRepair.com "worked" but did not fast charge, nor does it recognize any data connection.

Android 10, problems with slow wireless charge after update?

Hello. I updated my s10+ to android 10 last night, today i was trying to charge it with my wirless charger (slow charge) and once it hit 99% it got stuck... kept saying 3 minutes to go but after 30 minutes was still at 99%.
So I switched to samsung cable charger (with low charge set as well) and in few minutes it got to 100%. So I'm wondering... anyone else experienced something like this? Did android 10 change anything with charge?
Anyone? Tonight i put it to wireless charge again from 70%... went up to 97, then it gets stuck. Says its charging, but even after 30minutes wont go up. With ampere app i can see it says its charging but its barely gettin any ma in.
When I used cable earlier today id get like 600 ma.
Is there really a problem with android 10 and wireless charge?

There's no problem with it. I have 10 on s10+ beta.
Your phone uses more background process and drains it faster than it charges. Use fast charge wireless for a night. You will see yourself it will go up to 100%. Ice used all my galaxy's on fast wireless charge since the s7? Whoever one introduced it. No issues with battery life.

Yes, tried fast charge wireless last night, and it worked to 100%. But the odd thing is that with android 9 i didnt need to use fast wireless to charge it. Also, even now, without fast charge, it does charge itself until 96/97%... it's after that that it wont go higher anymore. If it was just a question of more battery used with android 10, it shouldnt charge with slow charge even between 50 (say) and 97, right? So why does it charge fine until 96/97%? That's what im wondering.
