Hi,
I have a MTCD KD android head unit with the resolution 1024*600 but when I put the following factory settings password : hcttouch to display information about the touchscreen/calibration
I get only 800x480. To be accurate my unit display current information "90,0,800,480" (plz see the attached image)
Is it normal ?
Thanks for your help
Artius
I can't help with your question but I also have another resolution question. What is the refresh rate on these screens?
I have a DVB-T2 Freeview box and in the resolution settings it has 3 options for 1024x600. 25Hz, 50Hz or 60 Hz?
Does anyone know which one I should pick?

I couldn't tell you exactly what data that function is providing to you, but I will tell you that the touchscreen is actually a distinct part from the LCD.

Hi guys,
I have this android unit installed in my car, and i would like to know if there is possible to make customization to the UI (remove for example Car info tab - not working for me) or make it so when i click on it will open a specific app (like torque or something) to make it useful, or simply remove the item from the UI.
Can i do such a thing, will require a lot of codding or something?
Please see the attached images to know better about my unit and hopefully you guys can help me out.
Thanks a lot guys for your time!

This is to prevent spamming.
Just mention which unit you have. You don't mention brand, type, OS version. etc.

It looks like a PX3 MTCD unit.
Look at this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...nt/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-mtce-device-t3693509
or one of the other PX3 threads in that sub-forum

Thanks, i will post there, maybe someone is willing top help out with the coding or the action that will help me rearrange the tiles or delete some of them.
Hi all , just git my self and installed an android head unit , it is a Pumpkin with PX5 for VW Golf MK5.
I really enjoy the change and most of the things are working properly.....
The biggest problem I have is the stock bluetooth/phone app which is ancient.
Looking to get another app for this function and not sure what will work. Must have the ability to show the favourites , contacts with pictures and if it can to sync the contacts with Google. Also if I have multiple numbers on the same contact to show only the default number and not a list with all numbers.
On the actual app if I have 4 numbers on the same contact it will show 4 lines so if I need to scroll down to , let's say V , it's gone take me long time because of all numbers been displayed on separate line.
Right now I am playing with Carwebguru( think that's the name) and working quiet well but still there are a lot of customisation which can't be done.

The bluetooth/phone app is mostly deeply integrated with the rest of the system.
First try to find out what kind of unit you have. If it is an MTCD/E model, you should take a look at the Malaysk and/or HAL9k custom roms for PX5 mtcd/mtce models.
If you have a FYT based unit, there is actually nothing for you (I have a FYT and can't help you further on MTCD/E). All those apps are outdated and "simple".
But your entire list of wishes is most probably not possible.
How can I find if my unit is MTCD/E or FYT. All I know about my unit is that is the lastest model from Pumpkin coming with Android 8 and has PX5 on the name. From what I found I have MCU on the menu qnd that means I have MTCD unit? Sorry but I am very new on this units

Share the exact type of your unit based on its SKU number (like for example SKU: VA0202B)
And share what your settings screen mentions "about this unit"
If that's not enough we have to look at your /system/build.prop
Look like I am lucky........and I have a MTCD/E unit.
When I check on the <About> I get this
Model px5(1024x600)
Android Version 8.0.0
Android security patch level ...............................
Kernel version 4.4.93+ , rocky"hctr930 #343 , Sat Sep 15.........................
Build number px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR15.170623.007 eng.hct.20181011.175413 test-keys
MCU version MTCE_KLD_V2.94e_1
CPu 8core 64bit CPU Coretex-A53 " 1.5G
From this information I should be ok to flash any of the 2 ROM's posted above , right?
Anyway first I will have to try and get the original rom for backup.......................anyway to backup the actula rom instaled or do I need to get in touch with the seller to get the it?

Yes, you can.
You need a firmware from your (re)seller.
A couple of years ago I bought the full version of Malaysk's firmware for a PX30/RK3326 Android 9. works great.
I have new head units now, the Phoenix SC7862 Android 10 and a Ezonetronics K4811 Android 11
I searched the forums for these but it's quite empty. do these translate to something I can search for? like MTCD/MTXX ?
Or is there a thread about modded firmware for them somewhere?
Did you ever find more info on your K4811? I have a K4811 and the only thing I’ve figured out so far is the Factory Settings password is 1617 but I don’t know the developer mode password or even how to change main screen.

some people use a computer power supply to bench power their android head unit but you'd need an old one or some way to turn it on. probably easier to find an old 12VDC wall wart style power supply

In your last line, do you mean 8581a instead of 5851a?
Does the freeware version of DeviceInfoHW report the desired info? My AHU is installed in a vehicle that is not under my control so I would prefer not to have to arrange to purchase an app with my account. Maybe AIDA64 would work too.

I got the Style Setting password for my unit last night from my vendor. Posting here in case it helps someone else with a K4811 unit:
Factory Settings password: 1617
Style Settings password: 111333
I'm still trying to get Developer Option password (and USB Debugging password, if required).
Good afternoon. Should I expect root on this device?
Android developer settings password is 345543, as mentioned previously in this thread. I found USB debugging enabled by default.

The K4811 is not a FYT unit. The only thread I could find, with very little info is this thread on 4PDA.
The biggest difference from FYT units is that on K4811 you CAN use the unit's SIM card for calls and SMS.
I just got this unit a couple of days ago and I must say I am impressed.
My previous unit was a Navifly (FYT) UIS7862, 9.7 inch 1280*720 6GB+128GB Android 10.
My new K4811 is a 13.3 inch 2000*1200 6+128 also Android 10 (fake Android 11)
What I like:
Beautiful screen, very bright. Will see how it looks in summer, though.
Sound; subjective, but to me it sounds way better than my previous unit.
Cooler included with management based on preset CPU temperature.
Adjustable mounting height -not much, about 1 inch, but still.
Came with adapter frame.
Wireless Android Auto through Zlink5 works like a charm.
What I don;t like:
No obvious way to change laucher, seems to ship with only one launcher.
No FYTBACKUP
No root
Here is a nice video showing the unit

Actually, for factory settings, both 1617 and 16176699 will work, but return different options. At first sight 1617 will show less inputs and less styles- 1617 shows 4 styles while 16176699 shows 20.
Couldn't figure a way to change the launcher, though.
Hi guys,
I´m pretty new to this and hope you can help me out.
I just installed the Android Auto Head Unit on my MS Surface 8 (Windows 11) and everything is working fine expect the term that I am not able to change the resolutuion for android auto.
It always starts in 480x800. I changend the resolution in the .ini files but it dosen´t work Maybe someone of you can tell me step by step wich parameters I have to change to get the resolution to 1920x1080?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my noobish request.
edit:
I found It. Just moved one of the config.ini´s to 'C:\Users\"username"\.android\ and renamed it to "headunit.ini"
Is there a possibility to enable multitouch?

Hey,
I have a headunit, which I think is an Alps k62v1, running on mt6762.
But honestly, I'm not sure.
Trying to find an alternative rom or anything which might improve performance.
Would appreciate help with a basic step -
What is actually the device?
Where can I start finding info?
Attaching screenshots.
Thanks!
