Hey everyone. I has done a lot of damage to my nexus 6p and had to replace the whole front panel, the whole back, and a new battery. Now I can see bluetooth devices but its hit or miss if i can connect without flipping on and off. Also it gets very very staticy when trying to use any audio. Then it drops connection to device. Is this what the "new update" is doing to people? I am on 6.0.1 but did not use bluetooth for anything but my watch before it broke. I just don't know if maybe something bluetooth related was also damaged. I just spent $160 to get this phone back up and working. Thanks!

Hello;
It's been like a month that I have this problem, my bluetooth won't connect and neither is my wifi. The wifi sometimes connect with like one bar, the signal strength is awful and you have to be like 1 feet away of the router because if you move farther it disappears. I have tried to boost this in the settings by better performance but it doesn't make a difference.
In the other hand the bluetooth is not working at all, I tried to connect to my laptop and is like there's no bluetooth device in the area, tried it with my headset and get the same thing.
It's really frustrating cause this two features are very important for my daily use of this phone, so if someone now what to do please let me now.
Appreciate it!
Same here!
I have the exact same problem and apparently by the lack of posts anywhere on the internet nobody has an answer.
im having EXACTLY the same issue. im gonna open it up and see whats up.
The answer might lie within?
Try this link? What you're looking for might be somewhere in amongst these threads? http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=48353718&pp=25:confused:
can you repost that link? its saying search is down..
edit: working now.
???
I get a "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." message.
???
nothing worth noting on the link. im gonna send mine back to htc..
I'm hoping someone will get to the bottom of this as i miss my wifi.
All was working fine on my phone until I had to take my phone apart because the plastic led shield had come lose and was touching the vibration device causing a strange noise.
So i managed to get the phone apart and push the led plastic cover back into place, i didn't touch anything else. I put the phone back together and all worked fine until i tried the wifi. Nothing, it turns on but stays as scanning and never finds anything even if its right next to the router.
I was advised in another thread that one of the cables might have come loose as i took the phone apart so i opened it up again but couldnt see anything wrong.
I'm just wondering if its a software issue somehow. As i never touched any part of the board, or antenna etc whilst it was apart and like i've said i couldnt see anything out of place or loose. Whether a hard reset will solve the issue i dont know and its a pain to do really.
I haven't tried bluetooth, but considering it looks to work off the same antenna that too might have broken.
maybe solved
find bttrayce.exe or bttrayce.lnk in windows folder
run it and check them
copy lnk file to startup folder
restart
this is for wi-fi too .
I've run bttrayce.exe and the ink file is in the start up folder.
This hasn't made any differance.
enable wifi n mode using registry editor like total commander or resco, go to:
HKLM/Comm/BCMSDDHD1/Parms/11nModeDisable = Change from 1 to 0
or, install bsb tweaks and enable wifi n mode.....
or, the best answer is to flash a new radio-improves bluetooth, data, wifi and call signal

did you hard reset and the problem persists? then it is a hardware issue, send it to htc.

so wait, you take the phone apart, put it back together, then it doesn't work, yet it isn't your fault? I hope you didn't screw up the void sticker covering the one screw when you did this, because you obviously damaged the the wifi cable in some way.
Obviously i'm aware that what ever has happened is my fault, my point was that if i'd taken it apart and knew i'd done something that might have damaged the board etc then that's fine I would be able to pinpoint what it was, but as i didnt do anything really especially to the main phone just the back case it's just a little odd.
Void sticker is fine.
seems like an antenna problem, there is a cable on the side of the phone with the volume rockers, there will be a cable going to the top board to the bottom board this cable attaches and can be removed. try to remove then reattach the cable
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL-jnUKufC4&feature=player_embedded
the cable is on 2:38 of this video.
Right I took my phone apart again this morning to double check everything. I noticed the cable attached at the bottom as mentioned in previous post. It lifted off a bit too easily, so I positioned it correctly and pushed it back down, my WiFi now works. So that was my issue.
So my advice would be if both your Bluetooth and WiFi do not work, it is more than likely the cable is lose. (more likely if your phone has been a part obviously)
Thanks for everyone's help and advice on here.
I had the same problem with my GPS. I took the phone apart and found that the GPS unit was connected to an amplifer via two gold prongs. The connection was not flush, so I stretched the prongs abit (not too much) to improve the connection and put the phone back together. The problem was now fixed.
From memory I think the bluetooth and wifi worked on the same principle, and I think the amplifier states what its function is.
Hope this maybe some help.
Hello Guys,
I just got my HD2 from repare, had to change the screen since it became unresponsive.
After I got it back, installed both WP7 and Anrdoid on it, I found out that the phone is not detecting any wifi networks. I tried in both WP7 and Android, and both of them do not detect any wifi networks. So it looks like when they changed the screen, they messed up WIFI connectivity. I'm guessing they might have forgotten to connect one of the connectors.
I am planning to take it back to them, but I was wondering if any of you knows which connector is for the WIFI, and if its easily visible once I take the back cover off, since I already done that before.
Thanks in advance
Hi dude,
if a connection is a problem and you even going to find it don't do it yourself.
it's a pretty small and gentle stuff, so you must know what you doing and how to connect them. Obviously you will need some serious tools.
my guess if you had all that - you already been doing this and not asking here.
so advice - not touching anything, not making it worse.
Best case: the connector came loose (which is not all that uncommon). It's the connector on the black wire on the top right side of the main board.
Worst case, they broke off a contact (which is also quite common).
Either way, don't try to repair it yourself but bring it back to the repair shop. If they accidentally broke off a contact then that requires a professional repair.
Thanks guys.
After some tests, I found out that the phone does detect wifi networks, but have extremely bad reception. I have to be very close to the wifi router for it to detect the network.
Any idea what might be causing this?

Like I said, either a loose connector or a contact has broken off. That will give you about 1 bar of reception while sitting next to your router...
I just recently replaced a malfunctioning LCD and shattered digitizer for my Glacier. Before I did that, the WIFI worked just fine. No problems at all. But now, the WIFI will turn on, but won't pick up any networks at all. All my other phones pick it up just fine, as well as my laptop. I've tried three different ROMs and I have the same issue with all of them. As far as I know, there weren't any cables that connected the WIFI module to the motherboard or anything else when I took it apart and put it back together. It's just a little piece that snaps into place, right? I'm not sure what's going on with this...
Seriously? Nothing? Every time I post on here, I get ZERO response... What gives? I see everyone else's problems being solved but not mine...
Sorry, there's no help to give. Don't act like you're entitled to something. I hate people like that. If you didn't touch the WiFi module through the screen and tried different roms then it went bonkers and its toast. TF are we supposed to do about that
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda app-developers app
If you're gonna post on here just to be a douche, you might as well not post at all. It's doing nobody any good.
All drama aside, he is right nothing to be done really. I guess you could open it back up again and risk breaking something more important than the wifi. Something may be put back in wrong or may have got ESD damange. Truth is unless you're just using this phone as a toy/dev/learning device and don't care if it breaks it is not worth the risk to open it back up.
Trying to fix my external speaker - I mess up working wi-fi. In addition, the case crack and camera button is not working. Should take it to repair shop. Too late now. It would be too expensive to fix it. You my still be lucky and shop will fix for few bucks. Lesson learn - do not mess with something that you do not understand( for me).
coax cable issue
there's 3 little coax cables - I've been told the white coax is the wifi but the black one fixed it so maybe they are all involved. In the process of getting to the LCD you went through these 3 cables. In most cases you wouldn't have disconnected them but certainly by accident it will happen. I put mine on 3 times before they stayed. There's quite positive click when connected but even then it may come loose while assembling the rest of the phone. I just finished swapping out my mother board and as perfectly as I could reassemble the phone I apparently lost one of the coax connections = no wifi. Went back in and this time the black cable somehow got caught under the camera board instead of on top and connected. Easy to see why this was missed because it looked connected.. well looked like it belonged where it was (wrong)
Anyway that's my wifi fix story - hope it helps someone
My friend has recently started having problems with his G2. The problem is that the screen goes gray (you know, like old tv's when they didnt have any signal) when waking the phone up and couple of smacks against the wall seems to fix the problem mostly. The interesting thing is that the phone works perfectly while the screen is gray, he connected it to his laptop and was able to use it with somekinda program. But this is getting really annoying because its happening more and more often. What could be the problem? Broken screen, bad connection? Any help will be appreciated.
I have also been having this issue recently with my G2. I disassembled the phone and tried re-seating the video connectors. The phone did not exhibit the behavior for the remainder of that day, which was nice... but it started doing it again the next morning. My guess is the connectors are working themselves loose over time. Anybody have a suggestion on how to make the connections a little more stable?
Hello. I want to start off and say that even tho i used a lot of phones Samsung fits me bets. With that in mind i want to tell the story of my broken s4 i9505. I bought it new and used it about 2 years until i got and iphone 5s. The phone remaind in a drawer with the intention of selling some time but forgot about it, then i used the phone once a week or so paired with moto 360 because iphone could not connect and used the watch only for time .(bluetooth worked fine remember this). Anyway i decided to sell it and i had all my apps and accounts in there so i thought the fastest way was to factory reset it and make it fresh so i can sell it (rom was not stock at the moment, i have no ideea what rom it was). I sold it to a friend that told me he wanted to pair something with it thru bluetooth and bluetooth didnt work...i sayd that it wasnt possible because all i did was a factory reset and that couldn't damage anything. Things got worse as the phone was charging very very slow and if it got over 90% baterry would not respond to anything (red led at 90% and got to green when full but still no response from phone) and the only thing to do is to remove battery. Then i took the phone back, got it a new battery but that didn't changed anything, took it to some repairs shops that didn't ever hear about this problem, i had it chance the software but that didn't do anything. The problem i suspect it is and i saw a few other posts online was the bluetooth module would stop working for some reason and do this to the phone. Currently i don't know what to do with it and i don't want to sell it just for part for 50 euros or so. Also i read that the bluetooth module can't really be changed as a spare part because it's part of the motherboard and that means almost all the phone. Phone is in mint condition, i didn't damage it before the sell , the buyer didn't damage it or messed with the rom...Another thing i noticed is that in settings under bluetooth address says unavailable. Can someone please help me ? I can provide more information about serials and stuff if needed. Also wi-fi doesn't work now.
Mine also show unavailable under Bluetooth address, but it works.
Are you currently on the stock rom?
Yes is stock. Android version 5.0.1 I9505XXUHOJ2. If i toggle bluetooth on says starting bluetooth then after 5 seconds it disables. I guess the problem is from hardware not software. So fast battery drain is not normal something is using a lot of energy.
As far as I know, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules are in the same physical chip, therefore something might be physically broken. Here's a clip I came across while trying to fix my phone's Wi-Fi and I think it's exactly what might fix yours. (Should be very cheap to do too.) I think basically what he's doing is putting some flux on the board then reflowing it with the hot air gun.
Before taking that step, be sure to exhaust the possible software fixes. I'm not sure, but updating the bootloader and modem MIGHT fix it.
My wi-fi started working again it just took a while but the bluetooth does exactly the same as in the clip so maybe that's the problem. I don't understand why does so glue over it make it work...also for me it's hard to turn the phone off because the screen goes black but the blue led still stays on and the only way to turn it off completly is to take out battery. Maybe this will solve the battery problem aswell ?
