Hello guys
I ve been having this issue since the first day with the phone. Everything works perfect until spotify is opened Music and media volume its alright but notifications volume goes so low that i can barely hear any notification even if spotify is close. The only solution is a reboot.
I am running stock kernel and rom 6.0 any help?

After updating my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Limited Edition to 3.1, I noticed that the notification sound was considerably louder... even at the lowest volume. Has anybody else noticed this? Any proposed fixes? Thanks in advance!
open the volume thingy by using the volume rocker then tap the settings looking thing to the right of the volume slider. That should bring up the notification volume level.

I hadn't noticed that. Cheers.
It seems as if my tablet after the update to 3.1 it doesn't play music as loud from the headset Jack. It even gives you a warning about damaging your ears that I don't remember seeing in 3.0.
This a bummer because one of the main things I use my tablet for is playing music on my sterio. Its a great music player but now it seems as if it just won't turn up loud enough.
@onovich
I don't think the music volume was affected with my tab... but, then again, I didn't listen to a whole lot of music on it before the update.

Thanks for the info... I should've mentioned that I'm not a Honeycomb newb, so I was able to turn the notification volume down... but even at it's lowest setting, it's still pretty loud. But it seems like I have a good amount of bugs that nobody else has mentioned on these forums to think that a factory reset might fix them all.
I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks!
Could not find a thread that mentioned this issue so started a new one. If there is one, please link me. I am on stock unrooted N4 and love it. In the last couple of weeks I have noticed something odd with volume when playing google music app. I can be listening to a song and if I hit volume up. I get the ringer volume level which is already set pretty high but, moving the bar left or right does not change the volume of the song I am listening to. Other times when I am listening to a google play song and hit the volume, I get the speaker icon showing midway in the bar and I am able to raise or lower volume of song ok. The volume at midpoint when listening to music app is high and can increase even more but, when the ringer volume displays in google music app, the overall volume is half as loud and lose notification sound for incoming texts and mail.
The only way to resolve this issue is to reboot or power off the phone. I am using light flow and I wonder if the app's volume setting are causing the problem. If so, I may remove light flow lite app.

this has happened with my stock rom and new rom. i am currently running triforce 4.0 but has happened since i owned the phone. basically i listen to pandora a lot while i am working. i pause the song in pandora when i turn off the van. when i hit play the volume is always really low almost to the point where you cannot hear the audio. the sound returns to normal once it gets to the next song or when i receive a text message. I've tried to re download pandora but has not fixed the issue. does anyone else have this problem or a solution to this issue?

no one has this issue or know a fix?
Hi.
I had this weird problem earlier today which was solved the same way it occurred; it just happened for no apparent reason. So I was listening to music through my earbuds and its volume controls were working fine. After a while I noticed that the volume wouldn't increase when I clicked the volume up button, but it would decrease when I used the volume down button. So I unlocked my phone before trying to adjust the volume using the earbuds and for some reason volume up turned on Google Now instead of turning up the media volume.
I tried to uninstall updates and turn off Google Now but that didn't help, I also restarted the phone which didn't help either. After I managed to deactivate the app the volume up button didn't give any response at all.
So I ended up just leaving it like that, but when I tested it a few minutes later it worked fine again! Just like that. I didn't do anything! I was listening through Spotify like I always do.
What kind of sorcery is this?
I Have the nexus 6p on version 6.0. Just this morning my phone was working fine and all of a sudden I have No sound audio. Notifications work. I cannot hear any sound apps like youtube, music players.. Do Not Disturb is not on. I go into sound and notification and everything is turned on and all the way up. When changing a ringtone I can hear all the options.. But NO audio... I have factory wiped/data my phone.
Please help

click volume up or downONCE .... there's an arrow pointing down to the far right of the volume slider... click that.
your volume is turned all the way down on one of the 3-4 options there
