44-45 kb/sec 3G/HSDPA speed!!!

Guys i've tried everything, APN settings, Build.prop file mods etc ...
but my download speed remains at 44-45 kb/sec!!!
someone please help, I've tried posting this in the rom thread too ...

Yes your network may be restricting your quality of service (qos) to that level
I only get 3G not HSPDA on Virgin and I checked its a qos issue - working on them, but they are very slow getting back

T-Mobile UK network, with Unlimited Data plan.

the thing is I got HSDPA speeds on winmo 6.5, and it was reasonably fast, 45 kb/sec is riddiculously slow ... plus the H icon also shows up when I use Android also 45 kb/sec is well below 3G speeds ...
I dunno whats going on, but I'll speak to T-mobile anyway and see what excuse they come up with ...

Problems with data on 3g but fine on H?

Hi everyone, if like me you have noticed that the SGS2 doesnt like getting data while on 3G but fine using H or H+ then maybe you could try reading through the link below.

Seems as though the SGS2 doesnt like switching between 3G to H then back to 3G?
Im on O2 UK and have tried various roms and modems but the problem still persists.
As far as i can tell the process is safe and doesnt void your warrenty but the usual dont blame me if you do something wrong comes in to play here.
Im going to try this as i can only get 3G at work and is such a pain having to wave the phone about or stand in a specific corner just to get a H signal so i can get an urgent email.
Hopefully Samsung will sort this out soon in a new modem upgrade.

Just a quick update: have done the class 5 trick and getting constant data on 3g and doesnt try to connect to H at all. Speedtest shows 2.5mb download which is fine for me.

Thanks for sharing this tip. Like yourself, I am getting frustrated with the data band switching and bad connections I get from my service provider. i have locked the phone on 3g for now. Hope to see improvement in batt life too

Which means you are actually still on H, not 3G.

[Q] really slow internet speed

hi, my experience with my note 3 has been some what dissapionting. My internet speed is very very dissapointing and i would like to know if there is something i can do about it. i already talked to att about it and they adviced to replace the sim card, so i went over board and replaced my entire phone along with the sim card cause it was giving me problems. but the new phone is just as slow and im talking 3g speeds or less like i havent seen any speed faster than 1.4Mbps DL or .2Mbps UL. ohh and those speeds were tested while the LTE logo was on the connection, heck i have even had apps say that theres no connection with the LTE logo on.
im also getting a warning about an app being stopped for trying to access my info but i dont know if i should post that on a new thread...

Could you give more information? Have you had any other phones with faster speeds? Have you checked with a friend in the same area and see if that person gets poor performance as well?

I did notice some issues with sgs4 i had before but i only had it 1-2 weeks while the note came out so i didnt really care, but the i777 (sgs2) i had worked fine normal 5-15Mbps depending on area

Anyone with slow data speeds

Well I'm on At&t gophone and got my phone today. At first when I put my Sim in I was getting like .20mbps on the speed test app and it was taking forever to find my location. But once I turned on location I was getting about 8 mbps. So if your experiencing slow data you might want to turn on location.

WiFi calling providers

I have an Xiaomi A1, Android One. I've tried 3, Giff Gaff and EE sim cards but none of them give me a WiFi calling option. I can find USA provider information but not UK. Does anyone know how I can get WiFi calling please without me sending for about 7 sim cards to try. TIA

No UK network currently supports the A1

Is there no way round it. I have no network signal where I live so my only option is WiFi calling.

There may be one option, I was with three and had almost no signal at home, I called them and they were able to help.
They sent me a box with a sim card in it, you plug the box into the router and it creates a mini cell tower in your house, all calls are routed over the internet while at home and it worked really well.
The box was sent to me free of charge, I had unlimited internet so there was no fees for the equipment r to use it.
It's worth a call to see if they still do them, I think they will only send them to contract customers rather than loose them, they probably won't send them to pay as you go sims.
