Hello, been thinking switching to custom rom over stock for awhile now.
But I enjoy the fast charge feature very much, is there any way I can still use my fast charge when switch over to custom rom?
If there is, what are the steps?
Thanks in advance.

stock based roms all have fast charge enabled, not sure about CM based roms though. :good:

Hey all,
Bought a Note 4 for my mother recently and I'd like some suggestions on ROMs. I'd like to flash a stable, stock, de-odexed ROM that removed all unnecessary bloatware. I know there are a number of choices out there, but if someone who's had the Note 4 for a while could point me in the right direction, that would be great.
Latest stock rom is very stable, I just disabled the bloatwarez because I never rooted the phone.
Hi.
Just try this one. It's not stock at all, but it's' probably the best Note 4 Rom over here. Big community, responsive developer, great features and amazing battery life with the stock kernel that they provide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-kyubi-rom-note-5-t3220106
But, if you really really want to go stock , try Nameless ROM. Very fast and fluid ROM with great battery life.

Good luck.

I've noticed it's quite stable. Would be easier to keep the stock rom for her as it isn't mine. Is there a thread or page that lists out what apps are safe to disable on the Note 4 without causing issues?

Well I dont know if there's any problem with CM12.1 by @ED300 You should get custom kernels like Telo or God's Kernel to get fast charging.
And If you really want to change, then CM11 has best performance and battery life. Currently, Im on MIUI 7 and its also smooth and has good battery life and performance

You have to set the USB Fast Charge ON in Battery Menu of Kernel Adiutor and need a charger with output between 1A to 2A, for fast charging.

Have you tried dirty flashing?
Reboot into recovery and without wiping anything, flash the Xenon ROM, then Kernel and gapps, then reboot.
IMO there are only two Roms MIUI 7 and CM 11 Latest
Yup I've tried every rom i could.. From xenonHD to ResurrectionRemix every MM LP rom and kitkat too.. But the thing is if you want to modify your phone up a bit like installing viper and xposed... And even Extreme sound mod... Then these roms are perfect.. Like without any bug or lagg or battery drain... Or anything... Right now i am on cm11 latest thread by Gaurav' which doesn't have bugs anymore. Is working like a charm for me... So yeah!

Wow, it used to be considered bad form to ask about the "best ROM" on XDA. Disrespectful tp the devs who make their work available at no cost most of the time. Guess not any more. I

Yeah as per performance and battery, CM11 does way better job than others. And if you use chappil's kernel with it, then you got yourself Clyde & Bonnie

If you are not concern with your battery life, you can try DOT OS or HAVOC and also, you can try flashing a custom kernels like Darkonah, PHB or Azure, both have overclocked feature for squeezing more power. but for me, better stick with stock rom for better battery and decent performance. :good::good:
Thanks for the advice bro. Im currently using MIUI and this iscthe first time i use custom rom on X00TD and i actually amazed by the battery life and performance of this rom. Im just wondering how other roms performs

Ok, man. The rom which has best gaming performance, least memory usage in this forum is LineageOS but it doesn't have many customization. Look for a Balanced ROM? Try DotOS.

Havoc is a heavy customized ROM and will not give good performance. I tried it and don't have good game performance.

HAVOC is no good imho (bad gps lock and random phone shutdowns)
i tried a LOT of roms over the last year and i just reverted back to latest stockrom since each and every rom seems to have its drawbacks
what works in one rom doesnt work in the other and vice versa
what i would like is a fully debloated stock rom with a battery saving kernel but i have been able to find a rom that has that
I just want to update this thread. Its been almost 5months since i made this thread. Now i have the samw question. Who among you guys know the best rom for gaming? Thanks kn sdvanced.

Try modified Stock ROM
Question is in the title. Really been itching to try custom roms lately with support for Warp Charge 30 (McLaren Edition feature), as well as full Verizon compatibility.
Is there a way to achieve this with a specific Verizon compatible rom as well as the stock OOS kernel?
For example, I've been considering trying out Treskmod as I've heard very good things; pixel features (especially the potential of having call screen) with the customization of Omni sounds amazing. Warp charge is just such a killer feature its kept me on OOS.

If you're willing to take chances, it's worth a try.
Be prepared for the worst and be ready with that msmtool.
You may make a ground-breaking discovery useful to others.
Most ROMS are already compatible with Warp/Dash charge, no need to change kernels.
The "warp charging" title on lockscreen is just cosmetic... some ROMS have it and some don't, but the phone charges just as fast.
Oh and btw, if you flash a kernel meant for OOS on a custom ROM, you'll find some things (like wifi, bluetooth) not working, or the phone not booting at all.

Oh no ****? I was always under the impression it was baked into the kernel.
I'll test it out and report back
