I was replacing my broken screen with a new assembly and I think I may have broke my screen when trying to press the speaker grills in. These dots are whiter than the area around them and are invisible on black. Did I break the screen while pressing the grill in, or is it defective? And can I fix it?

I think i may have found the problem. The upper portion of the last layer of the screen (the reflective layer that has the print on the back) seems to be peeling up. No idea how to fix it.

I sort of fixed it by placing some pads I made with cut up sticky notes pad on the areas where the layer was popped up. Still some distortion on the top dot but it's not so sharp. The left one is gone.

That dot on the left looks like mine (exact same area) when I put the screw in too tight. I loosened it a bit and now it's gone, but that whole row across the screen no longer responds to my touches.

Screen Slide issue

i'm not sure how this started, most likely a drop, but occasionally a spring will appear underneath my screen, and sliding becomes difficult. it seems i can get the spring back in place by putting downward pressure on the screen when sliding, but this only works for so long. i cant imagine the slide portion is difficult to remove, but does anyone have any advice on this issue? thanks.

That is one of the springs that hold the keyboard open, don't try to pull it out. With the slide open you should see the 2 springs on the backside of the screen. To take it apart you need to go in through the battery compartment. There is about 3 levels to get thhrough before you get to the screen. About 10 months ago I replaced the screen, I found avideo walk through on youtube that helps.

good luck with that man...let me know how it goes!
you should be a protective case to prevent things like that happening
thanks guys. i havent actually done anything with this yet. a couple days ago that spring just fell out, and nothing at all seems to be different. i saved the spring in case i feel like putting it back in, in which case ill post on it.

[Q] Lots of dead pixels

Hi all!
I've had my streak since august now, and lately it has developed some screen weirdness in the upper corners. It started in the upper left corner, but it didn't bother me (i can still press the menu-button up there). Now it has duplicated to the upper right corner, and that bothers me some more - i can't see what time it is..
Is there anyone else who's experiencing this kind of problem? Does anyone have a clue what the dell return policy would be in this case? I live in Norway, so i'm not sure i want to return it if the dead pixel patches doesn't grow.. (i'll probably have to pay tax for the phone when they return it in the mail!)

Looks like your LCD broke underneath the glass. It should be covered under warranty, though they might make things difficult for you if there is any visible damage to the outside.

Seems like you have your streak on the trouser pockets most of the time, and in that time seems like it has been pushed against the screen for so long that the pixels are burning... Just my tought. don't know if this is cover under warranty but you can probably get away with it because there is no sign of misuse.

[Q] Plastic layer on camera?

Hi guys,
For a long time I'm wondering is there's a plastic layer on the camera when you buy it. I notice something that could go for a plastic ring-formed layer around the camera lens, that holds a little dust at the rounded edges with time, but cant be pulled off? I tried all differend kind of things, but it won't come off... Still, I asked everyone of my family to see if they agree they see a plastic ring too, and they all said yes..
Have you noticed anything like this on your S4 camera?

Yes, there is a plastic guard on camera.
In my case, it popped out a bit from corner some months ago, which I later pulled off.
I cant seem to pull it..

there is a plastic layer over it
remember I tried to pull it off also and had some trouble since it seem not to remove
try with a sharp razor (at least that way I managed to remove it)

lg g2 vertical stripes on the screen

So my lg g2 fell from a height and the display had these colour changing stripes on it. When I press on the bottom part of the phone, near the LG logo, half of the stripes go away, and then comes back when I release the pressure. Also, when the screen stays on for a few minutes, the screen gets blurry and a slight green tinge is formed. I saw one thread where the problem was the radio wire touching the LCD circuit. But that wasn't in my case. So is my screen really gone or there is something I can try before getting it replaced?

you can try with a heat dryer, open it, remove battery main board....
And then what? I tried opening and saw that the general issue that is the white radio wire touching the lcd circuit is not the case in my phone. I also put a plastic piece of paper on it so it doesn't touch. Is there anything else I can do?

Screen softness?

I've had the phone for 24 hours now, and I've already noticed a lot of tiny scratches at the top of the display (by the camera/2nd screen). Several of these scratches go right across the camera, and they all seem to be going vertically up and down the glass right at the curve point. I truly haven't set this phone down screen side down, and the only thing I can think of is it getting scratched going in and out of my jeans. I keep it in my right front pocket all by itself. I'm super disappointed in the glass so far. Anyone else have this issue?
Edit: Photo's.

Mine did as well, I removed it first thing because it had 4 small bubbles in the middle of the display. I just figured it was for transport like every other phone comes with. I'll post photos in my original post.
