Odin fails whiles flashing stock rom s5 - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to flash the new ANDROID 6.0.1 MARSHMALLOW on my SM-G900F. I downloaded the firmware and went through the normal process but odin3 fails.
One observation i made was when i put the phone in download mode, the model is rather G900P instead of G900F.
please any help on how to flash the phone if I'm doing it all wrong.
Thank you.

Download mode doesn't lie.....If it says you have the P variant then you have the P variant.
If the MM firmware is for a different variant, then I wouldn't carry on with the attempts to flash it.

Yep, you have a G900P made to look like a G900F

Flashing Stock Lollipop Touchwiz ROM?

My Note 3 (SM-N900, Exynos) is currently booting CM 13. I'm gonna sell this phone, so I need to flash the stock Touchwiz firmware that the phone came with out of the box i.e, 5.0 Lollipop.
1. Since my phone runs Marshmallow right now, should I flash a Lollipop bootloader before I flash the stock Lollipop Touchwiz firmware?
2. I'm from India, and I'm a bit confused because there seems to be two firmwares for my region - INS and INU. Which one should I flash?
3. I've been told I should use Odin to flash the firmware, so is there any chance I might brick the phone? or lose the root status?
I'd be grateful if someone could help me out with the above questions. Thanks!
Flashing a stock rom with Odin will lose root. No need to flash anything before flashing stock with Odin.
Use Samsung phone info app from the play store, find the pda and csc. Then match stock rom pda/CSC to the phone.

Click to collapse
I only see the info about Product Code, Baseband and Bootloader. The PDA and CSC fields are just blank. What do I do now?
Flash the firmware for your network or the original network .
Boot into download mode, confirm the model, and flash a rom from sammobile.com.

Confused with model

mm hello guys, developers firs sorry for my bad English ... lately I've got phone which is i9500 which is written under battery on that label and in about phone but I discovered that the phone is rooted !! I didn't root it and when I wanted to flash something I went to download mode and discovered that the model is SGH-i337 which mean that phone is at&t so now I wanna flash my stock USA at&t ROM so I downloaded it from sammobile the question is ..is it safe to flash sgh-i337 stock firmware by Odin ???
thank you who would answer me
Boot the phone into download mode and read the model #. That is the true model # of the motherboard and those are the ROMs you should be flashing.
the written model is sgh-i337 so its safe to flash stock by Odin
thanks
You may not be able to flash a stock ROM with Odin for the sgh-i337 if it has a locked bootloader.
AT&T locked the bootloader starting with 4.3 and there is no stock ROM for the i337 after 4.2.2 because AT&T only released the updates as over-the-air updates.
Look for solutions in the General threads like this for example:

[Q] Odin back to 6.0.1 from 7.0

I'm new to the S7 edge and was wondering if I could flash back to G935VVRU4API3 (6.0.1) from G935VVRU4BQF2 (7.0)?
Yeap you should have no problem doing so just throw that phone into download mode and flash
Awesome. I read that you can't flash backward from the latest 6.0.1 stock ROM to earlier because of bootloader changes. Last thing I want to do is brick my new phone.
your fine just make sure to use the PH1 update and youre good

Bricked my dad's N900W8 (various questions)

I've flashed and root several android phones before and this time I kind a messed up, trying to flash the Enoxys version of the Android 7.1 onto my N900W8 (turns out it was Snapdragon? which. I was able to flash TWRP on the phone and when I try to flash the actual ROM on it, it failed at partitioning the data in ext4. I can probably grab a stock rom (although most of the links are dead now) and flash over it.
My questions:
Does anyone still have the N900 LTE modem that can be flash on N900W8?
Has anyone able to flash the US/Canada varian straight to international version?
Most of the links that I found on the forum for stock firmware had been dead, is there a current "up-to-date" spot to grab the firmware for this old phone?

[Hard Problem] Unable to boot up after flashing

Hey guys, I got an Samsung Galaxy Note3 That really stuck on logo before flashing the device. The model number is SM-N9005. I tried to flash the device with the never version of Android and it doesn't work. I tried to flash with the older version and custom rom but it still did the same. I can't figure it out what's the problem. I hope you guys help me out with this issues. I use odin v3.0.7 and if you guys had any suggestion using the other device please let me know about it. Thanks
Just download the stock firmware for your device
Just download the stock firmware for your device from sammobile.com it's free and flash it with Odin
This will put you on 5.0 lollipop but then you can just flash twrp and install any other custom ROM and btw I think that the problem you are facing is because you didn't flash the new bootloader and modem for the ROM you tried installing.
