Bricked my Galaxy Grand Prime (Cricket) - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I bricked my new toy, luckily it has nothing important on it--except for a lot of dank memes, I do mean a lot.
Anyways here what I did:
-Downloaded kingoroot
-Rooted Device with no custom recovery (my bad)
-It fell out of my pockets therefore the batteries came out
-When I turned it back on I was greeted with Kernel security error
-Kies doesn't recognize it nor does Odin
Now I'm here.

Boot into download mode (vol. Down + home + power) then press vol. Up to enter download mode. Now plug in your USB and Odin should see it. Flash new firmware (stock firmware should un-brick it)

Quick question, it's really nothing: Did you bother reading my post at all?

Yup, you never said that you went in download mode when it wasn't being recognized, so I assumed you were connecting it to usb on the error screen.

I have the same problem, no download mode on my G2 (European version, stock kitkat without root, bought it a week ago).
Just to be safe, the way I tried to launch it into download mode was:
1. Powering off the device.
2. Holding the volume up button.
3. Plugging in the USB cable (while still holding the volume up button)
The LG logo shows up for a while, after which the charging animation shows ups...

Your phone must be turned off
So, press power button and select “power off”.
Then, press the volume up button on your LG G2.
While you are holding the volume up button, plug in your phone’s USB cable.
Keep pressing the Volume up button until the download mode is being displayed.
that is the known method for G2 unless you flashed a custom boot-loader or changed the keys to enter download mode or recovery etc .... now try to enter a hard reset mode but don't apply it or all your data will be gone i say again don't approve it it is power+Vol down
if it works i think the keys combination are still in default then try to enter download mode again
if it didn't work return the mobile to be fixed or changed
Thanks for your reply!
The method you described is the same as the one I used, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I can't seem to get it to boot into recovery either...
I believe this reddit post describes my problem:
https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg2/comments/2n4gqa/unrooted_lg_g2_on_stock_android_442_kitkat_will/
The OP's conclusion is:
So I rooted and installed AutoRec and that got me Download Mode. Afterwards I used LG Flash Tool to flash the stock KDZ file onto my device to unroot it and to see if Download Mode is still enabled which it was not.
I believe this is LG's way of preventing users from upgrading to unofficial/unreleased firmware.

I managed to fix the issue by performing an emergency recovery using LG software. It must have been caused by one of the OTA updates.

Problem with my S4 GT-i9500 (Stuck in boot mode, bricked)

Hello.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500. I tried to downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat using Odin but I messed up in the process of doing so. Now my phone won’t turn on at all unless plugged into the PC via USB cable. When I plug it in, my PC doesn’t recognize it and an error message with a caution sign flashes on the screen. When I try to go into boot mode (holding the Power button + volume down + home) the menu shows up, but when I try to enter the boot mode it doesn’t respond. The only way I can get into the boot mode is when I remove the battery and immediately press the down volume.
Does anyone know what I can do here? Thank you.

Hi,
Do you mean Download Mode?
Could you try to enter Download Mode with battery removed and flash again your firmware with ODIN? Let me know.

Yeah sorry, I meant download mode.
I've tried that method before but to no avail. My phone is currently at the repair shop, hopefully the pros can find a solution to it.
Thanks for the reply

Cannot enter recovery mode after updating CM13 nightly

Hey guys,
I feel totally stupid for writing this post but I'm actually out of ideas how to get out of my situation. Also I didn't find any comparable topic here on xda. So let's hope you can help me and a big thanks in advance!
First of all i have a flashed D802 running TWRP and CM13, which worked well the last weeks. I thought about updating to the todays nightly as it is already a few weaks since I did my last update. I downloaded the nightly via the CM downloader and started the installation with running phone. It rebooted into recovery mode and installed the nightly without any problems. After the installation was completed the phone automatically rebooted and this is where the problem starts.
I am stuck in "bootloop?" at the CM logo. It is not automatically restarting after a while but just loading and loading and nothing further happens. I am not able to enter the recovery mode via the factory reset (Pressing Vol Down + Power, releasing after the lg logo appears, pressing and holding the power button again).
This never happened to me and as I am not able to enter TWRP I am not able to install a previous release or a backup. What am I doing wrong this time and what can I do?
Thanks for your support!
have you tried flashing a stock rom?

Actually I don't really know how to do this when I'm not able to enter the recovery mode? Is there a certain way to do this?
In the meantime I managed to enter the recovery mode / TWRP via a mode I don't know how it is called. I pressed vol down + pw btn, released after the LG logo appeared and pressed vol up + vol down. I guess my userdata is deleted by now, which shouldn't be a big deal but I am getting redirected to the recovery mode. I tried to install the yet working CM13 nightly but it has the same problems now.
Now I have two questions:
Does anyone know which part of the system is broken now / which part I need to update in order to get my phone back to life?
Is the download mode working if my phone is rooted? I am able to enter this mode.

yes you can enter the download mode: turn down your phone, press and hold volume up button and connect the usb cable, release volume up when your screan shows dowload mode.
then follow this tutorial to restore your phone back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

A20e stuck in download mode

Hi,
I have a new a20e (a202f) out of the box.
I followed another guide to root and install twrp which turns out was wrong. I unlocked the bootloader just fine.
I have no backup, no personal boot.img or anything.
Essentially I am stuck in download mode and restarting takes me straight back to download mode.
Recovery: Error validating footer.
SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE"
Cheers guys
What guide did you follow? You have to download your stock fw from sites like sammobile then from there you can have the boot.img and etc. Have you tried flashing stock fw using odin?
Note: Usually you flash vbmeta for footer error when you flash twrp.

It was a guide on 'unofficialtwrp.com' - I can't link things here yet.
I have since tar'ed an unpatched twrp (TWRP-3.3.1.0_A20_by_Agrim720.img) + vbmeta.img + boot.img (from https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/help/boo-img-a205fxxu2asfb-t4008739), then I flashed through AP on Odin and now I think it boots past the download mode but instead it now has fuzzy dark red screen with nothing legible.
Oh bugger, I've been a class A plum.
Can I get out of this horrible mess?

Well you have to use your own boot.img from your fw, not all of use the same fw that's why, some are still on u2, u3 and u4. Maybe the boot.img you got isnt the same as your fw.
Well you can start from scratch and reflash your stock fw in odin.

Try holding volume - and power and your phone will turn off, as soon as it turns off press volume + & - and plug your usb cable that is connected to a computer.
No luck with that. It displays the message about running custom os etc and to press power to continue. So I press it and it boots to the messed up red/pink/black display.

Do you mean like the one attached? If yes you havent booted to download mode.
Try booting to recovery by holding volume + and power while you turn on the phone.
There is a option there to boot to download mode.

Yes that screen. I've tried your suggestion with volume + but that also ends up with messed up screen
Yes so currently I'm unable to get to recovery (not sure it even flashed properly), unable to get to download mode, or to get the device recognised in odin.
I'm unable to power off. The screen is blank and when I press power it flickers shortly with some black/white/red pink colours around the edges, but the screen quickly turns blank.
From this position I can only restart by holding volume - and power.
This boots to the samsung logo and then the 'bootloader unlocked' warning. No amount of button configs have proved successful so far, and then I end up back at the blank screen.
I'm happy to start from scratch. I have downloaded the stock firmware but I'm simply unable to proceed.
Aslo the device is not recognised in windows at any point.
Thanks guys

Are you sure you pressed and hold volume +&- and plugging cable before the samsung logo pops up? You have to do it quickly right after the device turns off. You shoudn't see the bootloader warning if you done this quickly and correctly.

Hello -
Please trust me when I tell you that it can be fixed. I had the EXACT same problem and drove me crazy for 24 hours. You can deffinetly fix your phone once you get to download mode.
I had the same issue where I could not turn the phone OFF it just looped back and I pushed buttons for hours to no avail... Then some one told me it WILL WORK, it is just the timing of
the button pushing, AND the USB cable plug in. Sure enough he was right. It took me alot of tries and I even took my phone apart and un plugged the battery so I could controll the power
ON / OFF better and time the button's easier. Here is what I did ...
unplug battery so phone was 100% OFF.
Plug in battery ( phone is still OFF )
Hold Vol - then Hold Power and Vol -
As soon as the power started IMEDITALY PLUG IN USB ( have USB READY to be plugged in FAST )
DONT let go of buttons ... screen will flash quickly and then Imediatly let go of power keep holding Vol -
IF you timed this right, IT WILL proced to download mode. If not, then start over again from power OFF ( step 01 )
It took me 3 tries to get it ( after 50+ tries before ) lol
Now I am not sure about the battery unplugging ... maybe you dont need to, but it mad it work for me as I could control the power ON part of this now.
Getting to your battery is not very hard and there is a you tube video on how to do it... if you need help just PM ME.
Good luck friend.
When this happened to me all I did was hold volume up and volume down. Kept cord connected to computer. Connected to device during the bootloop and boom within seconds I was in download mode. It catches it once screen goes off in between the bootloop.

Thanks you guys. In the end the battery died and then I could power up whilst holding vol+, straight to recovery and then I could flash stock rom.
Much appreciation for your help guys, it got me out of a pinch - it is my mother-in-law's new phone!

[HELP NEEDED] Dead S10+ (SM-G975F)

Hey guys, I have a little problem and could need some Help fixing my S10+ (G975F)
What did I do:
- Flashed latest TWRP from TWRP.me + vbmeta
What happened:
- My S10 was stuck in a endless bootloop at the S10 logo, didn't boot to download mode or TWRP and my PC didn't recognize it.
My problem now:
I let the phone in that bootloop over night to let the battery discharge. Next day when it was powered of I tried entering download mode by pressing volume down + bixby and connecting the cable to my pc but the screen was just staying black, after releasing the volume down and bixby key but keeping the cable connected it started with the bootloop again, so right now there i'm out of ideas, I just can't enter the download mode or TWRP.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Best regards, Jan

Did you tried to enter recovery?
And BTW samsung download mode is super strong almost impossible to brick you aren't trying key combination correctly to enter download mode or recovery.
When phone is restarting to enter download mode
Just
Hold bixby, volume down and while holding these, put the usb-c cable in the s10+ when connected to the PC.

If I press bixby and volume down while being connected to PC I just get a blackscreen
What happened when it went to black screen instead of download mode? I mean what its shows in pc?specifically in odin? While on black screen try tu press volume up and to proceed download mode even though there is black screen if then it shows in odin then you can flash stock.
Did you unlock boot loader before flashing twrp? Did you?
any update on that?
