How to use AOSP MusicFX on Cyanogenmod, instead of CM's AudioFX? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When using a Cyanogenmod ROM, is it possible to use AOSP's stock MusicFX equalizer instead of CM's AudioFX?
Thanks!

what is cyanogenmod ? how it differs from custom rom?

what can we do with cyanogenmod?
Roms based on stock (that is 2.3.6 GB) are mere unzip/re zip of stock Samsung files with added scripts/tweaks also modded systemui/apps and themed to the liking of rom chef . Cyanogen mod is also a custom Rom in the sense that it is not a factory made image but it differs from others in the fact that it is built ground up from aosp vanila android source code.
i suggest u to use search button or google for such topics....
cyanogenmod is the aftermarket version of an android os....
like for gingerbread 2.3.7 their is cm7 and for ics their is cm9
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app
cyanogenmod is basically a custom rom built from original android sources from AOSP.

Viper on aosp

I was just wondering doors viper for android play nice with aosp roms.I ask this because there's always manager and I figured there was probably a reason that?

Some ROM questions

I don't normally like asking this type of question but...
I am looking for a JWR based rom (ie without deadlocks and not CM based) which has some specific features. I have looked at lots of ROM descriptions but none are specific enough. Is anyone able to recommend something that has these features please?
CM profiles
Customisable QuickSettings
QuickSettings Quickpulldown
Notification lights manager (preferably CMs )
Quicklaunch
As far as I am aware, Slimbean, PA don't have CM's profiles. Purity might but it doesn't say. I say not CM based because I am having troubles with the latest nightlies, I am starting to get annoyed by the deadlocks, and I would like to use a custom kernel without having to mess with the libs! I do like their features though as you can see
Slim has profiles; it will successfully restore your existing CM profiles via Google's cloud b/u when you set up your phone as well.

I believe it has all of those things, 99.8% sure.
Odyssey is based on Slim, so it also has those features... plus some extras.

CM 10.2 and Touch Control - which kernel?

I just updated my phone to CM 10.2. When I load touch control, it asks which kernel is most like the one I'm using, but there is no CM option.
Does Touch Control work with 10.2? If so, which kernel should I select?
You need to flash a supported kernel

CM kernel doesn't support it. You can use Faux kernel, or I recommend NEO kernel, just know that CM use CAF, so you need to use a CAF compatible kernel or flash a deCAF package to fix the colors.

Franco Kernel On CyanogenMod 12.1?

Hi,
I want to see if i can get Franco Kernel on my Nexus 4 running CyanogenMod 12.1. I tried using auto flash on the Franco Kernel app on the app store and it gave me a warning stating it might not work... Any suggestions whether it works or not? I don't want to ruin my phone
I tried this yesterday and my Nexus 4 was stuck in a bootloop after until I reflashed CM 12.1.
In short; no, don't do it.
There is two different types of Rom's and kernels. There is those that are based on AOSP and those who are based on CAF.
You can't mix different types of Rom's and kernels. So to you can't use a AOSP kernel on a CAF Rom and vice verca.
CM is a CAF based Rom and Franco kernel is an AOSP based kernel. So you can't use those together.
