Hello All,
I am new to the Samsung Galaxy S series of phones...actually I'm new to any Samsung android device. So with this Galaxy S4 I'm trying to figure things out that came standard with HTC androids that I have had before this phone. One thing that I can't figure out is how to save downloads onto the microsd. For instance, any attachments that I get on my email through the gmail app...in the past when I downloaded any attachments on my HTC devices it would download onto the microsd in the "downloads" folder; but now on the Galaxy S4 anything that I download goes to the "Downloads" folder on the devices internal storage (sdcard). The same goes for MMS images and files...on my prior devices the images and files would save directly onto the microsd, but on the Galaxy S4 it saves to the same "Downloads" folder on the internal storage (sdcard). I thought this was something simple that could be done by changing some settings, since I never really gave it some thought with my prior devices...but it seems that there's really no way of doing this; at least none that I have found. I tried doing some research on this forum and online, and really didn't find anything that answered my questions. It might not seem like a big deal to most, but it seems like something that should be standard functionality, being able to download files and attachments straight to the microsd; instead of having to constantly move them from the internal sdcard to the microsd...it just seems tedious to keep on doing this. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.

Try Airdroid.
With it you send files to your phone via WIFI. This will somehow bypass the writing protection of the phone.
I'm using it myself as I can't find any other way around, only this works
:good: :good: :good:.You the King .I did as you said. The files copied fully over airdroid. The game is working fully.Realy appreciate it.Airdroid is awesome. One more thing, Is there a way to run games off the external sd card and not the device internal storage as the device internal storage is only 8gb on the samsung galaxy s4 mini

Use airdroid, or copy the files to your external sd card and then transfer it to your Android folder on the phone itself. I use ES File Explorer to do the job
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
From external sdcard copy to the internal sdcard
another way is to copy the rar file and extract it on the device

FolderMount is your friend. Google it up.
The reason you cant copy large files into that folder is because 4.2 has new folder permissions on the Android folder. Getting through them is tricky. I usually just let the app make the folder and then let it download like 1%. Then use FolderMount to set up a mirror in external card and copy the obb file into external card. :good:
transfer big files to extsd
Transfer big files (such as fifa) to sd card via gl to sd ...make sure after transferring u must open the game through gltosd only !
Hello everone,
i'm facing a really heavy problem with my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. Since i wanted to change the internal with the external storage, i found out that there is the option to replace the original "vold.fstab". At this time i had root access of course. Everything worked fine at this moment, until i decided to do a factory reset, including delete USB storage (which was the fake internal storage now, because it switched). To make things even more difficult, i deinstalled the root access. The phone still works fine, but i completely lost access to my 32GB sd card and can't download anything anymore. My phone keeps saying "Couldn't download...".
I'm not the biggest smartphone genius, but i already tried a few things.
1. I've tried to use Odin, to flash the original firmware. But i was unable to get a connection in download mode.
2. I tried to replace the modded "vold.fstab" with the original one. But it's not possible withouth root access.
3. I tried Kango Root. Not working.
I appreciate any help i can get. Thanks in advance!
Hi guys, i'm running a Galaxy J500h model, Marshmallow 6.0.1
And i'm kinda running low on internal storage, my phone's rooted.
I have link2sd, app2sd, and root essentials app on my phone but the processes there to permit installation, running, and transfer of apps to external sdcard wont work on me :3
Might there ba any suggestions?
Thank you so much
I have a on5 and ive had the problem sence i got the phone and its been about 1 year now that ive had no space, im alway sitting at around 400mb of internal storage and i was wondering if there was a way that i could clear out some of it, i have a 16gb sdcard and all the app that i have downloaded(which is only 5) are moved to my sdcard
The device is also rooted, and i have all of my pictures off of the phones internal storage and on the external or backed up with google photos
Apps i have installed to the device-
-Snapchat
-Messenger
-Instagram
-Pandora
-Titanium Backup
I have the same problem with my Metro edition, and am not getting the entire storage capacity that i should have. If anybody knows how to fix this it would be appreciated.
