I'm on the Tmobile G928T variant, but I can't get this thing to backup any apps. I get the error not not having enough storage space available, no matter where I change the directory to I still get the same error.
Unmark on SuperSU settings "Mount namespace separation", good luck.

Hi guys, Im having a little trouble, hoping somebody could tell me what Im missing or should be doing differently. I am currently on 2.2 OTA. i just rooted using RoOoLeR's Guide to ROOT / BACKUP / ROMS for 2.2 OTA (sticky under hacks). I then downloaded Bootstrap. Opened the app and hit "bootstrap recovery", got the pop-up saying "Success". Then i rebooted into recovery and started a nandroid backup. about a minute into it, it failed and gave me the following message.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1)
(Device or resource busy)
Can't mount /sdcard/.android_secure!
I have yet to install rom manager and load any custom roms beacuse i want to make sure i have a good backup before doing anything.
Suggestions? Thank you so much in advance.

It sounds like you have an issue with the SD card. I would backup the data on the card to a PC, format it blank, and the let the X reinitialize it.
I have about 60mb free in the /system/apps and would like to move my apps that are on the /data/apps partition to the system memory... so that way I don't have to worry about memory going down on the apps i know I want to keep..
Currently running cyanogen 6.0. I tried using root explorer to move the apps to the system but when i install them they aren't actually in the /system/app...
Thanks,
-Nigel
If you're using root explorer you don't actually "install" them. You just move them to the /system/app/ dir. After you do that you'll probably have to change the permissions on the file. To do that:
long press the .apk
select permissions
select all of the boxes on the 'read' column (left column)
select the 'user' 'write' box (top middle)
uncheck the other 5 if needed
You'll most likely have to reboot afterwards and you might need to clear the cache/davlik in recovery if you're getting FC's
If they're still not showing up fix the uid apk permissions in recovery or terminal
Recovery:
other > fix uid mismatches
Terminal emulator:
Code:
su
fix_permissions
Get Titanium backup for root -> Under "Batch" operations you have an option to move apps to SD and vice versa. You can select apps that you would like to move and run it.
Thanks for the reply.
The above method worked perfectly fine!
I think my problem was that I didn't reboot or wipe the chache...lol I just expected everything to be updated and when I checked it it still didn't chnage I was a little confused.! Awesome. Just freed up about 40mb!
I have titanium backup but dont' want to install apps to the SD card... I don't see that as a benefit.. when there is space else where that will never get used. Where as the SD cardw will keep growing due to music and things like that..
thansk for the help!!

I have a Sprint GN3. I've rooted with CF Auto Root, flashed TWRP, flashed Jellybomb, and then restored back to stock from a nandroid backup. I've come across a few different errors, and I'm not sure if they're related or not.
For one thing, when I try to download a file in Chrome, I get a "No SD Card" error, even though both the SD card and the internal storage have plenty of space.
And then for the Audible.com app, even after clearing all the data, and uninstalling and reinstalling, I get the following error:
Failed to save your library to your device. /storage/emulated/0/Audible/<snip>: open failed: ENOENT (no such file or directory)
And it's right, I don't have an Audible directory in there, or anywhere else that I can find.
So my question is: Is that likely the correct path for the Audible app to save my data, and if so, why could it not create the Audible directory there?
And could that have anything to do with Chrome not being able to see or write to storage?
Thanks.
Edit: So I tried to manually create the Audible directory in /storage/emulated/0/ with Astro, and it wouldn't let me do it. Then I tried with Total Commander, and it worked, but I also go the "Total Commander has been granted superuser permissions" popup.
Then when I run Audible, I now get a EACCESS (permission denied) error.
So did I somehow set my internal storage to read only other than for root?
Possible solution.
Hi, it has been over a year since you asked this question, but I figured I'd respond anyway. I was experiencing a similar problem (exact same error that you describe) with my galaxy s4 provided by FreedomPop - I think it stemmed from their special version of android that they pre-installed on the phone. Anyway, their support staff suggested installing and running a program called "folder mount (root)" - it ran and found 2 errors, I had to re-boot my phone, and it completely fixed my problem.. Hope this helps
Glad you posted. Not much info out there on this issue, and your fix worked. Thanks.
thanks to the brilliant efforts of all the members here at xda forums I was able to root my Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 bought may 2014 out of warranty (didn't need even though had no root) bought may 2014 successfully all things work fine my question is that:
titanium backup detects both backup directories as valid shows all the files but says with extSdCard shows a red folder saying "This folder is not writeable" what's the deal here and how to fix it
additional question not related to this topic exactly but better than starting another thread
I didn't use triangle away and don't give a fudge about knox counter but would really like to remove knox and all its components from phone
the stuff that's on the phone is taking a lot of space and I want some of it back
any help would be appreciated

Enter titanium backup preferences and go to the "backup folder location" setting. Next, touch the "storage provider" and select something else, like documents provider if available.
This may fix that problem.
As for knox, just do a Google search on what apps belong to knox and delete them with titanium backup.

as I understand using your method does show the backup location in extSdCard
but the entire root directory containing system file i.e.
/storage says not writeable
/storage/extSdCard not writeable
/storage/emulated/ not writeable
but
/storage/emulated/0
/storage/emulated/legacy
are accessible by TB here it says <<Create New Folder>>
I'm going like this {} trying to solve this over and over navigating file path changing locations
also does freezing BusyBox would effect this
or is it affected by SuperSU's Mount namespace separation
I'm very confused and frustrated because finding an alternative to TB would be a miracle

My method was a temporary fix for when marshmallow first released and app permissions were f'd up. It had the same problem. Thought it might help you too.
You can restore apps from the sdcard, but you can't backup to it.
Busybox is required for pretty much any rooted app. It also doesn't show up in Titanium Backup normally.
Maybe you should update it or install another version.
Or try the sd fix app by nextapp inc.

Hi,
This issue is widely known since lollipop. Use document provider to choose your backup folder location in TB preferences.
Thanks it worked
