Hi Guys, hopefully someone can help me here it is driving me crazy - well, here is my issue.
Doesnt matter what PC I plug my HD into it doesnt get picked up, i looked in device manager and still nothing. Its like its not connected, but it shows on the phone that it is charging. And does charge.
Can someone please help?
Thanks!
Settings - Connection - USB to PC - uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality'
All that was there is ' Enable faster data synchronization '
No advanced network functionality. Im on Telstra NextG Network Australia with there crappy stock rom if that helps.
I'm looking at a stock Touch HD and you're right- they changed the name of the box. So uncheck 'enable faster data synchronization'.
I did but it is still not working.
I have also done a hard reset and restore to manufacturers default and still not working.
What kind of PC are you using? Is it XP? If so you need to download ActiveSync.
Using XP.. I have downloaded and installed Activesync. It used to be picked up on every pc and suddenly now it doesnt.
Opened Activesync ports in your firewall settings?
Yeah its all fine, its as though the PC doesnt even recognise it. Doesnt show up in Disk Management.
hi lucky
you're already the 3rd one with this problem.
if you plug-in the usb connector, is there a dialog popping up on your hd which let's you choose between synch or hd mode?
if not, welcome to the group of disapointed htc owners.
there is already a thread somewhere about this problem. i have exactly the same, but no one could help me until now.
at least i found a way to flash a rom. the usb connection was working for about 20 minutes. afterwards it broke down again...
try the following:
1. shut down hd
2. remove SD and Sim Card
3. plug in the usb cable
4. do a hard reset by holding vol up and vol down while you press the power button
5. confirm the hardware reset
6. when the hd is booting up again, it will do some kind of customization process. during this process active sync should come up on your pc. cancel the device setup in acive sync and wait until your hd is completely configured.
7. afterwards reconnect the usb cable and active sync should work for a while...
let me know if it helped. i'm still searching for a permanent solution for this problem...
Nope, didnt work at all.
Not even the choice to decide what I want to do pops up on the phone.
Do you think it could be a hardware fault?
I think it is a hardware fault because i did a SPL boot and instead of 'USB' showing in the white box "Serial" did.
It just seems wierd because it was working fine for 2 weeks and then it all the sudden stopped and I did no ROM flashing or anything.
Should I try reflashing my device through the SD card and see how I go from there?
did you try a different cable???
I have about 20 different USB -> mini USB and only about 2/3 of them work with phones !!!
Yeah ive tried all different cables, ive tried ones that work with my diamond but still dosent work with my hd.

Are you getting anything popping up in device manager when you plug it in, in other words does the list refresh like it has detected a new hardware device or is it completely silent? I have seen it a couple of times where a device gets stuck as being recognized as something else. If the list does scroll (responds to the HD being plugged in) do a screen shot of everything in DM then plug the HD in and compare the lists to see if it is showing up as something else. If so, delete the device then unplug and plug in the HD again and have it reinstall the driver.
Good luck,
Gordo
I did what you said Gordo, and it doesnt show up inDevice Manager. Its as though its not even plugged in but for some reason it still recharges off the USB.
I guess about the only other thing I can think of is to plug it in on another PC and see if that computer tries to load a driver. If it does then it is something strange with your computer. If it doesn't then there is something bad with the USB port on the HD (maybe).
Gordo
Yeah I tried that but still nothing, im sending it back to Telstra, since its within 14 days of me getting it I get a whole brand new one!
thanks for your help guys
So my 16 day old Desire HD has decided to spontaneously die on me.
I was driving along using google maps to navigate when the screen just went blank. Nothing would restart it, so eventually I pulled the battery. Now it boots up only to the white screen with the green HTC logo.
About one try in every 10 I can get the bootloader screen, factory reset has worked twice, but a few minutes after recovering the phone crashes again and will only boot to the same white screen.
It won't connect to my PC in recovery mode to attempt to reflash the ROM, all I get from the RUU is connection error 170.
I tried to return it to the shop, but there are none available in the region, so the best they can do is put me on a waiting list for a replacement next week- possibly.
How can I reflash the ROM from an SD card?
Although I'm tempted to stop trying to fix it in case I get it running OK and the store refuses to exchange it, in case there is a hardware fault in memory or something.
Hi there, have a specific problem, tried to google and search through the forum but no success.
I have stock ROM with 4.2.1 android, no root etc., I was browsing web via Firefox, opened 3 pages, battery cca 48% when suddenly everthing freezed, even home button and whole screen become unresponsive. I pressed the Power button for several seconds to turn it off and to restart it, however the screen is off all the time. I have tried to do hard reset, hold the power button for 30-180 seconds, hold all 3 hardware buttons for 30-180 seconds, hold just power and one volume button, connect to PC (always connects as Unknown device, not able to load any driver), tried all of this with and without power supply connected. After all this I am still not able to boot the device. Any idea?
Try unbricking Nexus 7 guide
Hi, you should always be able to get your Nexus 7 back to factory defaults by following one of the many "unbrick nexus 7" guides, like:

Good luck !
unfortunately I am not able to flash it as my screen is still black, I do not see whether it is on or not, I am also not able to connect it to computer as it still pops up message that the device is unknow and I am not able to install any driver for it, nor automatically, nor google usb drivers... still getting unknown device message...
I'd just return it to Google and get a new one

Ouch ! That sounds like a broken device to me. I'd also RMA it.
Have you try plugging your tablet into your charger and check if your device is charging or not? (you'll see a battery status in the center of the screen) if so try to charge it for an hour or so and then after that try to press the ff.
while your tablet is off press and hold both vol. up and vol. down button then press and hold the power button. keep it press for at least 10 secs. and see if you can go/access your fastboot mode..
charged for more than 4 hours, tried that, did not helped, already sent for repair... hopefully will be changed for new one...
Just pry off the back and unplug the battery, ubereasy and will work fine again. Unless you got a lemon

so at the end it was faulty motherboard, so I receveid new device...
First off, I did search.
Second, My N7 wouldnt wake up today, so I assumed it was dead. I plugged it into the charger, and sure enough, the little charging indicator came on the screen. I gave it 30 mins and tried to fire it up. The Google screen came up, but it never moved past that. I tried force restart multiple times, but it just goes to the Google screen, and if I leave it there the thing gets hot. I tried to go into recovery, but same thing, hangs at Google. I know there is a bug in the bootloader about being plugged in via USB, but my computer doesn't even find it. I deleted the drivers and restarted, searched for new hardware and nothing. Google screen. It is all stock, minus an unlocked bootloader. And I tried two different cables that both work with my MoPho. My concern is that I won't be able to return it if the bootloader is unlocked. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

You can give it a try to return it. Where did you buy the tablet? If it was a retailer store, just try and return it.

Can you get to fastboot at all? Did you flash anything prior to shutting it down last time?
I've dealt with a few bricked phones in the past that have been a simple fix through ADB/Recovery, but this one really perplexes me.
So I get work, place my phone on the desk, and a few minuets into the day I see it re-boot out of the corner of my eye. It's not something to be expected but this has happened a few time over the 5 months I've had this phone so I think nothing of it.
But 5 minuets later its still looping on the Google logo. So hold down the sleep button to shut it down, still loops. The only thing I have done to this phone is unlock the bootloader through the command prompt and install a stock Nougat image straight from Google
Using the hardware keys I can get into the the bootloader, but that's it. "Recovery Mode" option sends the phone back into a loop so I can't reset the phone to factory (though ideally I would like to save the thousands of photos on the device) or enable USB Debugging as I can't get into Android.
I have Googles Android USB Driver installed, Windows 10 chimes when I plug it in, It appears in Device Manager as "Android Bootloader Interface" but I have not been able to get it to show in the terminal with ADB. I have also tried on a Windows 7 and OSX Laptop.
I am completely dumbfounded, any help/ideas would be amazing!
Thank you

Hi... There is no available fix for the moment. Check this thread. You are not alone

Unfortunately @5.1 is right. The common denominator of the BLOD (many threads on this) is the inability to get into recovery mode by any means. ADB doesn't work unless in recovery. Without ADB you will not be able to pull anything off the phone. At least you are unlocked so you can try some tools and/or manually attempt to fastboot boot or fastboot flash a custom recovery and get ADB working, but chances are almost non-existent. Some ppl have been able to briefly get back into recovery on completely full charge, but it seems to start boot looping again shortly afterwards from recovery. Hopefully you were using Photos and synced recently. If you bought direct from Google, contact them even if out of warranty. If they won't help you or you didn't buy from Google, approach Huawei for an RMA.
I was in your situation and was able to flash the full stock image (flash-all.bat command) even though my device didn't show up on ABD--but maybe I just got lucky. I thought there was no chance it would work but it did. Some people reported getting out of the boot loop using Skipsoft's tool but most likely you will need to RMA the device if it's still under warranty from Huawei. Sorry to hear you have been added to this club. There are a lot of lemon 6Ps that die because of hardware issues (according to Google) and they clearly don't care because they never recalled the affected devices. I was hoping it was just the early generation phones but if yours is 5 months old that means the problem is persisting. None of these things might still be running in a couple years which is ridiculous for a premium phone. Makes you think twice about buying another phone from Google since they threw 6p owners under the bus rather than offering 6P owners a credit or something for their defective 6Ps. Good luck. At this point I think people need to create a class action suit against Google. That's the only way people got repairs or compensation from Apple the numerous times they pulled stuff like this with defective products. Why should Google get away with selling what they themselves admit is a defective phone?
