I like to have my phone sitting sideways to watch movies, kodi, YouTube, etc. Is there anyone who can suggest a speaker mod that allows the volume to go up to the front? Even a ghetto cardboard diy thing or something..lol. I currently use a stereo headunit case to tilt it up and have the volume hit the side to come forward.

Hi
I'm looking for a wired or wireless solution that would allow me to change tracks and volume while on riding on my motorbike and listening to mp3s from my kaiser. I'm using my own 3.5mm wired stereo headphones, and the Kaiser is in my jacket pocket (rain etc).
The ideal solution would be a device mounted to the handlebar, which would connect to the Kaiser via bluetooth and allow me to skip tracks, change volume etc. I've seen one in a brochure on the Cologne Intermot convention, but didn't manage to find it on google. Endless google searching for other similar devices also didn'treturn anything useful.
I know there's also a wired headset for HTC devices out there which has these functions, but as far as I could see from the pictures, the buttons are quite close to each other, which would make it difficult to use with thick gloves.
Any suggestions what could work here ?
I don't know if this is the one you already saw or not, http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140889
Hope this helps.
for me the jaber (Jabra BT3030)
I use a Jabra BT320s. It's not fancy but the buttons for pause and skip back/forward are located around the outside and pretty glove-friendly (summer gloves at least). The volume buttons on the front aren't too bad but it is easy to push the answer button in the middle and start Voice Commander when you really want a bit more volume.
Volume isn't the best on a 'bike so I suggest using in-ear noise suppressing earphones.
The good thing is that. if you can clip the unit somewhere close to your mouth and out of the wind and angle the microphone towards your mouth, you can actually carry on a proper phone conversation too.

This gives you what you want in terms of steering control.
Often when I'm watching a video on my phone I cup my hand behind the speaker to direct the sound out front at me instead of out the back. Anyone know of any cradles/docks that do this? Doesn't have to be powered at all, it's more about using the existing speaker and standing it up.
I like to listen to audible.com books with my phone. On my HTC M8, I could use the 3 botton headphone remote to pause playback, or advance or jump back using the buttons on the headphone remote.
On some other phones, the 2nd and 3rd buttons either do nothing, or can only be used to adjust volume.
Has anybody used the included wired headphone remote, or another one, to skip forward or back on the ZTE Axon 7?
I do not use Audible, but the included headphone remote only has volume up and down, with a middle button that pauses. If your app has settings that let you customize the remote buttons just for that app, you may be able to reassign these. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like it.

Thanks, I really appreciate the response. Looks like I'll be getting my phone on Monday from B&H and I'll begin to find out.
I run with my phone in a running pouch and it is positioned in the small of my back and when it is there, bluetooth stutters and struggles to keep a signal at times. To make it work I have to either position it in the front or in my hand. I didn't have this issue with either the Nexus 6 or even the Fire Phone. Does anyone else have similar issues?
I do. If my phone is in my pocket, or my daughter is using it in the back seat of my car it stutters constantly. When I run if I don't have it on the arm nearest the BT receiver of the headphones it stutters. BT is supposed to be good for a decent range depending on the version, but I have to keep my N6P ridiculously close to whatever its connected to.
Mine works fine with no stutter for me in either phone or music. I use it up to about about 25 feet. This is when connected to my car.
I notice this also. I came from a Nexus 6 where I used my Wireless headphones and always kept a good connection at long ranges.
But on the Nexus 6p when using the same headphones I can't move that far from the phone before it starts to cut out.
Also been terrible for me, 6.0.1 had stuttering. 7.0 has caused a very annoying bug where the music plays at full volume until you press up or down on the volume buttons of the phone. My car's bluetooth adapter will clip any audio going through it when playing at full blast, very annoying having to always juggle the source volume when starting a song.
My power beats 2... Cut out when phone is in right trouser pocket. I notice it now I walk around the city with no suit jacket. Been talking to beats, they want me to post them off... Wait 2 weeks. Forget that I know it's the phone....
Radio for Bluetooth is obviously on the other side of my body, I could put phone in my left pocket but I am right handed. (Bluetooth on headphones must be on my left)
Hi guys,
I know you can buy a decent head unit for $300+, but I can spend only $150. So is there any "not that bad" radio I can buy? I only want it for GPS and music playback + reverse camera. Best would be shipping from Europe, because tax here is 21% + $20 and that would ruin my wallet . I have found this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Panlelo-S10-Plus-2-Din-Android-Car-Stereo-2G-32G-7-1080P-Autoradio-Quad-Core-2din/32909908899.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.136.130d81d9nKqHaw&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_204_318_10059_10884_10887_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_452_10618_10304_10307_10820_532_10821_10302,searchweb201603_60,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=a972cd81-c671-41c1-a8dc-9bd13b7e13a3-19&algo_pvid=a972cd81-c671-41c1-a8dc-9bd13b7e13a3&priceBeautifyAB=0 (Panlelo S10 Plus)
2 gigs of RAM, some quadcore CPU, 32GB ROM, RDS (I won't listen to a radio very often).. I only don't like sensor volume buttons, but I can live with that. What do you guys think?
Or it's not worth it and I should just buy some 1 din classic and parking sensors, leaving GPS to a phone?
Thanks for answers
I would say what is the worst that could happen with the device?
Maybe it is useful that you inform what MCU there is and if it is mtcd mtce whatsoever. Then you can look if there is any custom ROM that you could flash to this.
I prefer to have hardware buttons for volume and next back etc. But I know I can also use my steering wheel for that (which I do in 99 percent of the time)

The worst would be it not being able to run GPS and music at the same time? Or very bad audio output? I don't know what to expect from these devices.
I'm not sure if it has any microcontroller, specs says only "Allwinner quadcore 1.2 GHz". I though it was just a tablet in different body with amp. But I'm sure there will not be any custom ROM for this. I can even find many reviews.
Sorry if I'm not very clear, I'm new to this.
I got the panlelo S10 plus a week ago and it's a good upgrade to the stock stereo (installed it on a Ford freestyle)
-google maps GPS works great by using hotspot from my phone, I have not tried off line Gps apps
-audio app for air radio stations sounds just like the stock stereo but has equilizer feature which will help it to sound better than the stock stereo, and the reception for air radio is just as the stock stereo
-it will let you play music (music app, google play music, Amazon music, YouTube music) and use Google maps at the same time but you have to go to settings and whilelist the apps you want to keep running in the background after you get back to the main screen or switch to maps
-it does boot up in like 2-3 secs for me
-it is not standard size as the regular 2 din, you need to make sure it's going to fit, also you need to shave the sides opening for the car kits you buy for double din car installation
-quality is meh, my screen has a corner lifting up, it is very small but it's there, it might be because the opening I did to the car kit plate it's making pressure on that corner.
-touch screen is responsive but is plastic not glass like a phone or tablet, the specs make the stereo to be responsive when moving thru apps
-screen brightness it's adequate for a car stereo, don't expect it to be like a phone - update - after connecting the illumination wire the brightness adjusts automatically down when turning on the headlights, you can set how low to go on the settings menu
-I don't have a back up camera so I can't comment on that
-side capacitive buttons do no light up (at least I haven't found out how to enable it or if there is a cable connection that I'm missing) so at night you won't be able to see the volume buttons, you have to rely on pulling down the notification bar to move the volume - update - my car does not have an illumination dedicated wire so I connected the stereo illumination wire to a cable that turns on the ac panel backlight and now the menu capacitive buttons light up when I switch the headlights on
-I haven't play with the steering wheel controller, I haven't research my car to see how to connect them to the stereo, I installed it in a rush because I was going in a trip so I just connected the basic stuff, so far I am enjoying it a lot for this trip. - update - connected the stereo key1 cable to the car swc+ cable and the steering wheel controls worked fine after programing them on the stereo settings
Overall I think is worth the $147 I paid for it, hopefully it lasts long.
