Facebook Messenger custom notifications - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here's another one after update to Marshmallow.
I have a folder named "Notifications" where I put an .mp3 named "MyLoudNotification.mp3".
If I go into most of the apps I can choose this as a notification sound, while with FB Messenger it is not listed.

Please, could someone try?
I created /media/audio/notifications folder and put in there "MyLoudNotification.mp3".
If I go into Facebook (or WhatsApp or whatever) I can choose this as a notification sound, while with Facebook Messenger it is not listed. It was before.
Thanks

That's unbelievable!

Mail app supporting drag and drop

Hi,
I'm using the Athena heavily for mail and am wondering if any of you have come across an application that supports 'drag and drop' of mails into folders like Outlook (or other apps) do on a PC.
The current 'right-click', selecting 'move' and then pointing to the folder is a bit slow and with the amount of mails I get the drag-and-drop would definitely help.
I tried Flexmail and while they support the 3-pane look (folders on the left, email list on top and preview on the bottom - perfect!), this particular function doesn't seem to be in and a question / feature request I put in a few weeks back seemed to have gone straight to /dev/nul
so... anyone... anyone...???
Thanks!
Flex mail is so damn slow.. You'll notice it when your inbox gets bigger.
Currently I dont see any mail application requesting your functionality but I am in a similar situation to handle lot of emails. Usually the mails that you want to sort into a particular folder will most likely have a same or similar subject. Do you know that when you type something when in Inbox screen, it automaticalyy searches and lists the matched mails alone? Then Select-All, move will save a lot of time for me..

Carty..

Help with Deimos Scum Mod theme on Homescreen++

Hi guys,
Through the wonderful creations of a couple of guys here on the forum, I've installed the Deimos Scum Mod theme for the homescreen++ as shown here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...age=5&post=#49
However, everytime I click on the email button, it keeps on going to my outlook main page whenever email shows 0. If there's unread email, it will always go to my messaging main page. But it will always read the correct number of total unread email.
I don't and will never use outlook. I use push gmail through Seven (www.seven.com). Gmail is my primary email account.
How do I change or alter the xml file so that everytime I click the email button (whether there is or isn't any email), so that it will always go straight to my gmail inbox?
This is a perfect theme, except for this little glitch. I tried all the help from the forum archive but it doesn't seem to work.
link isnt working.
Sorry this is the correct link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1885455&postcount=78
It has the cab file inside as well. Please help!

Facebook Pictures

Hi guys, any help on this would be much appreciated,
After i update my rom (which i'm a big fan of btw), i plug the device into my PC, and connect up outlook. This syncs all my contacts.
Immediately, they are all paired with the relevant facebook profiles, so i can see the status updates, access online albums etc etc, all from within the people tab.
However, the contact picture doesnt change. When i edit the contact picture, the facebook picture is already downloaded, its just the phone isnt using it.
Is there a way to tell the phone to always use the facebook picture, instead of waiting for my prompt?
Because otherwise it takes a good half hour to manually go through 200+ people!
Thanks for any help on this
There is a way... on your contacts page, go to all contacts and at the bottom tabs-go to updates, its a icon with a clock - go to Menu and update.. it even updates new contacts; like if u had a person on you list and if he\she wasnt on facebook earlier and u just added them, it would link them to your contacts.. try it out..

[Q] Problem saving email attachments

hi all, as per title,
i have been sent some pictures into my yahoo accounrt.
i can view them on my phone but there is no option to save them :-(
does anyone have any ideas?
the options and settings are limited as i can see.
i did have an excel file i sent, that opened with quick office and gave me the option to save but then the file contains none of the data on the spreadsheet.
any advice or input would be wonderfuel.
thanks.
mahender.
solved i think
when email picture attachments are donloaded, the phone saves them in the camera folder under 'downloads'
it either also then adds them to 'all pictures'
or
i have had to move them using dual file manager i have installed.
if there is another way then please let me know
i think that it will also save anything from the email. i have deleted them now but there were little facebook banners and my yearbook banners in there too.
i dont really want to download every image from an email just what i choose.
regards
mahender.

Email with Exchange 2007 - Notify on subfolders [email protected][email protected]!#$!

I do not think this is a Focus only issue, it is a windows mobile problem.
I connect my outlook client on the Focus to my exchange server just fine. Any emails that come directly to my inbox, i get notified on.
However!, i have alot of rules setup to push emails into folders to help keep things organized, as I am a sys admin, I do not get 10-20 emails a day, i can get 100+.. I need to be notified when an item hits a sub folder.
i went into "show all folders" and checked Sync this folder on each one i want notified on, and when i go into folder view, it shows (3) next to the folder name letting me know there are 3 unread emails there, but i never got notified any arrived.
On the iphone4, it would not update the count on the main number of unread messages, but it WOULD notify me. (a Ding)
On android, i used touchdown, and it worked perfectly.
On BB, i run a blackberry enterprise server, and it worked perfectly!
WHY doesnt the WINDOWS mobile phone work the way the compeitor phones do for alerting on sub folders, ITS MICROSOFT SOFTWARE TALKING TO MICROSOFT SOFTWARE, sorry for yelling, but this is make it or break it, if it is not doable, I will return the Focus, and -10 for microsoft for bringing shame to winmo7.
Someone please tell me there is a way to get notified on winmo7 on subfolders, preferably, update the count on the main tile!

I have the same problem but it was an issue for me before I moved to Phone 7. Like you, I am a sys admin. I get hundreds of emails per day. Instead of using a rule to move an email to a folder, use the rule to assign it a category label (use the same name you did before for the folder). Now create a search folder in Outlook for each of these categories. What this does is send all mail to the inbox so it alerts but you can click on each search folder to only see the messages that meet each category.

That is a very interesting work around. That may just work.
How well does the search work on a 1gb mailbox?

EXCELLENT suggestion! I'm going to try that myself ASAP! FWIW, this problem is nothing new. WinMo had the same problem and it's kind of funny how the stock answer for every missing feature in WP7 is "It's a new system that wasn't build on WinMo" but THIS managed to make the jump.
I'll have to try the category trick, too. But I would love it to alert on subfolders!
