I recently bought a Gear S2. My battery for my S7 Edge is going down a lot faster then I expected. Any one have any tips on saving battery without turning off Bluetooth?
hi there, try to disable the apps running in the back ground of your phone or you may try this this...https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-save-battery-life

I recently found an app called data on demand, which switches data off when the phone goes on standby (eq. screen is off). My problem is that I would like it to switch the phone to use only 2g networks.
That way it would still fetch my emails and such, but it would also save battery life.
So perhaps some developer is interested in this?
Bump: old thread, but this functionality would be great. It saved heaps of battery life on my HD2, and now even though my galaxy s has half decent battery life, i'd still like to go for 2 days plus without charging
Did U tried this? h__p://lifehacker.com/5482663/juicedefender-saves-batteries-by-automating-android-data
I will be soon be going to a festival for a few days and will be taking my Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9505) and would like the battery to last as long as possible. Does anybody have any suggestions of roms, or tweaks so I can get the most of of my battery life.
I will be performing a clean install of the rom and will be disabling unneeded apps and services such as sync and internet but wondered if there is anything else i can do

Of course you can. buy duracell power bank.
Install this MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789666
Ultra Power Saving Mode from Galaxy S5. You'll have battery maybe 9days
Sorry i forgot to mention I'm running cm11 atm, so that mod won't work.. I was looking at portable power packs but noticed they can only charge my phone 2/3 times unless i spend alot of ££.. I have just bought two spare batteries which may charge up and take for £2.40 each
best option for festivals is to buy some old old nokias. battery lasts for days on those things and plus no one wants to steal them!
but if you have to take your sparkly new S4 then you could try putting it into airplane mode whenever you're not using it and turn airplane mode off only if you get separated from your group? you probably won't get a great reception in the middle of a field anyway, which is one of the biggest battery drainers when it's constantly searching for a signal.
::EDIT::
also, don't forget to disable sync settings and location settings too.
hi everybody, I use my s4 everyday and sometimes my phone dies before getting home. The main battery drainer is of course the screen, so I noticed that the new Galaxy S5 has a new feature, the ultra power saving mode, which above the other things set the display rendering to grayscale, which can be very useful in terms of battery life in an AMOLED screen as far as I know. I think it would be nice if there would be something like that on the S4 though, the display colours are great but sometimes you just don't need them, and they only drain precious life juice from our phone... Is there something like that for the S4? I'm not looking for something which turns itself on automatically when battery is low, I'm fine with a manual application (maybe a switch on a widget)... is there anything like that? Is it really convenient for the battery?

You can find the ported power saving mode from the S5 here:

Or there are apps that provide similar functionality below:

or

I recently bought a used T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S5. It came running lollipop. The battery has been awful. I lose around 50% a day without using it at all. I frequently pull my phone out of my pocket during the day, and it will be hot and the screen will be on. When it is in airplane mode the battery life is normal, and there are no problems. I have tried resetting it, clearing the cache, greenify, and multiple battery saving apps. Nothing helps. Any suggestions?
Install a battery monitoring app, see what's causing it
Most likely due to certain apps you have installed that are draining your battery (maybe try rebooting into safe mode and see if the issues persist) Then use BetterBatteryStats or something similar and see which apps are causing it
Hey guys, international s7 edge here, love the phone, getting great battery so this is more of a nuisance more than anything. I only use Bluetooth sparingly, I have it turned off and scan for nearby devices is also off. Yet at the end of the day in battery stats my Bluetooth is shown as on the entire day using between 5 and 7 percent of my battery. No matter what I do. Would really appreciate any help or insight anyone might have on this. Thanks in advance.
Try installing an app like GSAM Battery Monitor. See where the drain is really coming from.
