So some of us using 6.0.1, it's time we try to make a thread that meant ONLY for positive and negative aka issues that we have. see if there is a pattern.
Android 6 for me is a big disaster, i tried both CAM and MID firmware and got same results- Volume lower in half auto when playing games, games stutter and drop FPS way too often, the haptic feedback is very strong, was perfect on LP.
None of the those issues ever occurred in LP, i just got back to LP and all working perfectly!!!!
On the bright side, the battery improved a bit and the overall UI navigation and system speed increased, not by much but u can feel it easily.
All my issues can be related to knox being tripped and Samsung adjusting it to hurt us even more, but that would be a bit unrealistic.
*Share with us if u tripped Knox or not, there could be a new punishment for it in MM.
*Ok confirmed via many people, there is a new "feature". when u play a game the volume decreases by half, it's noticeable when u playing music via Google play music or another music player, suddenly volume cuts in half and restored upon exiting game or alt-tabbing it, it only happens on speaker mode, headphones are fine, that DIDN'T happen on LP.

all day 3g / 4g, brightness 75% - 80%, whatsapp web, facebook, Clash of Clans at times only to collect, check gmail, browser, OGyotube and one or two short calls, I at most lucky 2 hs screen, the same use but with Lollipop 3:30 - 4 hours screen. now I'll try the ROM IRAC

with MM I get a wonderful battery with all the bloatware installed, tripped knox and everything i get more than 6 hours screen time. surfing and playing games (N2oG for example) and all that without a tweakable custom kernel yet. that's equal to what i got with amplify and lots of disabled apps on a debloated laggy Lolipop.

there is a setting for vibration intensity.
I don't have any problem with games that i play, you can name yours so others can comment on that.

Play a song then fire up Angry Birds 2, then volume will cut in half instantly. and btw does your Knox counter has been tripped?

Good then your knox counter is tripped, you can verify it by trying to install my knox and it will tell you that u installed custom os
I dont have any battery problem. Its same as lollipop.
But I have a weird issue. Sometimes some apps dont get data. After reboot it fixed. Its weird and i cant reproduce the issue maybe its only on my phone. ( on wifi or mobile data it doesnt matter)

I've tested angry birds and see what you mean about the volume. It looks like a "new feature" lol. Because the volume goes down like two steps when you start the game and comes back up when you minimize or quit the game, but the game volume doesn't change if you play or stop the music. its something like keeping the focus on forground media app, but i see what you mean. by the looks of it i think its how it will be in the future too...
oddly that only happens if i play the game in Speaker mode and as i always use my earphones i havn't encountered it

Also i noticed performance are very bad, in LP i could play as much levels as i wanted without FPS drops, here after 3-4 levels there is a major lag that might go away when u alt tab and return to game, then it smooth till next level, can u reproduce it?

There's a new feature bothering me.
When you set fingerprint as screen protection then you must set another protection method to confirm that fingerprint is yours. When restart your device and want to use finger to unlock. That will not happen and you must use your password or pattern or etc to unlock. I bought n5 because better fingerprint than my old note4 LOL... but now fingerprint features dead.
Samsuck always bothering us like they locked my n4 bootloader and now in n5 deepsleep **** after flashing stock rom and after mm get stable they will locked it bootloader. And I forget recent apps more slower than Lollipop :laugh: and white Ui sucks and battery life the same or little. I am now on venom :good:

Hello Guys i need some help here, im using Google* rom and i havent changed anything in the phone, i downloaded some games and apps, i just bought a nexus 4 in india and when i swipe through homescreen i occationally get lag and i get lag in app menu and widgets menu when swiping. when i play Temple Run 2 and subway surfer ( all updated to new version ) i get slight lag when playing the two games and at 37-40*C and the lag increases in temple run 2 when the temperature increases from 37*C - 40*C, can i know if this is normal?, anyone notice this?, i thought Adreno 320 was a great GPU which can play any games without lag and was in par( or Greater ) with/than iphone 5, but it cant withstand Temple Run 2?! im disappointed or is my Nexus 4 a defective one? or i gotta download a custom rom to resolve this problem? please help me.... :'(. and by mistake i was kept clicking the model number of the phone and i activated developers version by mistake, is there any way to disable it? i dont know what is developers version by the way .., just to avoid trouble :/

Enabling Developer options doesn`t cause lag or anything and gives you the choice to enable some options like usb debugging etc etc. I run Temple Run 2 too and xperience no lag at all and i have about 160 apps installed. Maybe too many heavy apps like Facebook or similar apps running in the background? And the temperatures are quite normal when gaming. Install BetterBatteryStatts for monitoring specific apps behaviour.

i only have like less than 15 apps installed, using the same rom included with the phone during purchase, i always clear background apps and recent apps often. and what are the normal temperatures for nexus 4? maybe the google* rom not very powerfull? i get lag on my homescreen, app section and widget section too occasionally.. :/

I would do a data factory reset in settings/backup and restore if i we`re you. I realy don`t xperience any lags and i`am on stock 4.2.2 also. I guess you installed the 4.2.2 OTA and it is advised to factory reset afterwards to avoid conflicts.

i hear so many complaints about those two games and laginess, that i dont think that its the phones fault. im gonna chalk it up to crappy coding in those games.
reading some of the comments in the play store for those games, also makes me think its the games issue.

i use trinity kernel. there isnt even a thought of lag on my phone(i dont play those two games, but i do have other games that i play). even though im a friend of francisco, franco kernel dev, and he makes a good kernel, im still a trinity user/and official teammate/tester

even with all stock, it shouldnt lag like that. what governor/scheduler do you use?
kernels control most everything about your phone(like the brains kinda), they also connect the hardware to the software.

I think the factory reset will wipe both your app data and the apps. That's why it's called a "factory reset". You need apps like Titanium Backup to make backups for your apps.
I'm not running stock rom now, but the lags you experienced are absolutely abnormal. I would also do a reset as Gee2012 said.

ok. then you dont need to consider kernels. do you reboot your device often? if not, one every few days is good. a factory reset might help too.

the thing that i dont like about being completely stock is that real maintenance is hard to do, like wiping tge dalvik cache(that would speed things up), or changing the kernel dor one that has been optimized. so, a factory reset would be the option for a completely stock phone.

i played Death Trigger and there was no lag and i checked Benchmarks of my phone it's score is very near to the Nexus 4 Benchmark charts in Antutu

For temple run 2, if I remember correctly it had little lags so it may just be the game. I'm currently playing temple run OZ and playing it on high graphics with no lag. If you feel your phone gets a bit warm, def look into UV it helps cools down the phone.

My note 4 seems to start lagging recently after I play games on it for a while. When I close the game, the phone itself lags as well. It's very obvious too when I'm just scrolling through my drawer. Has anyone experienced this? The few times I noticed the lag was also when my battery was low, <25% and I thought it may have been power saving mode. However I checked and power saving mode was off. Also when I use the facebook app any anytime, it has a scroll lag. I noticed that too when I'm browsing on certain sites (ie; XDA).
I tried factory reset and that did not fix the issue and I have the phone too long to exchange/refund

I never experienced any lag using stock launcher!, i want to stay my phone the way i first bought it.
if i change my launcher it feels like im not using note 4 anymore!
I'm already using nova. I tired stock browser but sites like XDA still lags when I scroll. Also when I game for a while, the game will start to lag. When I exit to home screen the phone itself lags too! I have to clear the ram for the phone to go back to normal. The weird thing is, the ram was only 2.22gb/2.72gb, it's not even close to max!

Just got myself an exynos note 4. Very nice phone but aside from a little touchwiz stutter, games such as real racing 3 and clash of clans stutter. My nexus 4 ran them fine. Did a quick antutu benchmark to see whats up and i got 49000 on antutu without flight mode on. What do you think? Benchmarks say my phone should handle them with ease but thats not the case. Anyone with a solution? I already disabled many samsung and google apps. Lag is evident only in games.

You're not using Power Saver, are you?
My note's benchmark seemed normal and I play Clash of Clans as well and it seems okay. The game I play most often is Summoners War and that is what's causing the lag. Come to think of it, I think I had an issue with the lag on my Nexus 5 as well but I might have chalked it up to the phone being old so when this happen on my brand new note 4, it raised a red flag. But still, I'm still confused why the game would lag my phone even thought it there's plenty of memory available.

I just tried clash of clans on my brothers s5. Turns out the stuttering is even worse. Im testing this by zooming in on the base and scrolling rapidly back and forth on a canon for example. I will test this on my nexus 4.i too thought coming to a phone as powerful as the note 4 i shouldnt see any stutters but if its happening on an s5 then i guess its not a hardware issue on my phone but rather an android thing? Tested this also on my iphone 6 with no stutters at all.

I was having the same problem, so believe it or not, the way I stopped it was going into application manager and disabling S Health. I don't know how or why, but this stopped all the lag. After installing Ktoonez kernel, I thought maybe I could turn it back on, but when I did, I started getting the same lag again. I hope this helps because I know it is frustrating

I second Keith's recommendation. My 2-day-old, rooted Note 4 was lagging and was particularly noticeable when scrolling through some web pages or content in Flipboard. But it lagged in other places as well. Also stuttered or paused when playing podcasts. I tried installing Nova Launcher, I tried removing Wanam Xposed, and some other things but it finally went away when I started to disable various Samsung bloatware. The success occurred after I disabled SHealth and some other things (I just happened to do a few all at the same time). I suspect SHealth was the culprit because it was probably running in the background all the time, trying to track my step count.
I ended up keeping Nova Launcher since I gives me some useful customizations, and I love Wanam + Xposed, partly because it lets me get rid of Samsung's Search menu item that always used to appear in my notifications shade.
It's been over a week, now, and no more lag / stutter. Absolutely loving the phone, now.
I haven't gone back to re-enable some of the bloatware in order to confirm that SHealth was the culprit because, quite frankly, I have no interest in the stuff I disabled, anyway.
I have also disabled S health but I never had a problem with Clash of Clans when even I had S health Enabled.. whereas the other game I play (Summoners War) it always start to lag after an hr+ of gaming.
I already disabled s health through the app drawer but that does not solve the problem. Coc will run fine for a few mins and then start to stutter like its not optimized. To test for hardware issues i installed dead trigger 2 and injustice gods among us and they absolutely fly. The problem seems to be with coc. I am using an exynos note 4 on stock rom stock kernel. Any thoughts?

when your phone starts to stutter after some time playing games, it might be thermal throttling. depending on the game you can notice it more or less.
Hi I just bought galaxy s7 edge, phone is amazing but the biggest issue is performance, most games dropping frames below 30fps even temple run 2 or candy crush soda, sky force, heartstone etc. These games where running on may galaxy s5 smooth I'm really disappointed right now and don't know what to do. ye GS7 has the worst gaming performance in flagship device for years, there is not much u can do without root, and even with root the solution is not optimal to use.
U can however disable gameservice which might help or not, u need package disable pro in order to do so if u don't have root.

Again not all games effected, mine games currently are Tekken on PPSSPP and Angry birds 2 on high levels 200+, both lags so bad it's not funny, Note 5 on 5.1.1 was light years ahead of S7.

Have you tried clearing your cache? I play asphalt 8 which is pretty graphic intensive and haven't had as much a a frame drop.

i did everything, i can prove that it's the software that throttling the phone, not hardware.
If u disable DVFS via root, 85% of the lag is gone just like that.

First u need to be rooted then install xpose, then u need the disable dvfs module, activate it restart phone, let it cool down and try your games

Not at all but it will trip knox and your software warranty will wear off.
I just give up to play Need for Speed No Limits on my S7 Edge Exynos. Is just impossible to play after 5 minutes.
Just as a information I played the same game on a old Galaxy S4 Mini witch has much lower hardware specs, and no problems at all. Samsung just lie when says a S7 is a phone for games
the hardware is there, the software is limiting and yes that annoying, guys just spam their twitter account and try to go to higher ranks, if we all work together something might happen.

Disabled Nova Launcher and Geenify services on Accesibility and now tha game runs smoother, and by the way the phone feels cooler, will test more.
At some point slow down a bit but not as used to be.

Look out for editing config file with json editor it works the game now look great and runs flawless...

Are you still experiencing lag in games?
I've been using s7 exynos variant for quite some time and it's a very nice phone but there's one huge problem with it, when I start playing some games like modern combat 5, Hit etc at first I get 60 fps then after some time the performance drops. It's probably due to aggressive gpu throttle as the device barely gets warm. Is there any way to disable the gpu throttle?
Have you tried Samsung Games Tuner on playstore?
I'm playing a pretty graphically intensive game and I don't have problems. Are you on power saver mode?

Nope no power saver mode. I even tried game tuner but same results. Which graphics intensive game do you play and what android version do you have?

Firstly, i have no idea what modifications you could make as i dont have any issues like what you report.
Secondly, modifying any throttling is inherently dangerous. A slight tweak and your phone could overheat and batteries tend to explode when overheated! You've been warned!
I would suggest you look at whether its an app issue before doing something that could brick, damage or destroy you phone. Its also kinda jumping the gun a little to say straight away its GPU throttling as it could be CPU doing work of the GPU due to a dev error (and thats seriously slow!) or even a delay due to loading graphics from an SD card etc.
Also, it could very well be root related...

Try uninstalling xposed and be happy with a phone which works as it should (and gain the ~25% performance lost because of xposed...)

It's not root related, i know exactly what you're talking about. I sold my S6, got an S7 just because of this problem. Exact same problem. Now i have the S7 edge, still the same. I dont know what's the problem, but it's very annoying.
Works fine on my shield tablet though
All i can suggest now is to wait for Modern Combat Versus, hopefully it will be better optimised, with Vulkan support
Update : So I recently updated my phone with Nougat and the problem still exists BUT I have noticed something weird, As I said before the game loses fps in less than a minute (it's still quite playable but it's definitely not 60fps), when I press the recent button/key and jump out of the game and press it again and get right into it again I start getting 60fps, then again after a minute I lose the frames.

This is exactly what happened to me,and weird thing you mentioned has been there since marshmallow,this is very weird,some games that isn't even gpu extensive also experience fps drops here and there on both my snapdragon s7 edge and exynos s7
Also weird such a beast machine couldn't run psp emulator without fps drop
Been waiting for more than half year for the fix or solution without rooting

I think I've found a solution but it requires root. if your device is rooted then install any kernel manager that supports your rom (I use EX Kernel Manager) and choose the "high performance" profile for both the cpu and gpu. no overclocking is required. now I get full fps all the time. Actually the device throttles the cpu after some time when a resource heavy app is launched (I've done my own testing with on-screen cpu monitor app) so selecting a high performance profile disables the throttling but keep in mind, the device tends to get hotter than usual but not too much. hope this helps
I've had this phone before the Oreo update. Antutu V6 showed super smooth graphics... that apparently don't translate into real-world usage.
For this example I'll talk about Real Racing 3, but it goes for any game.
On Nougat it would have this bug where it would run at about 40fps, then when I paused and resumed the race, it would be at a smooth 60fps for about 2 seconds. Thought the Oreo update would allow 60fps all the time like I know it should do.
I downloaded Real Racing 3 again after months, and now on default settings, at 1080p, I get about 15-25fps constantly. Pausing and resuming doesn't help any more.
So this game and many others that I used to love and play at a decent framerate on my previous phone, which had adreno 330 graphics, look almost unplayably horrid. Even skips frames on games like Color Switch which runs without a hitch on my brother's Moto C.
It's seriously worse than I would expect even a $200 device to be! And this phone cost $650 at release?!
Anyone else had these issues? Has anyone solved this for themselves?

I was having the same issue.If you have updated by OTA then flash the rom again using LGUP & do a factory reset using keys.I was getting heavy lag on MCVS,PUBG & heat issue almost same as yours.My issue is gone now.Also don't forget to turn off break time on Oreo in game center.
Look how smooth it runs now while screen recorder is on at 2k.

Thats why i never play mobile Crap Games on a Phone, i dont like to charge again after 2 Hours.
Buy a Computer or Playstation, this is just a much better feeling, than those mobile Crap with tons of Ads.

I'm a PC gamer as well. Unfortunately I can't take my rig with me to places and use it on the bus or whatever, and there are no PC versions of most of the games I play and enjoy on the phone. We don't need posts like this, thanks.
Anyway, I think it must partly be optimisation because CSR2 is running smoothly.

I solved it by deleting all the games off my phone and downloading steam on my PC
