I have a 1080i/720p projector, and the Nexus Player displays only initially on boot (480p I gather, from my reading) and then I have a blank screen and the signal is "Not Reg" on my vp4001 projector ... presumably it is sending at 1080p. The player displays fine on a 1080p TV.
I have enable developer settings but nowhere can I find a setting for resolution so I can force 720p. Can anybody offer any solution? Is there some way to force 720p display, or max hdmi resolution?

I recently bought the AV cables for my tab and i absolutely love it. Only issue so far is the fact that i have to keep the screen on while the video is playing on both the TV and tab. If i turn off the screen then its replicated on my TV. I know with some video players you can adjust the brightness right from the app. But some apps, like the youtube player, dont have this option. Is there an app out there that can dim the screen so the screen almost looks off? Even if video is playing? That would be great. Please let me know if such an app exists. Ill keep searching.

This was kind of a dumb question because there are plenty of dimmer apps on the market. Basically i want the screen to be black and yet output a signal to my TV. Is this possible?

I have a problem with Windows 8 and my Sony Bravia Television.
when i change my screen, for example from the desktop to a movie, or from youtube small screen to full screen, then it keeps flickering, the television says it is changing mode..
i already tried chaning the resolution and hz...
anyone had this problem with your screens ?

somehow I cannot switch the camera between movie and still picture mode any more. Tapping the little icon in the top right above the zoom controls which is supposed to do so, only causes the screen to dim for half a second. But the camera stays in movie mode. I tried resetting the camera settings to default. That didn't work out.

I just got my Nexus Player a few days ago. I already unlocked/rooted and am setting it up. I notice that the apps and stuff often display outside of the screen.
I went through settings but cannot seem to find any setting to allow me to adjust the visible size of the display. Any suggestions?
Thats a overscan setting on your tv, sometimes under a display "full" e.t.c...
I just got my TS-10 Android head unit up and running but my reversing camera remains black and white. I can't figure out why this is and there doesn't seem to be any setting I can find that will fix it.
I've just tested it with normal NTSC and it still black and white
