The inbuilt or any manually installed player pauses r stops automatically why!?
Are you using a headset/earphones? Does this also occur using loud speaker? Try booting to safemode if it persists.
If you have google now always-on, retrain the voice thing.

Hey gang, new TF owner here. I want to play an MP3 in Winamp and surf the net at the same time. How come every time I go to switch applications (by leaving Winamp running, I just hit the home button to start a new app) - the music stops playing.
I'm a little disappointed that I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Anyone have this figured out?
I don't know about WinAMP, but I use the Google Music app and the music doesn't stop when switching apps.
Winamp also plays music in the background, regardless of app switching. Even continues playback even while the screen is turned off, if I recall.
Mine doesn't stop or exit music keeps playing and a notification is added to the bar.
I can confirm on my tablet, Winamp does not keep playing when I switch apps. If it matters, I am using the headset port. Maybe I'll try it without the headset and see if it does.
Maybe the headset port shuts off when the screen goes into sleep mode.
Ok yes, when I am NOT using the headset port, apps play in the background. However, when I use the headset port, the music shuts off when the app is switched (and also when the screen goes into sleep mode).
What's up with that?
I haven't tried Winamp specifically, but every other music app plays in the background no problem with or without headphones plugged in. Music, TuneIn Radio, and iHeartRadio are three that come immediately to mind.
I just download Winamp so I can test and WITH headphone I can multitask and listen to music just fine.
Music still play when screen shut off also.
My built in music player is the same way.
I have the Exynos model 9500. I use Poweramp for listening to music. Sometimes when I connect the earphones, the Poweramp starts but the sound does not come(auto start/stop feature of power amp). When this happens although the song is in play mode but the seek bar does not progress. When i try to play song/video on other player they also do not play. The system sound also stops working.
I have factory reset also but still facing the same issue.
Any help/suggestion would highly be appreciated!!
BUMP!
AS the title would suggest, I'm having a small issue with my headset button.
I got my G2 today and while excellent, my previous phone, HTC One, would react perfectly to the headset button.
I use doggcatcher often and when pressing the button on the One, the podcast would play or pause perfectly. I could remove my headset and an hour later connect it back, hit the button and back playing where it left off.
With the G2 the damn music app keeps playing and it will play the choir ringtones. Even if I am playing a podcast in Doggcatcher and I hit the button the music player will interrupt Doggcatcher to play the ringtone.
Is there a fix for this? Or a way to disable the build in stock music player which I will NEVER use.
Solved it
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What was the fix?
What was the fix for this? I am having a similar issue, but my headset will only launch the dialer and I can't figure out how to make ANY music or podacst app respond to my wired headset button.
Wierd issue. Use to work but not now. When I'm on Bluetooth and take or make a phone call on Bluetooth... And then after the call try and play media through Bluetooth, it won't have sound. Max volume. Shows as playing. But nothing. Not even through phone speaker. It's as if the dialer app didn't release the Bluetooth control after the call.
Only way to fix is to turn off Bluetooth and back on.
Anyway to fix?
I had this happen once or twice, but not recently. I use bluetooth in my car but my factory radio in my car only has BT for calls, not music. I have a small A2DP device that plays music through the AUX in on the radio. A few times if I took a call via BT for the car, when the call ended the music wouldn't resume. I'd go to Spotify and it showed as playing but no sound came out. I never tried resetting bluetooth because when I'm driving it's easier to just hold power until the phone reboots, then it works fine.
mine does it when I'm using the amazon music player, doesn't matter if I'm on a call or not. Every now and then it just stops sending audio to the radio. If I turn the phone on, the lockscreen shows that the song is playing, but zero audio.
If I pause / play / pause on the lockscreen it usually resumes playing. Very odd issue. Still better than the problems I was having with my note4.
I've seen this issue on android for years. I'll have the same issue if I say Okay Google and Google doesn't recognize what I say.
Hi,
I have installed a BLP-950A (Octa Core with Android 7.1) in my vehicle. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the integrated music player in conjunction with navigation apps. The music player crashes sporadically and then the navigation app stops working. Only when I close the music player completly, the navigation works normally again. The problem occurs on Google Maps and Here we go. However, if I run the radio instead of the music player, the problem does not arise.
TomTom Go has another problem that the default computer voice is distorted as soon as I put this app as the default navigation app in the system. If I take the assignment away, the standard computer voice works normally, but much too quietly, and it does not dampen the music when route announcements come along. How I can fix this?
Therefore, another question, I would like to change the standard music player with e.g. with poweramp. Unfortunately, Poweramp does not continue playing as soon as I turn off the device and turn it back on. I always have to open poweramp completely after each reboot and press play to resume.
