Just wanted to say how much I love these forums and how great everyone is with helping out and contributing. My last three phones have all been wonderful experiences due in no small part to the work of everyone on these forums. You guys all deserve a pat on the back.

Thanks brotha'
Your a part of the great community here as well so make sure to pat yourself on the back as well.
Even tho I wont meet you guys irl I really do appreciate all the insight everyone brings. Even if I disagree with somebody I still appreciate them even bringing an idea I didn't have before to my head. Its also amazing to have such a helpful community that will help each other out just for the good of the group (like a wolfpack). I continuously make people on here my contacts just so I can read up on their posts and what they had to say since I respect their opinions so much.
There is strength in numbers guys, and this group is one of the strongest out there.
Since I haven't made one of these threads in awhile either I have to say thank you guys for being a great group that I can rely upon when need be and a great source of insight
I'd also like to say thanks to all the people who've answered my silly nooby questions since Febuary. And also big thanks to developers like Enomther.
I also benefited a lot from the xds-developers gang. Thanks a lot !
It started with a HTC Diamond running Windows Mobile. I've flashed roms, modified the phone and downloaded a lot of software.
Now that I have a N1 coming up in a few days, I'm busy learning about Android and understanding the N1 to make the most of it. On xda-developers of course !
THANKS - THANKS
I too would like to say a big THANK YOU ALL!!!
If I win the lottery I'm going to build a huge developer center and get every dev on overtime... Well compensated of course lol

in the end of 2011 year just want to thank all dev here for
there effort and time that they spend to make us more happy with our DHD
and thanks very much for anyone support them even if pressing thanks button.
thnx for all and really wish to them more success and good luck.
+1, Happy new year to all on the DHD thread, and all at Xda.
Thanks for feeding a flash-a-holic over the past year.
Cheers
Yeah I'd like to say a big thankyou as well, my phone experience has been much better with roms I've tried out this year, I am becoming a romaholic though LOL, flashing all the time!
With the Desire, there weren't THAT many ROMs to choose from, and even so, I was a flash-a-holic... Now, with the DHD, I see there are plenty of ROMs... I hope I'll find a cure soon...
Thank you for keeping the DHD alive. If it wouldn't have been for the devs, I believe at least 50% of us would have been sentenced to death for inflicting painfully headbangs on our phones...
Wish you also a Happy New Year Celebrate, beautiful ..
Greetings, Chriss
Here here, thanks to all devs who offer their time and effort to support a dedicated userbase of fans/enthusiests. And to the users who offer constructive feedback to the devs too, they do have a useful role to fill..
haapy new year guys
Happy new year to all of you

The ARHD team and their recognised userbase for all of their help and support.
The RCMix3D team for their great efforts to port Sense 3.5 and for their great kernels that work so well with ARHD.
koush and madmaxx for Rom Manager/CWM and 4EXT/4EXT Recovery Control and everyone involved with theming the latter and releasing Recovery Touch.
Hope you acheive all your goals in and out of the community for the new year. We just wouldn't survive without you. Three Cheers Hip Hip....
I just changed my phone for a Motorola RAZR

happy new year everybody
wish you great moments
Right, so I have stopped development totally, because I just don't have the time.
Currently I am at school, and I have to revise for exams, and with my spare time I should really be revising instead of developing, and I have realised this recently. I want to do good in school so I can go to college to study Maths and Physics.
With the rest of my spare time, I am going to find some work, maybe it will not be consistent but I need to futureproof my bank account, which currently stands empty. I will be hoping to buy an Xperia S, but I will probably end up with another device, its too expensive. I will also need the funds to cover travel and books. And for university
If at any time I feel that the conditions change, then I will start development again, say if its the holidays and I have no work or exams or anything. The main issue is the money, my parents won't give me any (that might sound teenagerish, but its not) and I need some. I'm going to sound really greedy here but I would like another Android device.
Anyway, my kernel sources are at: https://github.com/DarkforestGroup so if you want to continue my kernels, and you have sufficient experience, then you can. Otherwise you are free to fork it and use it as a base for your own.
My ROM's will not be updated, and so after time you should use another ROM, because mine will become outdated.
I'm also not going to apply for XDA Recognised Developer status.
Over and out,
Keiran
EDIT:.After thoroughly thinking about it I have decided that I can continue to develop, but only when I have done sufficient revision. I will continue my kernel and ROMs, but they wont be updated as frequently. This is the best I can do
And thanks for all of the positive replies.
Sorry to see you go, you will be missed
Sad to see you go, You were a very important part of the community, Good luck with your exams (They suck).
Good luck. By the way, you make the best ROMs.
You'll be missed mate but your future comes first. Good luck with your exams and hope everything goes well for ya

Thanks for all your contributions.
Thanks for all your work, you'll surely be missed around here
Well, this is sudden, and unexpected. I'd bet you've had some bad grades which may have come from your huge dedication to us. It's a wild guess, bit I've been in a similar position in the past. At any rate, the only thing we can do is give you a great applause for your work here and thank you for your huge efforts, plus wish you luck in your future endeavors. You'll be remembered as the young man who stepped up the game on this phone (pun intended). Feel free to come here anytime you like, though some withdrawal may be good right now.

Who are you again? I don't think you posted much on the forums.
Anyways, good luck, whoever you are?

Haha, and you are?
Anyways, it was mostly because of coursework, but I've worked out, I can spend a few hours on the weekend so maybe I can do a little development, but nothing heavy.

All jokes aside, it's better to give up something you enjoy in the short-term, instead of ruining things in the long-term. It's really easy to pick up developing again whenever you like, but it's not easy to go back and make up the time to get good grades again.
Good luck with things and well done on making this decision now. xda is not going anywhere and all the trolls will still be here.
Thank you for all your hard work, our awesome kernels/roms. Good luck with school.
All the best for the future mate!! Thanks for all your hard work

Keiran, you do whatever you need to, bud. I think we are all in agreement here that you don't owe any of us anything, and we all owe you a whole lot of gratitude for all you have done while here. We're all proud just to have known such a creative, intelligent, motivated young man, and we all wish you only the best in the future.
I don't know what things are like in Europe, but here in the colonies , a young person with such drive and determination can often apply for and receive scholarships to pay for part or all of his college tuition. I encourage you to look into that.
Good luck man, hope you the very best.

To echo what netizenmt said, you should probably look into getting internships that would really allow you to demonstrate your abilities. Not only would they be more likely to contribute to your schooling, but you'd also have your foot in the door for a good career, right off the bat.
As far as developing on Saturdays goes, I would honestly recommend taking a back seat and being the support for other developers around here. That way, you could still contribute as you'd like to, but wouldn't necessarily have the pressure of keeping your own kernels/roms up to speed on your own.
Either way, do what you think is best for your situation, not for what the noobs think they need. Good luck, man, you deserve it.
Though I have joined this community not for long, I learned much from your works.
I'm going to have one of my course exam tonight and can understand your situation.
Anyway, put your energy and time on the most important things you think.

Hey guys,
First let me go through the back story : recently I was on a different phone... and had to watch a TON of drama between a dev team and a single dev... COMPLETELY destroyed my views on this forum board and was about to just bail and say screw it all, due to this being my 3rd android device and the same team over the span of 4 years have caused the same amount of drama on all 3 devices and nothing has happened to them.
Now fast forward :
Someone told me about the OPO, so of course I googled some reviews, and then come here and see how much support was actually being given. And i said "you know what, ill just lay low, not be a fan of any devs so if/when drama breaks out I'm not biased" ... I have been amazed to how drama free this device's development teams are. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! You all work so hard, you help each other, and you do it all for free! This is what makes a great community. I just hope that "earlier stated dev team" does not make their way over here..... as it will only lead to drama.
All a recap, every single one of you, devs, testers, and end users, are awesome. And I just wanted to say thank you, and lets keep this community for the OPO a great one.
Great speech man! This is the way to go!
For drama visit the Oppo one+ official forums... lol
Yeah support is pretty good here
