OK, a little background.
I have a G2 that I got on release day. I rooted, installed TWRP with flashify, and ran CM for several months, no issues. Life was good. For various reasons I decided to go back to stock. I used the TOT method and did so no problems.
Last month I broke my screen. I replaced it, and it worked great and life was good again.
The itch grew and yesterday I decided I would root. Rooted my phone, no problems. I decided to install TWRP. I used Autorec to do so, and then all hell broke loose. I had the vertical white lines on boot, I had vertical white lines in download mode, I had vertical white lines in TWRP and I had vertical white lines in the OS. Hmm, how do I fix this?
After quite a bit of reading and frustration, I figured out I could sideload a jdi kernel. The problem was that I could not see TWRP to initiate a sideload. After watching a youtube video on sideloading I was able to determine the locations of the button presses in TWRP to set up sideload mode flying blind. I was able to sideload the JDI kernel and then I did an ADB reboot.
The phone rebooted and booted into KK, still had the white lines. I turned the screen off then back on and VOILA, no lines. I did have a white line ghost image that slowly faded completely away, but I realize that I could have permanently damaged the screen.
So now I have a working phone once I have booted into KK. The issue is that TWRP and the LG and boot screens still have the damaging white lines, that clear up once I am booted into KK and do a screen power cycle. TWRP is basically useless because I can't see what is displayed.
How do I fix the white lines in TWRP and my boot screens?
I should also add that it's a Verizon phone, and I have verified with /proc/cmdline that it is a JDI panel.
Similar thing happened to my ls980 with jdi panel, after a day the line disappears.

What I don't understand is why the issue would suddenly appear without altering the stock kernel. Autorec doesn't touch the kernel when it installs TWRP, does it? Why did I suddenly need a JDI kernel?
I tried installing Serenity rom for my J500G (came from Tesla rom). I chose the hard wipe option where it deletes the internal storage as well. When it's done, it was stuck for a long time in the last screen so I removed the battery. When I turned it on, the galaxy j5 would appear but it has colored noise on the upper part of the screen, followed by horizontal lines on the middle to bottom part. Then after a few more minutes everything would just disappear. I could still go to download mode and recovery mode. I flashed stock rom via TWRP but it didn't work. What should I do?
Hi, I changed my screen resolution and all of a sudden the whole screen went black. I can still access recovery and I can still see the power menu when I leave power pressed and the screen responds to me clicking the button to restart etc. I can also flash through recovery. I dirty flashed a newer version of the ROM and I could see the system dialogue box telling me the system apps were updating, but from then it all went black. What should I do?
Fixed it by flashing an updated version of the same rom then flashing back to previous rom and then flashing back to the updated version.
Hello,
I was using my Zenfone 3 (in the back of the device is written ZE520KL) normally: Stock ROM, no Root, Never touched the bootloader (It means that I DID NOT installed Custom ROM nor Unlocked the bootloader nor rooted it). Then suddenly the brightness of the device went crazy. I mean, when I boot de device every thing works fines, but when the screen locks up when I unlock it or wake it up the brightness is lower than the lowest brightness configuration possible.
To try to fix it I:
- Change the brightness in the Android - NO success
- Turn off the automatic brightness adjustment - NO success
- Reseted it to Factory settings - NO success
- Flashed a older version of the android using the script from the package downloaded, i think they call it AFT(Actually, here comes something weird: If I try to flash it with the ZE520KL version of the ROM it does not flashes it, I had to use the ZE552KL version to get the flash working) - NO success
- Unlocked bootloader (Installed the TWRP 3.2.3 and the weird thing is that the extreme low brightness problem that I was facing in the Android when the screen wakes up is present in the TWRP. And the worst part is, it happens from boot into it. I even tried to change the settings and set the brightness to the maximum value in the TWRP's settings and nothing changed) - NO success
As I did not have success with anything, I locked the bootloader and flashed the stock image of Android again.
What really bugs me is that if I restart my device by holding the power button for some seconds, the display starts correctly, the auto-brightness works correctly and the brightness settings works just fine.
Could anyone please help me?
Thank you in advance
Freeny
I've updated my 6T to OxygenOS 10 successfully and factory reset my phone after the update as well. The phone now has a stuck yellow ting everywhere but on the lock screen?
Any have any idea whats gone wrong or how to fix it?
I'm in the same situation but then i tried changing display settings in below location
Display -->Screen calibration
In the Advanced setting you can go for
1.AMOLED Wide gamut
2. Display P3
Where you can avoid that yellow tint
sounds like night mode is on always on night mode did you have any magisk mods installed and if you use xxx rom you needed to uninstall and reinstall after you boot 10
