A Few Questions Before I Buy the Edge Plus - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a few question about the Samsung Edge Plus for T-mobile....
1) Will an unlocked version working on T-Mobile cause issues?
2) Will an unlocked version be able to use T-Mobile's 4G LTE network?
3) Is there a way to change the background color of the settings from white to black? If not, can it be done with Xposed?

If you mean G928F, then:
1) No
2) Yes, it supports band 12

3) there are a variety of themes to choose from. Black is an option for me

Galaxy NOTE 3 Wind N900W Networks

Hi Forum,
I just got a note 3 from Wind and when I go to the network settings I can only see the following options
WDCMA/GSM
WCDMA only

Does this mean that the phone wont work on lte? can anyone else confirm if they have the same phone.
Thanks,

It's there but you have to unlock and root the phone. flash a modem to enable it.
That is not true, you do NOT need to root the device or modify it in any way to get LTE to work simply plug in an LTE sim once the device is unlocked and it will pick up the network. I purchased my Note 3 from WINDMobile on friday and tested a Rogers SIM in the device to check out LTE compatibility it picked it up no problem and I can pull about 25Mbps on the Rogers LTE network in Calgary

T-mobile S7 on AT&T?

Anyone using an unlocked T-mobile S7 with an AT&T Sim? Do you get full LTE? Any difference in signal strength, etc?
Just curious. Im about to trade my S7 edge for a regular S7 cause I like the smaller size, but it's an unlocked t-mobile model. I know they both use the same bands so it should work fine. Just wondering about anyone else's experience. Thanks.
I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile on AT&T. I don't have any signal problems. I, however, cannot get volte to work. I'm in the process of looking to see if anyone has been able to maybe flash AT&T firmware onto a T-Mobile variant, or if we might be able to flash the stock firmware and use an ATT CSC to gain volte. I also don't get notifications from visual voicemail but visual voicemail does work. The notification comes through like a standard voicemail notification and then I have to open the VVM app and refresh to see the new message.
Thanks for the reply. Good to know. I don't use the volte actually I have it turned off because I seem to drop more calls with it on then with it off. But yeah if an AT&T stock fw could be flashed to it I think the tmo model would be preferable to me.

Flash Verizon S8 with european firmware

Hi guys,
I bought a Verizon s8 in the states and wanted to use it in Europe. I live in the Netherlands, so I swapped in my Vodafone some instead of using the Verizon Sim and everything works fine besides mobile data. I can not change the APN settings as they are locked. Carrier says it's Verizon though it's using the Vodafone Network.
So I was wondering, can I flash the firmware with a european version to get access to the APN settings and remove the carrier lock?
Best
the s8 verizon is not locked just put your sim card in and thats it.you cannot flash international rom on the us version odin wont let you it will fail even if you somehow made it it will brick the phone.the reason is because the us s8 version uses snapdragon chipset and the s8 international version uses exynos chipset they are completely different.
the option you have is to flash the us unlocked version to the verizon s8 i did on mine i have verizon also.

I was wondering is there a way to add more international languages on my s8+. I have managed to change parts of it but on menu and while scrolling in facebook it doesn't recognise i.e some norwegian / turkish letters and doesn't switch language in parts of menu.
The model i have is G955U1 ?
Thanks again.

Tv87, I am in the exact situation as you. Have you resolved your problem? If so, what was the solution?
I just moved to the Netherlands a few weeks ago and switched my S8's SIM Card from Verizon to Vodafone. Everything worked fine except for mobile data. The Vodafone rep told me that my APN settings were grayed out / locked; therefore, until they could be edited, my phone would not receive mobile data.

They are not locked, the phone still thinks it has a verizon sim and that's why you cant edit the settings, do a complete factory reset.
And anyways, even with editable apn settings you wont get lte, because your s8 is lacking the european lte bands.

What makes you say that?
https://www.phonearena.com/news/Che...on-T-Mobile-and-Sprint-use-in-the-USA_id77933
Says:
"In Europe, most carriers base their networks on bands 3 (1800 MHz), 7 (2600 MHz) and 20 (800 MHz). China, on the other hand, uses a whole different 4G LTE standard - while the Western world has rolled out FDD-LTE networks, China and large parts of Asia use TDD-LTE."
And several places online show all those as being supported on the g950u.

Am I missing something?

I did a factory reset while my Vodafone SIM Card was in the phone. I am now getting the following message:
Sorry, we're having trouble activating your phone.
If you're moving your phone number from your old phone to this one, make sure your old phone is turned off.
In addition, I get the following message on the very next screen:
You can set up your phone using Wi-Fi, but you won't be able to make or receive calls until your phone has been activated on the Verizon network.
Is there anyway to unhinge my phone from the Verizon network!? Before I left the United States, Verizon assured me my phone was not locked to their network; however, it appears to be based on the messages received after factory resetting my phone.

What you can try is to flash the USA csc instead of the VZW one that you have right now.

LGK20 plus

I have an LG K20 Plus and want to switch from Metro to Sprint. Is this possible? I know it's a GSM and CDMA difference, but I have hopes since this device supports WCDMA. I'm rooted, and am down to do any software and hardware mods if needed.
Are you network unlocked? If so put the New SIM in....should be fine. I did a T-Mobile to Verizon....should be about the same If I remember correctly

wifi calling and Volte for unlocked galaxy s8

I recently brought Galaxy S8 SM-G950F (international unlocked) version and use Ultra mobile which in turn uses T-Mobile network in US. I have following queries:
1. Currently Wifi calling is not working nor can I see any options to enable/disable it. Does international unlocked phone do not have this feature? I tried the call setting menu and more connection settings but it does not appear in both of them.
2. After the call connects, my data switches to H or H+ (3G) but otherwise it remains on LTE/LTE+. Is this an issue with my phone or the carrier? My friend uses the same ultra mobile network with IPhone 6s and LTE works while on call so I think its not a carrier issue but not sure. I have heard LTE works on carrier provided galaxy s8 models.
I also have any option to exchange my phone for North America unlocked version S8 SM-G950U. Does this model supports above features? Should I go for this exchange?

You will not get wifi calling or volte on any of the unlocked phones while they are stock. Each carrier is slightly different on what u need to do. Tmobile only need a firmware flash with a carrier that has the option. Att is the hardest, many more steps.
