I had dropped my phone in water, instantly took it and put it into rice, waited about 3 days and took it out. It won't turn on
I can plug the USB cable in, and the image that shows a dead battery with a lightning bolt inside it ( charging ) flashes on for about 2-3 seconds, and then quickly fades out and it will just constantly do that for as long as it is plugged in.
Holding Vol Up, Home, Power, flashes the Galaxy S6 Android screen , and then dies.
Holding Vol Down, Home, Power, I am able to get it into Download Mode, but not sure what to do from there.
Ideally all I would like to do is backup my pictures, and contacts from the device.. I already have a new s6 edge, but unfortunately my contacts and pictures were not synced to google at all.
Any suggestions? Any way to somehow retrieve the data from the internal memory ? Or replacing the battery somehow?

Hey guys
I just had my digitizer and LCD replaced. My battery appeared to be damaged when I ripped it out, and the back cover was cracked extensively from the drop.
I got the phone back from the repairer with just a new screen/lcd in it, who said he had troubles powering it on. I got it home and charged it for half an hour and it would get to the google circles spinning and it would cut out and go back to the charging screen.
I ordered a new battery and installed it this afternoon, about an hour or so ago.
When I plug the phone in to the power, the light flashes orange for less than a second and it stops. No buttons are responsive.
If I hold down the vol-down button and insert the micro usb, it goes to the bootloader menu and stays there. If I select start it shows the 'Google' screen then cuts out and the light flashes orange once. If I hold vol-up when inserting, it shows the battery charging icon for a few minutes and then cuts out, and when it does the light flashes orange once.
I've left it sitting for about half an hour now and it's still not responsive.
Anyone have any ideas whats going on before I put the original battery back in?
Put the old battery back in with the same results.
What the hell is going on :/
Hi,
I have a nexus 7 2012 and it worked fine and runs CM 12. The other day I powered it off by pressing the power button then clicking the power off option in the power menu. When I turned it back on it didn't boot up and I ended up having to hold the power button for ages. Powered if off again the next day (only use it occasionally) and when I went to turn it back on it didn't boot again. This time though no matter how long I hold the button for or leave it on charge nothing happens.
I've tried everything from trying different charging cables, plugs, plugged it into laptop, pressing power + volume down and even pressing all 3 buttons. I've popped the back off and unplugged then plugged back in the battery. Nothing works there's no sign of life at all, no screen flickers no nothing I'm stumped. Think when I powered it off it was at 15% battery if that makes a difference?
Only conclusion I can come too is that the charging port is broke or the circuit. Sadly I don't have anything I can use to try and charge it using the four pin connector at the side to test it. Only thing I haven't tried is to "jump-start" the battery. Just take out battery and strip a usb cable and plug the power wires directly into the battery for half hour but not to sure whether to do that or not and wanna make sure I have exhausted all other options before trying that.
Any ideas?
the last couple of days I've been doing fairly CPU-intensive things like rebuilding the dalvik cache, installing many apps one after another etc. What happens is that the phone gets really hot then just shuts down.
Then I get a red (solid) light if charging. Holding vol+ & power or vol- & power to boot doesn't do anything, I have to open the casing and disconnect and re-connect the battery then it just boots fine.
I found today that if I plug the USB cable into a PC (instead of a wall wart) that I can get into recovery (vol+ & power) or download mode (vol+ & vol- & power) but it only appears for a moment then turns off again and goes back to the solid red light requiring the battery to be disconnected/reconnected.
I've opened the phone 3 times in 2 days to get it to boot up and It's getting tiresome.
Also I've managed to get the phone to stay on the battery icon (not the animated one, the one with the lightning bolt) by doing into download mode and then letting the phone reboot while connected to a PC via USB.
The battery is never flat, once I reconnect the battery the phone indicates it's got a good charge (which seems accurate, ie. it say 40% and lasts several hours after reconnecting)
when i rebuild cache after update or something, i put the phone above a cool surface, otherwise it will warm a lot
Have had the phone for a while now but for some reason recently the phone will randomly shut off. Some times it will immediately start booting back up but more often then not it will just stay black. holding the power button does not turn it back on and some times even holding the power down and the power button doesn't work I just have to wait. I'm not sure whats going on.
The problem is this most recent time it did this and the light was solid blue. after a while a green light started to flash slowly while the blue was still illuminated but the phone would not power on no matter what I tried. I took the back glass off and got to the battery plug and unplugged it (thinking that it was just a hard freeze) now i have no lights and I can't power it on. I don't even get a battery or any lights when I plug the power in.
Has anyone seen anything like this or could give me any other troubleshooting steps I could try to follow? I've put the wireless charger and retainer and screws back in but haven't resealed the back glass in case I have to go back in.
Seems to me like the MMC (memory management controller) chip is dead.
That's a motherboard swap isn't it?
So I opened the phone as disconnected what I think was the screen and some other plug on the bottom left of the mobo maybe the touch synthosizer? I let it sit for about 15 20 mins charging. I plugged all the connectors back in and it booted properly.
Why did that work?
Now that it's up I did a factory reset put apps on one at a time and using Snapchat causes the phone to shut off.
I was trying to fix my phone because I was getting a System UI stopped working error message (another previous post).
I went to turn it on today and nothing... phone is dead. I push the power, and combination of vol buttons, hold, press, etc... nothing.
even when I plug in the power cable, I don't even get the "Charging" icon coming up.
any ideas?
this phone problem went down hill really quick.
Try to hold power button for over 10 seconds.
If doesn't help at all than try different charger/cable.
Leave it on charge for a few hours as when battery is completely discharged it may take a long while to start up
