Recover corrupt JPEG Files after transfer to SD Card. - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to I can recover corrupted Jpegs? After transferring them to my SD card the they only showed up in my gallery as a black box with a grey photo icon. It was all the photos on my camera and others that we're download. I'm only worried about the ones I took with my phone camera because my son was born November 5th and I have photos at the hospital when he was born and others since and now they are all just gone. I'm devastated. I don't have any cloud options on my phone on so that's out. Please if someone can help me with suggestions on what to do I'd appreciate it a lot! Thanks...

Corrupt Photos

I have just been for a visit to Toronto and used my HD2 to take my pictures including of Niagara Falls from inside the horseshoe falls with amazing views. I have just returned and tried to view them and it seems to have corrupted half the pictures!!! Ive tried copying the files to my pc and using jpg repair applications but nothing seems to work. The files are saved on my memory card but they just wont open!
Anyone have any solutions or is good at repairing images and wouldnt mind having a look for me? I really dont want to lose these pics!
hi
have the same problem with a 32gb sd card who appears to be a "fake" one.
I m afraid only the file names are on the card, but pictures are jammed or impossible to access (maybe even not recorded!)
I didn't find a solution

Not all of my pictures are not showing up in Gallery

I've had my phone for a few weeks. It's rooted with a Rom. I've had no problems viewing all of my pictures that are located on my SD Card.
Then yesterday (I'm unsure if I did something while messing with the phone but don't think so) I noticed that I wasn't able to view my camera pictures.
So I took a couple of pictures to see if those one showed up. It did. The pictures are in the right spot as well. Again I'm unable to view all of my pictures.
Before I noticed anything I was taking a lot of screen shots and placing them in folders on my SD Card. I can view those pictures.
Today, I did a clean flash with a different rom. Assuming that would help (I was already planning to change roms).
Still the same issue.
Can Someone maybe help me with this situation?
Do you see the pictures if you put the SD card on your computer?

Google Photos not deleting files from device.

I'm noticing that I'm building up Image data even though I'm deleting every picture I take off of the device once it's uploaded to the cloud. However when I check the SD card storage the pictures are still there. Thumbnails as well. Hire can I fix this?
Bueller.... Bueller?
So far I've tried deleting data from Photos camera, and media storage to no avail.
I'm thinking it might have to do with the trash holding photos for 60 days before permanently deleting.

Not sure if you've done this, but with newest version of photos, you can go into Settings and select Free Up Space and then it'll look for already uploaded photo to the cloud and remove it from your device. I do this about every 2 weeks to free up the device. I recommend cross reference the photos between app and photos.google.com to make sure. Also have NAS locally to back it up too.

sorry messenger was unable to process the file

Here's a new one on me. I took some pictures and all a sudden I can't share them with messaging or messenger. I get sorry "messenger was unable to process the file" I am using quikpic and also tried snap gallery. i tried clearing data/cache for quikpic and messages, did a smart clean and a reboot. I'm lost. any help is appreciated. I hope i don't have to reset.
looks like my camera pics moved back to the internal memory somehow and my explorer app still shows them on the SD card and when i try to open them then they won't load because they're not there. stock cam still shows SD card for storage. one of my camera apps must have glitched the phone.
So i copied the pics from internal camera folder to the external now i can' t look at those either. i think the file folder structure is glitched. the quikpic still can read pics from the memory card other then what i copied over. i do'n't know what happened. could have happened with Gcam froze up last night after taking a few pictures. so i loaded a diff camera to take pictures in a hurry. they must have both been trying to write to memory.
i still can't get my photos to my computer or anything. i can view them with photo galleries, edit with snapseed and send to mom with messaging through snapseed but the exported files can't be viewed either. i have some really nice pics of my pet birds that isn't easy to take sometimes. Is there some way to recover them?
now i am having the same problem when trying to load music from the file manager. the players say the file was modified or deleted.

photo suddenly disappeared

I was on holiday for 3 weeks and using s10+ to take a lot of photo but just before the holiday finish I find that all the photo taken before June are all gone. All I have left with are the photos taking since June 1st. I look at the recycle bin but there is nothing. Also tried unmount and remount the sd card but it doesn't help either.
There are some other reports on the internet for the same issue. I am just wondering does anyone here has a clue on how to get the missing photo back?
Just a thought but check your Google photos if they are there perhaps? Google photos sometimes deletes pics from your phone after uploading them to the cloud.
