Is there a rom for this phone besides oxygen original that has camera and sensors working and is OK as a daily rom? I was used with OnePlus one having every rom working.

Not yet, since there's not stable cm12 or cm13 to use as core for all the other roms they all suffer the same.

I've been running SkyDragon v3 for the past couple of days and haven't had any problems. Camera, sensors and fingerprint scanner all seem to work.
Yeah, all roms based of oxygen os has all the functions of that rom working as good as in the original.

I've been having terrible problems (with lag, and hanging/freezing) with Oxygen 2.2, the phone is almost unusable.
I'm wondering if ROMs that are based on Oxygen, like SkyDragon, have the same bugs and issues.

I expereinced the same problems as you did. I have been using the SkyDragon for a week and never faced the lag like OxygenOS. You can definitely try it.
Yes. SkyDragon has been so much better than Oxygen 2.2. I'm having no lag or issues at all, and battery is much improved.
Is it I was looking at it last night

Hey guys,
Its been awhile since I used CM (2 months I think).
I like cm and aosp a lot, but the stock system is running pretty well. The main reason why I prefered stock was the stability and battery life in some ways.
So, I think cm and aosp roms changed a lot and even updated a lot.
When I used cm even the camera was better I made a comparassion with the cameras and everyone told me that the cm one is the best, even without any mod.
So, now I'm thinking about to try cm and/or aosp again, but I want to know something about the stability and some alternatives.
My main thing I really want is stability, this point is really necessary , then comes the call quality, on kk stock it's.. well, not the best, at least for me. Maybe it because of a custom rom? I don't know.
After that what about smart stay feature? Is there an app for that? I really like the feature tho.
Afaik cm, PA Rom and Mahdi Rom are pretty good and popular but I don't know about these things.
Can you say something about it? I would appreciate it, thanks.

SlimKat has been great for me. You can try and give that ROM a shot if you'd like.
At this point in time, you will not find a custom KK rom with stability that matches stock. I was getting 5+ random reboots / sleeps of death on CM 11. Just switched to Mahdi rom, and I'm down to about 1 per day. From my understanding, until LG releases their KK kernel code and that code is implemented by the rom developers, stability of custom roms will suffer.
Slim kat! I think it's one of the best ROM you can flash on your g2, it is quite stable fast and smooth. And it has a lot of customization!

Looking at the OP2
Hardware looks good, but reading the bugs reported in Oxygen OS seems to be higher than the average.
reading about it over at the oneplus is just a toxic pool of pain
Thought I'd ask XDA for a better balanced answer
How good a daily driver is the OP2 in its pure stock OOS 2.2.0 form?
I haven't experienced bugs. At this time they have fixed the important bugs if there were some of them. It's stable now, at least for me.

Oxygen os is quite stable. There are no major bugs just small bugs like contact are arranged by last name and there is small stuttering sometimes while using gesture to open notification center. But you are good to go to use it as daily driver.
I think that most of major bugs are due to bad update flash. A clean flash could do it for you.
Critical thinking will do you wonders. Haven't found one bug yet. What I have found loads of are inexperienced users who have flashed something that they should not and then crying on the official forums that it's the phones fault.
tl;dr no bugs
There might be some Bluetooth problems with certain car stereos and headsets. My brother doesn't use Bluetooth but it has been an ongoing issue for some time for a lot of people.

so stick to the OTA updates and don't mess with it unless you know how to fix it and its good ?

My problem with oxygen os isn't with the bugs. There aren't many, besides a really tedious messaging bug that has been confirmed. My problem is with the speed. It really is not fast, and you may not notice that until you try cm/hydrogen os. It's more than stable for a daily driver, it just spits on the hardware of this phone. This is based off my personal experience of course

i agree with this 100%. its not buggy or even a bad OS, its just very slow and not very smooth compared to other roms like CM or vanilla android. i use the OP2 along my 6P and even my older oneplus with COS12 and its just slower.
Hi guys.
I've using the stock for about 5 months, but it's not as crist fast as my oneolus one.
I'm sure it's a ROM issue and I was thinking to switch to cyanogen. How do u like it and do you like other Roms as well?
Thanks.
PureNexus is the best I ever tried

Should be an issue from your side because my N6P is flying compared to my OPO.
Factory reset might solve the issue - backup first.

This might be due to something else cause OPO is not as smooth a stock 6P. Anyway, ID suggest you to try Pure Nexus, it's really smooth and has many features.

The stock rom is like butter and for sure is way better than my old OPO. Like the others mentioned you should try a factory reset, otherwise try the Purenexus rom, I'm on Purenexus with ElementalX kernel and its coup de grace is the Layers theme engine and customization! Hope this helps

I kicked out Cyanogen about a few years ago when I had the Nexus S. As the above users advised, PureNexus is currently the most-used ROM here, and pair it with your choice of kernel, and you will be good.
I have the OnePlus One too, and it's performance is nowhere near my 6P.
If you're looking for a lot of customizations, DirtyUnicorns or ResurrectionRemix would be great choice too.
Pure nexus, vanir comotio is good. Cyanogen is good. Dirty unicorns is the best. Its fast, perfect on battery, and has anything that exists. Dirty unicorns with their kernel, and I've ran every current ROM.
But I've heard that Cyanogen is still not well developed for this phone, is this true? or can it be used as a daily user ?
After enabling developer options, try reducing Windows Animation Scale and Transition Animation Scales

I may be in the minority but I prefer screwd ROM. The 4/8 milestone release is very smooth, fast, & stable. I was a long time RR user, but since "OK google" detection from the lock screen wasn't reliable Ive switched. I've tried a lot of 6p ROMs tho & pure nexus is a great, stable ROM. I didn't have the best luck with cyanogen, even tho for other devices its been one of my favorite. & some cyanogen based ROMs ive had some minor issues with. For reliability & stability I'd go pure nexus or screwd. For customization I'd go Resurrection Remix, but those are simply my personal preference. DU is also a great rom. Theres lots of ROMs to choose from. I like to try em a wide selection & then decide. Afterall what's the point of having a nexus device if you're going to leave it stock. I guess for me thats any device tho.
Pure nexus rom for sure
I have been using it since I bought my 6p

Screw'd Android does have a nougat based rom (7.0), check out their Google + page. It runs awesome!!
I am surprised that u guys haven't used uberstock..
It's the fastest a rom on Android can be.. Super smooth and fast
Nitrogen OS has been my bread and butter for a couple months now.
One of my favorite Roms has to be Android Ice Cold Project.
It has so many features that you can mess around with to customize the experience the way you want it.
Probably the only downside to this Rom is that it drains battery much faster than Roms with less features, so if you want features but don't mind losing battery life, then this Rom is for you.
Another Rom I can recommend is jgcaap's custom CM13 builds.
It has a little more features than stock CyanogenMod 13 has but it saves a ton more battery life than AICP.
I've been using this Rom for quite a while now and I've had no problems with it so far.
Hope I've assisted you in some way
Have a great day!

Hi All,
Since acquiring MXP back in Oct 2015, I have stayed away from rooting and flashing custom ROM (something which I did from day one on my Samsung Google Nexus) because I was more or less happy with the out of the box behavior.
But now MXP on Marshmellow has become kind of slow and ofcourse Nougat roadmap is still not clear (whether it will at all come in May).
So now I want to join the wagon.
So it would be immensely helpful if you can mention which custom ROM you are using as daily driver and why sticking to it?
My criteria is primarily smooth performance and decent battery (now it doesnt last 12 hours on full charge).
Thanks in advance
Roy
I tried almost every Nougat rom (Tesla, CM, RR, AOSiP, AOSP Extended) and finally been using AOSP Extended. I feel this is the most stable and smooth one out there. I use Greenify & GlassFish script and easily get over 30-40 hours on a single charge. I don't play any games on my phone, just some web browsing, music, whatsapp etc. It has almost all the customization available too.
Just like you I was sticking to stock
Now after the N delay, tested a few custom roms. From my experience, also in gaming, Aosip with Optimus Kernel and GlassfishCP-Optimus script have the best performance, does not overheat and has near stock battery life.
Instead of Greenify (that's behaving weird and sometimes causing wakelocks) I'd recommend Servicely.
Still not tested but also CypherOS should be worth a test run. It seems like the most stable and lighter rom on paper!
all nougat roms have camera bug,,d camera focus is not so good

Thanks all for your replies - sorry for replying late here.
I have seen Moto G4 Plus camera and I am not too happy with its focus.
Is the same camera app used in Nougat roms as well?
I hope and guess the MXP moto camera app would still work - right?
Thanks again!
i am going to change my stock rom, which custom rom should i choose?
Hello all,
I have been using this ROM with Optimis r20 kernel and latest GlassfishCP script since last 4 days.
This is my first custom ROM in MXP, so I must congratulate the devs who have made this usable as daily driver.
Mostly has been running fine with two odd reboots from Recent screen.
-------------------------------------------- Problem below is fixed ------------------------------
One odd observation-FB is unable to get updates, even within app when in mobile data mode. Works perfectly fine with Wifi. Otherwise mobile data works fine and other social apps work fine in mobile data mode. Any guidance if this makes sense, would help.
--------------------------------------------------- Solution by @manddar --------------------------------
This happened to me as well on almost all ROMs, in my case mms internet access point was setup instead of one which is required for internet, www to be exact for Vodafone India.
Try to switch it and you will be good to go. Alternate method is to remove proxy from access point.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My one of the most important criteria was battery life which has not improved till now. I would still reserve my view on that as it's been only 4 days.
Camera focussing has also been same as before in stock MXP using stock Moto camera app(not g4).
Cheers
Roy.
I primarily use RR as my daily driver. Mainly because it has the most features out of all roms. I like having as much customization options as possible. Battery life is pretty good for me, and the rom is stable and performs quite well.
My second choice would be either AOSP Extended or AOSIP. Both have a lot features as well, and they're very smooth and have excellent battery life.
I don't use any mods or custom kernels.

I don't see such an issue. Maybe you have some hardware issue or a scratched lens. What ROMs did you try?
Any one facing issue with quick charge? It stopped working on my phone
AOSCP because:
-Pixel style;
-Same battery life as stock;
-No bugs whatsoever
I'm on aokp rom since early January and it has been my daily driver ever since. No sudden reboot, no app crashes, everything works fine, bluetooth, gps, moto camera, google camera (I use it only for lens blur effect). maybe someday I'll try the aoscp or the aicp roms.
