Help needed. Can we convert CDMA to GSM? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently bought a Samsung S5 from US. It is a tracfone company phone with straighttalk. It has a tracfone CDMA/LTE sim card in it and I haven't purchased any prepaid plan from straighttalk yet so I can't activate it. I live in India and in order to get it unlocked here, it has to be converted from CDMA to GSM. Is there anyway I can get my phone working? Any help will be appreciated.

With or without a sim card?

Hey everyone,
Are the 3g versions going to be CDMA with Verizon meaning no SIM card? I purchased the NYC wi-fi only tab and will be tethering, but a friend was curious about the 3g option. I said that i think it will be with verizon and will not have a sim, but wasn't 100% sure. I remember that the I/O ones came with free Verizon LTE for a short period of time which led me to my conclusion. Could someone please clarify for me? Thanks for the help! Excuse me if I am way off here...haha.
The only one officially ANNOUNCED so far is from Verizon w/CDMA, no SIM card.
If the Verizon edition has 4G LTE it'll have a SIM card slot (LTE requires a SIM).
What about the 3G bands used by the device? I have not been able to find any specific details about them ):
One would assume that the Verizon edition will support their normal bands (800/850Mhz & 1900Mhz and if LTE 700Mhz).

GT-i9505 Frequencies and Carriers for the U.S.

Hello everyone, I just had my Nexus 4 stolen on vacation and needed a new phone. I've always purchased unbranded, unlocked phones to get cheap pre-paid plans from carriers. I'd like to stick with the T-Mobile $30 per month plan here in the States. After looking at the frequencies, I'm not sure if T-Mobile's SIM would get HSPA+ speeds in the GT-i9505. How about LTE using AT&T?
I looked at the frequencies and some of the bands for this phone and the carriers and some aren't listed for this phone hence my confusion. Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
I can't post the link because I'm new but the description is confusing stating " NOT FOR USA LTE, Not for Verizon or Sprint, Works on Tmobile GSM but not 3G."
You could get the Google edition. It has support for ATnT and T-Mobile LTE.

No compatibility between Verizon Carrier and SM-N900W8

As far as I know, Verizon is using the N900V on their network which requires CDMA band.
I bought a SM-N900W8 from Telus Canada and after having it unlocked, I was unable to have it registered under my Verizon account.
So, not wanting to pay the outragious roaming price that we have from our greedy Canadian Carriers, I purchased an AT&T Pay as you GO sim card.
TaDa!!!!
This is due to the use by Verizon of CDMA band which isn't supported by most Canadian Cellphone that requires at least WCDMA OR LTE/GSM Band.
So, if you're planning to travel the USA and are looking to get an American SIM Card, most likely, verizon will not be an option for you (they're expensive anyway)
AT & T and T - mobile supports the GSM as far as I know.
