I tried different leak rom before,
and right now I am using official froyo
Every time after starting up the system, or after mounting the SD card,
when the media scanning is finished, launcherpro is not responding and hanging.
Anyone got the same thing?

I think another update is coming soon for lp. I sometimes get a lockup and fc in 2.1 with lp

I have the same thing, it's so annoying that I switched to Zeam. Hopefully a new update will come soon.
Same thing happens to me. I am running official Rogers Froto on my AT&T Captivate. I tried looking in the logs for something, but I couldn't find anything. Send a emails to the developer.
Yea I've tried like 20 roms.always locks up and force closes after reboot. Sometime it sits for like 5 mins before the fc message pops up. I have the plus version and running Axura 2.2.7.1 Voodoo.contacted tech support about it and he said that its my rom.can't be. tried 20 different Roms.pisses me off.

I have had this happen a couple of times as well. However, I have noticed that it only happens when I try to start opening things or moving between home screens before the media scanning has finished. If I let it do its thing, then it doesn't seem to hang ever. Still kind of annoying, and I don't know if that is the case with you all as well, but that seems to be what causes it on mine.

LP runs fine for me, but I'm having a problem having it stick as the default launcher. Whenever I use Titanium Backup or long-press the home button, I'll get the prompt asking me which home application. There are a couple of other apps that result in the same problem, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I've tried using Home Switcher to see if that fixes it, but no luck. I have the same problem with ADW EX.
This is happening to me as well.
If it locks up, try repeatedly hitting home, usually will give me a prompt to wait or fc. I never get this issue on my galaxy tab and it's running 2.2

Looks like there is enough evidence to show them launcher pro has some kind of problem in vibrant 2.2
This happens to me as well. Hold the hime button then go to task manager and kill lp.

When lp acts funny for me I hit the power button then unlock it and that usually works for me.
LauncherPro has worked great on my device with 2.2 (Nero V5) the only time I seem to notice anything is when the media scan is finishing its thing and there are to many apps running at start up in the background. I use advance task killer to kill the apps that do not need to be running and I never seem to have the problem again until I reboot. It doesn't seem to me to be a LauncherPro issue, media scan seems to bring the device to its knees until it is finished. Once my device is running smooth I never seem to have that issue again only after I reboot my device.
Love my Vibrant and LauncherPro Plus is far better then all the other Launchers I have tried (in my humble opinion) but each of us have different needs I guess. I actually use almost everyone of the widgets and can not wait for the update coming when the gmail widget will be added to the Launcher.
cheers

Yes this is what i do everytime after starting up...
But still so annoying and the should fix it.
So just to update on the topic I downloaded Launcher Pro again today and everything works well. No hanging after reboot and no other problem from what I've seen. You guys may want to give it a try.

I was using Nero5 and got the same problem FC alot in LauncherPro. I couldn't save the LP settings though. What seemed to fix it is removing LP and reinstall it. After that, things seem to work better and less FC with LP.
I'm using stock Froyo now with fresh LP install from the market, no FC so far. So I would say it's not LP always hanged in 2.2...but something is stuck or got carried over from previous installation/ROM. Just try remove it and reinstall LP again from Market, it should work better - at least for me, it did.

Same thing happens to mu phone on adw ex... when i turn my phone off and turn it back on, the screen goea blank, i can only see the notification bar scanning, but would hang on black screen then shuts off by itself.. that's with stock ka7.. now im on ka6 kies version and my phone is fine...
or maybe the cause was the lock screen? I used the pin code lock screen.. it could be it? Now im on ka6 official and with pattern lock screen, it seems fine... and i domt wanna try and use any other lock screen besides the pattern one. Ive done countless reflash because o this issue.. so no more flashing, lol.. but i could be wrong though, it could be something else that's causinrit, just speculating..
The only time I've experienced a FC of any kind on LPP, is when I had Colorize running with it. They don't play nice together. Other than that, it's been 100% stable for me with any rom.

Definitely not a known issue. Try downloading app cache cleaner from the market and clearing all cache. Also clear data for the market and browser.

Fast reboot does a reboot like process and make the tab as if it has rebooted...but in 1 or 2 secs... Kills almost all the apps except those in auto restart
Ok I'll try the fast reboot. I tried clearing cache and memory but still the same!
Fast reboot did not help, the problem still the same!
This kept happening to me after the latest update, and yes, I had to reboot each time. Suddenly it stopped happening. I'm using Swype only.

Isn't life wonderful when things just fix themselves?
I often wonder how much of things fixing themselves is actually from something done during normal use that we're just unaware of.

Okay, so I decided to take my Nexus 7 back to stock before I upgraded to 4.4 so I erased everything, formatted, returned to stock 4.3 and the I updated and rooted with SuperSU while keeping stock recovery. I honestly haven't touched my Nexus since then because I been inundated with work. Today I pick it up and browse to xda on chrome to download some files and while going through the forum I get a pop up (one of those old school ie pop ups) that says "Android virus detected on device, scan now."
Now granted, I haven't yet installed any ad-blocking services but I can't even remember the last time I got a bogus pop up like on my computer let alone on a mobile device, and never on xda. WTH? Not gonna lie, kind of freaked me out. Anyone else experience this?
Okay seriously now I'm actually worried. I just decided to reset the device and now I'm stuck in the start up. I get to the WiFi selection page. I click my WiFi enter my password and it connects BUT there's no way to move forward. There is no next button. The only thing on the bottom of the screen is the back nav key. I've turned off and restarted the device twice and no luck. First I get apps and Google services stopping all over the place and now the start up wizard is acting out. I don't want to re-flash 4.4 all over just yet. Any one experience this before?

Crazy, never had these kind of pop ups before. Did you ever have them before updating to 4.4?
The problem with resetting is I keep getting stuck on the freaking wifi page. It connects but instead of moving to next page after I click connect, it just connects and remains on the same page. I try clicking forget and re-entering the pw but nothing works. I've even tried resetting and clearing cache from recovery and I still keep getting stuck on this damn page. Frustrating. I guess I really am going to need to re-flash the update.

Do you have access to any other Wi-Fi network (like a Tethered connection from your phone)? Can you try connecting to it and see if you are able to move forward?
I'm getting the pop up asking to scan but I cancel it and it goes away. That's been my only issue.

Yeah, this is beginning to get on my nerves. Resetting has made *no* difference for me. In fact, I just re-flashed the whole freaking update and first webpage I open up in Chrome, pop ups, switch to dolphin, pop ups, firefox, pop ups. It's happening on two devices and one isn't even rooted. Are your pop ups from ib.adnxs.com as well? Because that's where all my "virus" pop ups are from. I would say it's malware but I haven't even the slightest idea where it might have came from. As of right now the only apps on my devices apart from the pre-installed ones are Greenify, Solid Explorer, Quickpic, Stickmount, SuperSU, Dropbox and ZArchiver. Never had malware with any of these apps so I don't even know where this ib.adnxs is generating from and it's annoying the ever living **** out of me.
I don't know if I should suspect the GEL or the Google Search update, because really I can't think of where else this is coming from.

1. Where did you get the "stock" image?
2. Where did you get the update OTA?
I only ask because yesterday I DL'd a "stock" image for another device from Sammobile & I found that it had some host file changes. The odd thing was that for the first time I can remember, my corporate security client wouldn't let me DL it as it detected a risk, so I dl'd to an isolated secure drive & tore into it, hence finding the modified hosts.

So I did a brief search on ib.adnxs and a bunch of links came up talking about malware affecting browsers. Mostly pop ups happening everytime you open a web page or a new tab.
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/nym1-ib-adnxs-com-virus/
Check this out. If you google on "ib.adnxs android", there is a link that talks about android browsers been affected by it too.
Hope it helps.
Probably malware infected ad server and has nothing to do with the image as long as you got it from a legit source. You can reduce your risk by using something like OpenDNS servers.
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, I looked it up as well but man it's still frustrating. I Know it' not the OTA or the GEL/Google Search because I got them from a legit source (AP), I was just venting. I don't even know if it is the servers, no one else in the household is experiencing it, hell even my note 2 doesn't have the problem. I'll try using OpenDNS to see if it makes any difference.

I tried running Avast and MalwareBytes and nothing comes up, but I'm still getting the same pop ups, both "virus detected, scan now" and almost full page pop up ads that I can never close. Seriously, trying to close the ads just takes me to a new page, backing out is the only thing that works for some of them. I'm stumped. SuperSU is updated so no worries there. I even went back and locked my bootloader but I don't think that has anything to do with it since the second tablet isn't even unlocked. I'm beyond frustrated, I almost threw my Nexus on the hardwood. I'm going to try flashing the factory images straight from Google. Don't expect it to change anything but...I'm using my note 2 in the mean time.
I'm the only person in the household with android tablets (the phones seems to be fine oddly enough but then again none of them are updated to kitkat). My friend has a Nexus 5 so I'm going to get her over here on my wifi to see if the pop ups show up in her browsers. Maybe this thing has been on the servers all along and there's a vulnerability in kitkat that's allowing it through? I don't know.

Hi guys.
I can't get any results when searching with S Finder. I have checked in settings and all options are ticked. To consider this includes chrome being ticked, the minimum i should be getting back is Internet results. I have even made sure to create an S Note that should return results.
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
anyone have any ideas on this?
thanks
I was hoping that someone would have at least a thought on thus.
I have tried wiping the data in the s finder app but still no good.
I booted into safe mode and it worked on about 5-6 searches. After i rebooted into normal mode it worked for about 3-4 searches so I thought it was sorted. The next time I came back into the app and searched again, no good it just carried on searching and not returning any results.

Exactly same problem... I even did a factory reset and flashed again the rom (official) to correct it. It did, but when I let the apps download again from the play store, same problem reappeared. I don't get it, I even blocked apps like greenify from redownloading because I thought it could have something to do, no result. Further I didn't touch the rom, didn't inactivate any mother-apps. I would appreciate any ideas. It seems that some app is interfering with s finder...
Problem is solved but do not ask me why.
Tried a lot of s finder settings.
I remember that I changed categories quite a lot. Give it a try. Also change filter settings etc.

It's the PayPal app. At least that's what did it for me.
Spent an hour on the phone with Samsung tech support and they eventually told me to reset my phone to factory settings. I was very angry because I just bought this phone yesterday and spent the whole day setting it up to how I like it, and now I had to reset it.
After reset, it worked just fine. So I went through the app store and downloaded all the apps I use.... And then it started glitching exactly like the Op said. So I uninstalled app after app until it worked... And PayPal was the last app to go. So to test it, I reinstalled PayPal and kept it checked in S Finder's search settings, and voila, it glitched. So I unchecked it, restarted my phone, and now S Finder works just fine.
Let me know if this helped anyone. I've spent the last 4 hours trying to fix this issue, and it would be nice to know if it helped anyone. If anyone knows of any other app that freezes S Finder, post it here. Samsung needs to fix this
Btw, sorry for bumping an old thread. No one had a solution, so I'm just trying to help people out.

Thank you so much for posting this!!!
Myself I had factory reset the device a couple of times already because of other malfunctions and battery drain, therefore when I found this problem I couldn't go through the same process again. I knew it must have been an app because when I initially turned on my device, before restoring the apps, the search function was working ok. I also contacted the samsung helpdesk who didnt have a clue, they suggested a factory reset and one by one app installation (thanks, I could think so far by myself!).
Now, after uninstalling the Paypal app, search function works perfect, no problems what so ever. Thank you very very much again!!!

Btw, sorry for bumping an old thread. No one had a solution, so I'm just trying to help people out.

Most of the time I got this message from stock android browser.I tried chrome, dolphin. But no use. Anyone face the same problem? Please help me
I have this same problem on sprint model. Happend on zv8, and zva. Usually if I close and restart the browser it works again. I have no fix but it does happen. I also get pop ups in the stock browser alot for sites that have security certificates that say they are invalid. However when I inspect them, they are. The latter happens a ton when browsing XDA actually. Its related to the advertising they use on the site.
Mine does it but only o in the stock browser, I switched to boat and disabled stock and it works fine
