Hi,
Any idea how can I find the SPC code for QPST for the OPT?
I want to try updating QCN file, in order to enable lte band3 on US device.
Thanks

Any luck on unlocking bands on this?
I was scammed and im sitting with an asian version since i gave my eu version to my wife..
I see results with the Mi Note Pro wich has the snapdragon 810 also, so it should work on the OPT as well, but no luck for me

As far as I know, you cannot unlock different LTE bands as they're set in the phone's hardware.

They said the same thing for the opo but its all in the qualcomm chip.
People have been having progress with the opt but it halted and i saw more potential in this thread. More talanted people here.

Yep, if it's going to happen, it would appear here but there were a lot more devs around for the OPO and it still didn't come to anything...

Maybe, but no OPO LTE bands were unlocked via the methods used in any XDA thread.
Hello
How to do a QCN backup of the phone?
Is this possible?
Does the QCN file contain a full dump of the phone itself?
How to set the cell phone to diagnostic mode so it's possible to obtain the backup?
Thank you.
I my self have the US version.
I was able to get a full QCN from it. However I need to compare it to EU version (witch I do not have for now), to try to reserve engineer the LTE settings.
One thing I noticed, is that some calibration settings are missing for band3 (witch I need).
In case any one have a QCN for EU version, please PM me and maybe I will be able to start comparing it to the US version.
If you can teach me how to get a QCN from the phone? I am not able to set it to diagnostic mode..

to set it to diag mode dial
*#801# and then select the Engineering mode.
I used QXDM Pro 3.14.594 to get the QCN in xml format (more readable).

However, I never did this before. Is there a manual where it explains info about this?
I tried to set the engineer mode to yes, then turned off the phone, pressed volume up and put the USB cable in.
QPST still reports the phone is not in diagnostics, but it's in Download mode.
WHat am I doing wrong?
Thanks

you do not need to reboot the phone and get it in download mode.
simply set the engineering mode, and connect it to the PC.
In case the drivers are installed, QPST should identify it.
Which drivers should be installed to obtain this?
It only shows ADB Interface and Android as unknown devices.
I have installed the Qualcomm drivers, ADB drivers available from Google, and the OnePlus drivers that come with the phone and some other Qualcomm Host USB drivers.
What's going on here. Should I install a specific driver manually?
Thanks
I installed the Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostic 9010 driver and it seems it worked as the phone is being recognized. However when I take a XQCN or QCN backup, the progress bar stays in the middle even if it was completed as displayed on the image.
Besides that. How can I ensure this copy is right and has no issues? It seems there are size differences depending on different versions.
My QPST version is 2.7 build 430 as this seems to be the most recent version I could find.
Does inputting the SPC code extract more information related to a full restore? I am not interested on unlocking bands, but keeping a full nand copy
Thanks

Hello all,

But when I went into setting to choose network mode then I only find 3G and lte options. No GSM/WCDMA options there. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

hi ,
ok .i do not have the exynos variant ,but N910f Snapdragon .I have Lollipop ..BOC5 running on device .
However i do not think above issue , would make much of a diffs ,as its "software related issue" ?
Check my screenshot for difference to yours ( all my devices ,no matter what Rom i was using eg German ,UK etc always reflects the same .)
Maybe look a bit wider eg ..Carrier software ..etc
But i find it very strange you have no other network options ?
good luck

910K is a Koreean version. It seems that the software is how to put it...branded, and the gsm/edge options are not available, as the carrier that sels the variant of phone does not use those frequencies... I can't figure out any other explanation. Maybe flashing a different variant of lollipop would help, but I am not shure if the LP variant from the international version of 910C is compattible with 910K. I will do a search if my time allows it and get back to you. Cheers!

Factory unlocked...as in you can use any sim card from any carrier. The problem here is your ROM...that comes with a little extra "features" implemented In your case it is a branded software by KT Corporation / Koreea Telekom

After almost 2000 posts to your credit and being on XDA since 2012, everyone is probably confused as to why you're asking and why you haven't tried already.
If K1 is not a locked bootloader, like we've now seen with the COJ5, you should be able too.
I've never seen anyone post not being able to flash back to an older modem. Unless it was user error like picking the wrong one, for a different phone.

I'm just too afraid of permanently damaging my phone.
Numbers do not matter, I still learn. Sure, I know more than someone new to the community but that doesnt change the fact that I dont know everything.
The person right above you has problems with his phone now. I'm just trying to prevent that from happening to me too.
Anyway, if I flash the COJ5 bootloader, there is no going back?

Do you mean that you were not able to connect to your network operator? And after changing your IMEI to the one the original sticker you were able to connect?
I seem to have deleted my IMEI after recovering via TWRP and now I am not able to connect to my network operator anymore...
I was in a similar situation a while back. The tool and steps found here helped me rewrite my IMEI on my A2017U. I lost it after a couple of mindless flashing.
https://www.gizdev.com/repair-imei-snapdragon-device/
It was simple and effective. Like I said, I rewrote my IMEI ( the one ln the back of my device) and didn't have a problem with cellular, data and/ Wifi.

Whoops than I misunderstood the subject and now I've kinda hijacked the topic with a different issue
Mi scuzi
Mmm... I succeeded in rewriting my IMEI numbers, had to go back to stock and had a hassle with rerooting the phone, but in the end that part was succesfull.
Sadly the network connection is still non functional. After rewriting the IMEI numbers it started of with full bars but no data connection, after a few minutes
the phone disconnected from the network all together.
Seems that the issue is a bit harder to solve and according to different topics pretty much unsolvable...

Well, I'm on the A2017U, and I followed the exact steps on the page. Make sure you meet the requirements before starting and take your time. It's easy to make a minor error in these things if you're desperately looking for solutions
After an update to B13 without bacukp, my A2017 B07 has lost the IMEI, when 'call' * # 06 #, imei 1 and 2 are 000 ..., when accessed through the phone menu, a different value of the real appears.
I tried
- https://www.gizdev.com/repair-imei-snapdragon-device/#prettyPhoto
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1zwvTU7ajM
but the two options unsuccessful.
Could someone help me in any way? If I had some EFS backup, could I change the IMEI with ease?
Sorry for my english, I'm using GoogleTranslate.

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
Service mode is a hidden menu settings that's only accessed through the dialer code by putting in the above numbers. It's used to make changes to the phone. It's not recommended tinkering with it unless you know what you're doing since it can completely brick your phone.

No idea then, original code works here.
I had the same problem. But I flashed older firmware and now its working. Only on new bootloader AQG5 is not working.
Same here, downgraded to june update to get service mode back.
Can you guys share how you downgraded to the June update

Also check service menu code or Samsung phone info app from playstore to check lock status of your phone
If locked
Try using tool/apps like Samsung Firmware Tool,Z3x to unlock or check forum for unlock method

I don't think it has anything to do with a custom ROM it has more to do with EFS and CERT
I'm sure there are several ways of unlocking your device
1)you can turn to legit paid services
2)you can look up for applications that allow for unlocking Z3x,Octopus/Octoplus, Samsung Firmware Tool etc
3)you can look up for local hardware/software repair shops that offer unlocking for phone's (usually coz they have expensive box)
When you have finally run out of options
4)if in your country its legal/allowed to change your device IMEI then get a working cert/efs for N910V

whats the problem then ?? im Lost
The problem can be your device being locked, your only hope is local marketplace or using a tool yourself but most of these applications ship with box and that is very costly there are cracked versions too with loader but obviously I am not at liberty to provide them on xda ,the other issue is most of these applications with loader wont have support for N910V because I check the one I have and thats the latest one I could grab ill check Samsung Professional Tool for you as well if it has N910V in device list
