Does anyone know what character to store in a contacts' number so that I can dial straight through to an extension?
E.g. my work number is 01436 111111 extension 9999 - I thought if I stored it as 01436111111*9999 and hit Dial, it would ring straight through.
But no matter how many stars or hashes (#) I put, it always just rings the first part (i.e. connects me to the automated switchboard.
Cheers
you need to put a "p" in their for a pause.
You can put multiple p's if one isn't a long enough pause before it starts dialing the extension
I.E:
01436111111p9999
I don't think you can do this when you're dialing a number, but you can do it when you save a contact number. So just put the number in your contacts and you'll be good 8)
Hello,
Does anybody know how I can modify phone numbers before dialing.
Here are the things I need to do:
- dail from contacts but need to make changes before dialing
- dial number by mistake, need to correct and dial again
- modify a recently dial number and dial
I think this is more of WM5 dialer issue.
Currently I have to copy the number paste it in a note, modify, copy and paste it to dialer.
You can't even dial some numbers and than paste the rest to the dialer. The moment you paste, it replaces anything that is there.
This is quite a pain for me and about the 1 of few issues I have with this almost perfect phone for me.
Thanks for any input.
Hey guys,
Ther is one thing missing in the HTC Call Manager. This is the possibility to copy paste a number and send it as DTMF.
This is needed for instance when you do phone banking, etc...
Any idea guys of any utility who can do that?
Cheers;
Miles

No addtional software required
to send dtmf tones on contact page go to notes and set the numbers you need you need to send as DTMF:12345 then hit enter the text should then turn blue and underline like a link on webpage
to use tones call number as usual then go to notes page and tap the link

What do you mean by " set the numbers you need " ?? if your saying to "highlight" the numbers (like when editing) then the numbers are actually deleted??!!
I have it set up to use for topping up a toll pass so my notes page looks like this
DTMF:12345 (account number)
DTMF:5678 (pin number)
DTMF:20 (amount to top up toll pass)
DTMF:333322424 (credit card number)
DTMF:2034 (credit card date)
All dtmf links just need to be tapped when asked for that info by automated system on the phone

What i mean is how do you get the text to turn blue and underline like a link on webpage ??
You have got to have dtmf in uppercase then : then numbers no spaces then return on keyboard then it turns to link

the feature you mean is called copy and paste.
select the number in the sms, hold to oppen menu and choose copy, then you have it in the clipboard. you may now call it, save it or do whatever you want. just choose paste in your target app.

If what you want to do is save it to contacts then it is even easier.
tap the number to dial it and when the phone asks you to confirm you want to dial the number - press menu->save to contacts
Is there a way to type numbers during a phone call, and right after hanging up dialing that number. This is very usefull for example if I talk with someone who gives me another number to call.
In my Hero, even if I am typing a number, when call ends, the number disappears.
thanks
i dont think there is out of the box.
download a notes app from the market.
while on a call, press home to get out of the phone app (it won't hang up) and then open the app.
that's the only way i know of anyway.
Either the notes app or save the new number as a contact..both can be done during a call.
