Can anyone explain to me why I would root my phone? What are the benefits of rooting? I know you can flash roms or install Xposed framework after root but what are some other reasons to root?

There are countless articles online on why one would root, start with Google.

1) Is there a rooting method for the T-Mo version already? I'm sort of unclear based on the threads.
2) Does rooting wipe the device?
3) is anything like safestrap needed for rooting, or just if we want custom recovery?
All I really want is to remove bloat.

How about you flash any custom rom you want and then use root cloak which hides the root from apps you define meaning your banking app can't see that you are rooted.
This way you can be rooted and use banking app. You will need to have xposed installed for this to work. Use Google to read up on root cloak.

Sadly this doesn't work with the Barclay's banking app, I've done a lot of searching to find a solution and nothing
There is a good reason not to use banking apps with root... I wouldn't risk doing that... Also to root and unroot or change the kernel every time is cumbersome

You can search and download stock ROM for your phone, then flash via Odin.
Guys,
I rooted my note 4 N910G using CF root method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...-root-t2897428
When I open xmod and other root apps, its asking for root access and its granted. But those apps are asking me to root again.
Means those apps are acting like my phone is not rooted..
Not able to install viper in stock ROM.
May I know the best rooting method for our N910G?
I don't want to install custom ROM because I'm not getting more than 3 hrs SOT.
Thanks.

looks like it is hard to find root for N910G on 5.1.1.. i have been looking all over but to no avail...
You need to install a modified kernel in order to properly root your phone.

Why do you want systemless root if you are running a rom? The whole point of systemless root is to leave the system partition untouched. Pure Nexus system is not untouched.
Is it not possible to run a Rom when you have system-less root?

What did you find out?
Just flash the su uninstall zip and then the newest su zip. Pure Nexus does not touch the system and works with systemless root. Here is a link to an excellent guide by micmars that should tell you everything you need to know.
