Previous SW:
Caliblack ROM (v1.2/1.3)
20d + root + cwm.kdz (via KDZ Updater, naturally)
I had Caliblack ROM (v1.2/1.3), and I got tired of it so I wanted to change it up. I found Cyanogenmod 12.1, so I performed a factory reset and cache wipe (and accidentally a full wipe). I had some trouble installing Cyanogen, so I flashed TWRP (3.8.6.0 if I remember it). From there on, I did some wiping as well since I had to flash Caliblack again, and then installed Cyanogen 12.1. It kinda worked, but I couldn't either unlock my SIM with a PIN (so I couldn't make any calls) - then I got the messages that the com.android.system (or something like that) crashed or whatever, OR, if I was able to unlock the SIM, the GUI just crashed constantly so I couldn't use the phone.
Then, I tried to install other versions of the same ROM (from different dates), and then it was just black screen with some error messages in white, so I had to shut it down and start it in recovery mode and flash something else. So, the last thing I remembered trying is installing v20-new baseband-e610.zip, and immediately after, kernel-v2.zip. When I rebooted the phone, the following screens appeared.
### Couldn't upload any pictures, sorry (forum limitations), the SCREEN 1 is white with yellow/purple colors at the bottom of the screen, and the colors turn into green and blue and fade away (like it's loading something). SCREEN 1 (ALT) is the same, only a bit darker white (bright gray) with dimmed blue and green vertical lines, still with the "loading bar". SCREEN 2 is black, with green in the middle, and SCREEN 3 is just white screen. If you want I could send it to you via PM.
In emergency mode, it starts from SCREEN 1 and goes to SCREEN 1 (ALT) and goes nowhere else (the "bar" that is down is still "loading").
In recovery/regular boot, it starts with SCREEN 1, goes to SCREEN 1 (ALT), SCREEN 2 and SCREEN 3 and stops there.
However, even more and more in the regular/recovery boot, the screen 2 doesn't show up at all.
I can try to install the 20d + root + cwm.kdz (via KDZ Updater) (3GQCT, (CS_)EMERGENCY/DIAG) , but in the end it still shows an error at the end (WParam: 100, LParam: 500) and stops working.
When I connect it with USB, my PC plays that sound when something is connected to the PC, but I can't find it in Windows Explorer (in recovery I could).
--------------------------
What should I do? Is the phone soft/hard bricked, dead and should I give up? Or do you have any solution for this situation? I NEED the answer ASAP, I'm not going to have internet from Tuesday on.
I've done this before, I flashed the new baseband also. I saw the screen every buggy too. I did the following: did the keystrokes going to the download mode without pressing the power button and called the L5 charger. did not work. I did everything I mentioned above, but I connected the USB cable connected L5 on the PC, the screen changed colors. I remained connected and shortly thereafter, I went to check if the PC was recognizing that the L5 was in download mode. after that, I flashed the stock ROM I had and voialá! I was unbricked. do not stop believing, you will get well. if you have telegram, call me there. I can take to answer you, but it will be better than here in xda ....

Thanks for the answer Antonio! I was near giving up.
But the main issue is that the phone has been connected to PC for almost the entire day, and turned on as well. Nothing. Tried connecting it in emergency mode, in regular boot, nothing. ADB says the device isn't connected, the LG toolkit too. PC doesn't recognize/show it as well. I've tried most of the stuff but it's the same. Now it shows only the first two screens (the 2nd one is just a variation of the 1st). And it stayed like that for the entire day.

Salut à tous,
Yesterday, i got a problem with my LG. I wanted to change the Rom and after i finished the procedure, i got and LG Logo Loop
Here a little video a made of the Loop : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZDgzhDNBb0&feature=youtu.be
Normaly, i can change the Rom again by Hard Reseting, but when i press the 3 buttons, nothing happens.
When i connect the phone to the PC, i don't even got the sound that Win8 does when a phone is pluged in, that means that the phone isn't recongnized by the PC, and i allready installed all the Drivers.
I can't enter Emergency mode, when i press the buttons, nothing happens too.
My phone wasn't rooted so i don't have CWM.
I tried LG Support Tool, KDZ Software update, but as i said, the phone isn't recongnized, so i can't do anything.
Some people on forums adviced Medusa Box, but when i launch the app, i got as a message : Card init failed ..
So this is it.
I hope someone can help me. The phone isn't mine, so i'm little afraid of this loop .. Some people on forums said that this is a Hard Break, others said that this is Soft break, other also said that this is a Dalvik Cache Loop ..
Anyway,
Thanx in advance

mAke sure you have install all LG Software on your computer, like usb driver the important one
then download stock rom for your device
and flash it through KDZ Software update,
Try instaling drivers on some win7 pc/laptop, then try to revive the phone via kdz, because win8 sometimes has problems with drivers etc,
Btw which procedure were you using to change the rom?

Download the stock rom (original) for your phone, must know which version there is a lot of version ( V10C, V10G, V10E ...)
Use Kdz updater, if the App crash check compatibility and choose windows XP, in KDZ updater use the mode 3GQCT and phone mode DIAG, browse for the stock rom in the KDZ FILE and click Launch software update.
When i flashed the stock rom i got the loop, so i tried to hard reset it and it worked for me (power + menu + volume down or up i forgot)
Try to hard reset before flash if it doesn't work, flash it.
Okay Thanx again mate, i'll try it now and tell you
Worked ?

I will try to keep this short but... it wont be. Please don't press that back button!
I had 4.4 on my VZ980 rooted device with a custom ROM but I felt like cleaning it up and starting over (phone was acting up a bit, nothing major) so I went ahead and unrooted it successfully back to factory stock. While unrooted I downloaded the new 12b update... just to check it out. After that lost my attention span within 2 seconds, I decided to flash back to 10b and root again. Everything went perfectly.
After rooting I immediately went and put TWRP on my phone (still stock rooted).. but it would not let me flash 2.6.3.4 only 2.6.3.2... which shouldn't have been a big deal but I.. brilliantly decided NO! I WANT 2.6.3.4... yadda yadda tried a couple different ways, then I read about flashify. Attempted to flashify the file and it still did not work. Within a couple of minutes my phone turned off.... no big deal I thought... WRONG!
My phone is stuck on the LG splash screen. It will not boot into recovery mode... it gets stuck on the factory hard reset saying "factory reset processing" no Teamwin logo ever comes up.. no matter how long I let it sit there
Next move was download mode obviously. But alas, that to bit the big one.. and before you ask I tried every possible button combination.. I was making up my own combinations in desperation. The only things I can bring up are factory hard reset and the hardware key control mode.
Heres the big problem. My phone is not recognized (tried on the factory reset screen and hardward key mode too)... not drivers, not ADB, not even the QHUSB_DLOAD that has been populating the scene lately. I tried downloading everything. Different flash tools, different drivers, different USB cords, different computers, I even tried to use a different OS to see if i could get a reaction.. Nothin! Tried LGNPST, QPST, you name it... I tried it! I even took apart the phone, took out the battery and put it back together (I did this with a previous phone stuck on splash screen and it actually made it work again) still sitting on that ugly splash screen.
Is there any thing I am missing.. that I could possibly try? If not... if it is truly bricked then I need help on how to make it so my provider will not see that it says "Rooted" in the top left corner when they try to put it in factory reset mode.
ANY QUESTIONS/SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME! Thank you so much for reading my novela! :good:

Yep, I tried several different types.. latest update, the LG VZW united WHQL_2.11.1 (not sure of exact phrasing), Qualcomm, ADB wont recognize it either. I tried this on 2 different computers, both computers can easily recognize other phones/tablets/etc.

Yeah it's been driving me crazy, i tried to be as thorough as I could trying every option, but everything I thought of hasn't worked. It's going on 2 days of trial and error (but believe me I am no expert on this stuff yet, def still learning... the hard way) I do have warranty, but it says rooted in the factory hard reset (when attempting to get to TWRP but it freezes or wont load) so thats another problem!

HEY! I'm on the d801 as well and I've been where you're at a number of times, unfortunately. But I've always gotten out. Here's the conclusion I've reached. Trying to flash directly back to stock without wiping all the partitions first is what makes the RDTool get stuck. It's like the phone runs out of memory and can't host a full Gig+ of data since your last ROM is in the way. Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm only assuming you didn't wipe everything except the Internal storage. The good thing every time this has happened to me is that your recovery partition should be intact. Mine always is, and we're on the same variant. Another thing, booting back into recovery is not impossible. It's all in the timing it takes from the first time you see the LG logo while holding volume - and the power button, but don't let go. What worked for me was to let the phone cycle between off and boot power states twice until the phone is completely off again. You may even notice the LED indicator flash red. Release your keys if the phone stays off and immediately hold the combo down again until the phone tries to boot again just don't let go of the buttons. Once it powers down again, leave the phone alone for a few minutes. Come back and this time get ready to boot into recovery. The combo button press will initiate boot but don't let go until the next time you see the LG logo flash, then quickly release and depress the vol down power up combo and hold. May take a minute longer than usual but the reset menu should pop up thereafter. Tap power 2 more times and you should back into recovery. It's worked every time for me. Let me know if you're good and whether this helped!
Good Luck,

twrp wasnt working after i had restored my back up go straight to fastboot was stuck in fastboot until i found a thread explaining how to get out of fastboot and restore download mode.
managed to get download mode working and tried to flash stock with mobile support tool and got the 49 percent error,
my phone never really displayed any progress just says download mode with a white box and blue dots

K, now if you're only seeing the blue dots when you attach by USB your phone to PC, then you're not fully in DL mode to process the kdz. You should see a white wheel in the center of the screen when you connect and a viewing mirror near the base of your phone with ROOTED in red directly below that. And you're sure your PC is detecting your phone? You've the drivers installed? Because when RDT tells you to run the tool, you'll see some binary code in the viewing window I spoke of, the white wheel will turn and below it will be shown the COM port to which you're connected and a solid thin red bar will begin to fill a space in the viewer showing you the progress.
Also, be sure when attempting the first steps I gave you to boot into recovery that you are not USB connected. It won't work.
And, try to remember if your phone was well enough charged, should have been at least 80% full. It happened to me once that I couldn't boot recovery and my phone would go to fastboot like yours until I left it alone to charge and then I repeated the stepsvi laid out to get back into recovery. This part is paramount!
Please READ CAREFULLY
I used to be in your same situation. I thought I had bricked my phone for good. I finally figured it out. Here is my solution from my Thread.
Esteef said:
Okay, after 12+ hours of trying every method possible on XDA I finally resolved my issue. I will update the first post just incase any others care or fall into the same dilemma I was in.
The LG Mobile Support tool would not download the firmware and it would NOT ask me for my IMEI to download it either.
So my solution....
***
Installed LG Mobile Support Tool then Installed the LG Drivers. (FROM HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
BEFORE I connected the phone to the computer. I opened the LG Mobile support tool clicked (Options on the top right).
When the dropped down opened, I clicked the (Upgrade Recovery) option. THEN, is when the prompt opened to ask me what my IMEI is.
Before I entered my IMEI, I connected my phone to the computer in download mode, then proceeded to enter my IMEI and hit OK.
This is when the LG Mobile Support tool SUCCESSFULLY downloaded the latest official LG firmware and installed it.
*** BE AWARE, with the phone connected to the PC, the prompt NEVER appeared to enter my IMEI.
*** But with the phone disconnected, the prompt came up every time. This might be the trick for some people.
*** with the IMEI prompt opened, I then connected the phone , entered the IMEI, then hit OK. BOOM HERPES....
Well I'll polish this up more later. I hope this works for every LG G2 Variant and not just the T-Mobile one (D801)

Thanks for the tip, but I really think I hard brick my phone, he just vibrate when the battery is on, when I try to turn him on just with the charger I get no response, my computer cannot ever reconize him. An since it's a national model there isn't much support for it on the internet (now I do regret getting him). I opened him to try force the reconization, but I don't find the force preloader mode test point and there is no way I can get a JTAG on Brazil.
TWRP Recovery Mode f*** me really hard this time.
Now if someone could help me finding the colo/kolo/whatever point on my phone I would really appreciated.

Am not much sure if ti is hard bricked since you sayed that it vibrates lets look how much characteristics of a bricked device of which it posseses so as to conmfirm that it is hard bricked.
Soft Brick - Struck inBoot loop
2. Super Brick - Stuck atflashing Factoryfs.IMG in ODIN . Also called as EMMC Bug
3. Hard Brick -Dead / Costly Paper weights
4. Dead Brick - No chargingbattery sign also - Mostly = Hard Brick; But there is a window of possibilityby a USB JIG for SamsungPhones.
5. OTA Brick - Encountereddue to updating OTA on a rooted Stock ROM
6. CM12 Brick - when CM12encountered a /data write error. Worst is ODIN Flashing Fails
7. Pixel Salad: This is a problemof the graphics unit or the screen which fails to display correctly the imageand put instead random colored pixels on some areas of the screen or the wholescreen. It’s hard to even let the other members know what you are facing sinceyour screenshots would be just clean as it would have been. This also requiresa need for hardware checking if reflashing ROM doesn't work.
Soft brick means a temporary problem, which could be fixed. Soft brick usuallyoccurs after installing custom rom(s) or incorrect installation procedure whichinstallation/manipulation of files like permission settings, erasing systemfiles that is not compatible with each phone.
SOFT BRICKED
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS TO MENTION FEW ARE
Phone struck on OEM logo.
Phone struck on a ROM logo "bootanimation"
The phone does not simply power up
or any other you can add up
HARD BRICKED
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS TO MENTION FEW ARE
· No signs that can turn on directly
· The Charging won't work.
· Phone not detected when connected to a PC
· The LED's do not light up immediately
· No Sound / Vibrate
· Your phone completely off (Paper Weight)
Simply put it cannot be repaired using SEUS, FLASHTOOL, ODIN or even PC COMPANION.

Even if it's not hard bricked I had no idea on how bring him into life again, since the only signal of life he gives me is the vibration with the battery on.
It could make my computer detect him it would be much easier.

Ow, one year latter I don't think this will help you anymore, but just in case someone has the same question: I didn't solve the problem, I took it to the Samsung assistence and discover that the motherboard was damaged, they would have to replace it.
Okay, so.. As the title says., my LG Optimus L5 won't boot... Yesterday I flashed a Custom Rom (Project L from Optima Team) and the phone was all good, working fine... But then at night, I turned it off, and putted it to charge... But, suddenly this morning when I was gonna turn it on, I pressed the power button and it wouldn't just do anything, the screen remained black, no vibration, nothing... And when it's charghing, the Open the Door logo (it should be LG Logo, but when I flashed that ROM Open The Door it changed the boot animation) keeps showing up and disappearing...
I really need help to get my phone back please :crying:

you can at least put in download mode? if so, you can become more quiet and follow the tutorial below. if not, sorry: '(
follow this tutorial for their risk account. I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone.
1 - download KDZ updater here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=420545&d=1287222698
2 - download the ROM stock of L5 here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=12
3 - download and install drivers for your model of L5. I can not help you this, because I do not know where to find them.
4 - put your L5 in download mode. the buttons that you will tighten to enter the download mode will vary according to the baseband that you are using. It is usually only holding one of the volume buttons (or holding both at the same time) and connecting the L5 on pc without holding the power button. remembering to do so, the L5 must be turned off before starting the sequence above.
5 - before opening the updater KDZ, install MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser (msxml.msi)
6 - after installing MSXML 4.0, run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe. in "type", leave cdma. in "phonemode", switch to emergency. select the ROM Stock in KDZ format and then immediately click launch software update. now is just wait. do not remove, under any circumstances, the USB cable. can take, but end wait.
I hope I have helped with this

I know how it is. You reminded me of when I wanted to update my Galaxy 551 in order to play a game that was not supported because it worked only on Android 4.0+ and my cell phone was with android 2.3.6. I had downloaded one CM10 for the G551 and I was flashing on samsung recovery. But when I restarted, do not leave the logo of Samsung. I was desperate. took to various techniques assists in a period of about two months and no technical assistance could solve. Then I decided to resolve on their own. I could solve the problem and now my G551 is still in my drawer because the touch does not work and this is due to flex cable corrupted. And think that all this trouble that I lived with my G551 was because of a game hahahahaha
Good luck in recovering your L5!
