I hope someone can help me.
On the screen with all the switch shortcuts (the one you pull down with a swipe) there used to be a switch to turn on or off Mobile Data.
It is no longer there and the only way to disable mobile data is deep within the settings.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

This is a well known and widely reported (in many threads) feature of the AT&T 4.3 (MK2) update as well as many other carrier 4.3 updates.

Either get this app or use Safestrap to install a ROM like Hyperdrive that has it included.

Actually, I have been running 4.3 since it was OTA on the first day, and the switch JUST disappeared yesterday.
That's why it is such a puzzler.

Thanks, that app installed as a system app gives pretty much exactly the same functionality.

It's possible IMS Settings could have that purpose, I've seen mention of it in regard to some T-Mobile devices however IMSLogger+ has no known function whatsoever, it's simply an app called logger that has access to everything you do and everything your id does in relation to your device. As far as I can tell there is absolutely no cost in disabling this application so until someone can identify a function that requires this to be enabled, it's simply common sense to do so.
Further, and I have no idea if it's relevant or not, but even it's naming convention is different from the other associated applications:
com.sec.ims 1.0
IMS Service 1.0
IMS Settings 1.0
com.sec.imslogger 1.20150211_LDM
I understand I'm offering an incomplete picture here, but our corporate 'benefactors' have a long history of being as shady as they possibly can be until they are caught and then they just try something else... Our data is a commodity resource to these people so they'll do what they can to acquire it.
In the end it's a question of trust. I don't, so I uninstalled it, but I wanted to pass on the information should anyone else want to do the same.
Another NSA feature for the American fellows.

I've seen one post saying it's part of Kernal Management and a normal function of the phone however I've seen a hundred posts saying the package has been safely disabled or uninstalled without any discernible impact on device functionality. If anyone has an idea what this app does, I'd welcome any insight offered.
Edit: Maybe not a hundred, maybe closer to 10.

If your country or carrier doesn't have VoLTE then you won't have it enabled on your phone, that's why you can't find it.
EDIT:
You can check here if your carrier has it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VoLTE#Deployment
So far it's only launched in Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, and USA. But even in those countries, only a few carriers have it.
Good old NSA must have had something worked out with Samsung. I bought mine in Hung Coc* as well and it too came with this IMSlogger as well that has and asks for every permission you never even thought about. No uninstall option either.
Every permission possible has been ticked by developer.

Silent Logging is not turned on by default that's why it's safe to disable.
From the looks of it, it logs diagnostic info from the cell modem. I think it's only ever used for diagnostic purposes though and is not ever turned on normally. You can enable in Service Mode or if you set system property dev.silentlog.on set to "on".
If you don't have any of the log files at:
Code:
/data/log/Slog_ril_xxxxx.log
/data/log/Slog_main_xxxxx.log (where xxxxx is the time the log got saved)
Or the config file at:
Code:
/data/slog/SilentLog
...then you don't have Silent Logging running.
As for IMSLogger, it doesn't look nefarious. It is for VoLTE though, so has anyone tried if VoLTE still work when you have IMSLogger disabled/deleted. Mind you, VoIP or Skype or any other IP/SIP over wifi or LTE is NOT VoLTE (VoLTE is specifically optimised for voice using IMS whereas none of the others are). So to test, make sure you are actually using VoLTE (and that you have it enabled in your carrier plan) and not some other VoIP solution.
It's LMS Logger
And it stands for LetMeSpy I found it on my phone as well
IMSLogger+ is used by Samsung engineers to get the processor logs and interfaces logs from the phone for debugging purposes. In Engineering firmwares it can export the IP traces in PCAP format and it has a nice interface to see all the VoLTE/SIP messages in real time. Basically it can log all the calls signalization, excluding the voice packets.
It's launched from the IMS Settings application that is used to customize VoLTE/VoWIFI/RCS parameters for each operator.
By default the IMSLogger+ doesn't log anything, Below you have a movie done from my rooted Samsung S6 Edge G925F that shows how to launch the application. I'm sure IMSLogger+ can be disabled without any impact to VoLTE. Maybe Samsung should have done it from the very beginning.

It appears there's no Samsung Find My Mobile settings on my S7 edge. There's no way to control/change Remote Controls, SIM Change Alert, and Reactivation Lock. I know there's alternatives out there but I actually like using this service.
On my S6 edge, they were under Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Find My Mobile.
Anybody find these settings?
Quick check of AT&T manual versus Verizon manual shows Verizon's manual makes no mention of the settings to enable this feature. AT&T'S manual does show the setting being present in the settings app security settings.
Samsung's "Find my mobile" web portal has a help feature describing how to tell if your device can be used with Find my mobile.
The Verizon variant truly does seem to lack support for it, since the options for enabling it are not found where Samsung's help feature says they will be on feature-capable devices.
You can go third party like Cerebrus or use Google's Android Device Manager to replicate some, but not all, of this feature's capabilities.
I'm sure no one will be surprised to learn that Verizon sells a premium version of their pre-installed basic VZ Protect feature that includes device location for a monthly fee.
I simply cannot believe the degree to which Samsung has agreed to cripple this flagship device's features to meet this carrier's demands. Were I the Samsung executive that handled these arrangements, I would have told Verizon they would receive no accommodations for device configuration that differed from any other American carrier and let them decide if they wanted to be the only major carrier unable to offer the device to their customers.

Once you set up your Google account you can't use the phone without the account info after wiping. Well unless you use one of the hacks, but they get squashed as Google releases new versions.

I do not have Enhanced Messaging as an option under my Messages settings at all. Is it there for you? It's been driving me crazy for hours trying to figure out how to get it to show up but it may just not be possible yet. My friend on Sprint has the option there but we compared versions of the app and he has 2.0.98 while I have 2.0.93. Maybe that's it?

What does enhanced messaging do? I don't have it but I can request a delivery report. Is that the same thing?
Not sure if this is just true for Verizon's variant or if it affects all S7 models, but my device has the old KitKat-style persistent notification whenever there is an active VPN connection, which was something that got removed from AOSP with Lollipop. An unpleasant visitor from the past, for sure.

Any idea in the enhanced messging for verizon yet because i cant find it
Quick Note before you start this - If you are on stable one UI 3.x / Android 11 or greater, see the bottom of the post to see the workaround. Thanks to @knuschit
Introduction - If you have ever bought a device that comes locked with the carrier you will see there are some carrier baked features missing in unlocked devices. While putting in your sim will change CSC of your device you might still not get all the features. So far i fail to understand why would device makers and Carriers make it so difficult for users. I have scourged through so many forums and found info like these where a t-mobile rep responds saying there is no way those features can be added to non carrier branded device ( Either a blatant lie or the reps are ill informed or both).
My Device - Unlocked SM-N986U1 with tmobile sim - CSC - TMB/TMB/XAA
Problem Statement- I want Video calling over LTE and RCS features.
Solution - Follow the steps carefully and also see the attached screenshots -
There are other ways of doing this by creating shortcut to ims service settings but i am posting something that most users can easily do.
Quick Pre-Check - Before starting if you have been using RCS on Google Messages you might want to de-register. Follow the process here: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat.
You can always activate it in case you want to go back to RCS on google messages.
This will only work if you are on Android 10, or the Beta version of Android 11. Samsung has blocked this on Stable Android 11.
STEPS1. Download and install Phone app (By google)
2. Open the phone App that you just downloaded and make it your default Phone app.
3. Dial *#*#467#*#*
4. You will see the settings as in my Screenshot 1
5. Tap on IMS Service Switch (The first Option)
In case you cant see the screenshot - Just tap on the first option IMS service Switch, Then make sure MMTEL Switch and RCS Switch is toggled on.
If you see below RCS Switch there is a section titled MMTEL
Sub-options of MMTEL are
VoLTE
VoLTE-Video
VoLTE-Call-Composer
SMS over IP
Supplementary Services
Called Dial Third Party Number
JUST TURN ALL THESE TOGGLES ON
Click to collapse
6. See the Screenshot 2 and move all the switches to ON.
7. Go back to main page and then go to RCS Configuration settings and make sure they are selected to be always on as in Screenshot 3.
8. I changed back to default phone app after this.
9. And done you should have the video calling over LTE to fellow T-Mobile users activated now.
I have already made a few calls and tested it and can confirm that this works. This might work for Sprint too.
NOTE THAT - Default video call on contacts is still duo. you have to make a regular voice call to a contact first then you will see the native video call icon.
These settings wont stick after OS/Firmware update via Odin, OTA or Sideload and steps would need to be repeated.
Edit Update -You can See all three screenshots together here.
Let us know how it goes here and if you explored any more settings and i will update this post with due credit.
WORKAROUND: SINCE THE ABOVE METHOD IS NOT WORKING ON ONE UI 3.X / Android 11The conventional method doesnt work on Android 11 so use the method below:
1. Install Alliance Shield X >> Create account and Give necessary permissions
2. Open Alliance Shield X settings and toggle New App Manager Layout On
3. Look at this post and follow
4. See the Screenshot 2 and move all the switches to ON.
5. Go back to main page and then go to RCS Configuration settings and make sure they are selected to be always on as in Screenshot 3.
I can confirm this works.

Yes it will and i can confirm i checked and it is working. I see when my friend with RCS activated is typing. So typing indicators are working a big sign that RCS is working.
To verify before you do any of the above steps open your default Samsung SMS app and go to settings by clicking on 3 dots on top right, do you see an option called 'Chat Settings' if not, once you have gone through the suggested steps above you will see chat settings activated meaning RCS working.

Thanks for confirming.
I did all this a week or 2 back to mine and my granddaughters phones.
I didn't do any kind of writeup because this info has been out there in the wild, just not overly shared because there are other options in that menu that can wreck your phone experience.
Glad someone did.
(Note to folks, don't go randomly changing things here if you don't know what they are and haven't been validated by others)
Since you did so good here, you should write a document for folks how to "update" using FRIJA and ODIN for folks with U1 devices. Maybe that'll cut down on the folks that complain that they can't get Month X security update because Carrier Y is slow.
I know how, but writing a document step by step isn't the same and I'm very bad at documentation.
