I'm planning to buy a device, which will allow me to mirror my smartphone or tablet screen to TV. There are two options I consider - Netgear PTV3000 and Nexus Q. However, the first one (in spite of frequent updates) allows only to stream video from limited amount of devices (I have only Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7 - first one is capable, but not with Cyanogenmod and second one has only 2.4GHz WiFi) and is not as cool as Nexus Q. What's more, Nexus Q is NEXUS - and so on it can (or should) be easily modifiable to extend it's irrationally limited functionality (only Youtube and Google Music - Google Movies is not available in Poland).
Is there any application, software modification and/or custom ROM, which could extend Nexus Q functionality not only to stream music and Youtube videos, but also to mirror tablet or smartphone screen to TV through Q's HDMI?
I just bought a Samsung 32F6400 tv, wich has screen mirroring that is designed to work just with samsung phones/tablets.
I turned on wireless display on my phone, it connects to the tv, and after that i get a 2-3 sec black screen on the tv, and then it says Screen mirroring off/disabled...
Did anyone get this to work on a samsung tv ?
problem with Samsung
I also have a Samsung TV 2013 edition and when I try connecting via miracast it says connected then the TV stops and exits miracast mode, however the nexus 4 did work with my freind's lg smart TV and my brother's note 2 worked on my TV so I'm guessing that the problem is with Samsung not the nexus. And I was using stocl android 4.3 ....:crying:
I'm hoping there's a port to make it work with Nexus phones.. Anyone?

you cant do that! your tv doesnt have the drivers to support the wireless lan adaptor... also your wireless Lan adaptor doesnt have some video output like miracast... so... your only option is to buy a chromecast or somenthing like that. :good:

You can do it.
first: after mounting the WIS12ABGNX Wireless Lan Adaptor to your tivi, you set Lan connection for it
then you turn on : Nearby Devices (In the setting) from your note and you samsung tivi requests to connect to your phone
then you play a video, and press the "Screen Mirroring" button on the stock video player
then you see 2 options, choose your tivi, and enjoy
Hello everyone , my name is Siddharth. I am new to this forum.
I was wondering if I could use Screen Mirroring feature on my Note 3 (SM-N900 , Exynos International model) to stream media wirelessly to a Sony Bravia 42-inch TV (Model: KL V-40S200A) with the help of a Tenda USB WiFi adapter (Model No. W311M).
The TV was brought in February 2008 so it's definitely not a Smart TV or has built-in WiFi. The dongle and was bought in August 2013 to the best of my memory.
It would really help if I could watch photos & videos shot from my phone without connecting those ugly two port MHL or even HDMI cables.
