And if so: is it working for you? And what apps are greenified on your nexus?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yes.
Yes.
Maps is a big one. It likes to run in the background and eat up battery.
im using, its working, and most my apps are greenified, besides a few root apps. i dont use notifications for any app besides gtalk and gmail, so i greenify all that i can. i also use an app called autostarts, which works well in conjunction with greenify
ya
I still don't know it's purpose.
Yolo
I can't get facebook message notifications even though I ungreenified them
I used to use it. Among the apps I Greenified were:
1. Facebook
2. Maps
3. ESPN Scorecenter
Although I found that WhatsApp and Viber woke my device quite often, I use them all the time so it didn't make sense to include them in the list.
In terms of effect, it did reduce battery consumption some. But then I figured I'd just be a responsible user and sparingly install apps and turn off notifications altogether if I didn't really need them (or use bookmarks to mobile web versions instead). If you really need all your apps, then Greenify is a safe choice.

The concept of turning off notifications altogether is good only of the app is properly written for it. For example Facebook.... Even if you turn off all notifications whatsoever it still creates wakeups.

Correct. Which is why I now use m.facebook.com instead. The Facebook app is a really terrible battery drainer.
I see maps waking up the phone quite often. But will Google now still work if you greenify maps?

I am obsessive when it comes to making sure that every app or process that can be closed/hibernated is before I turn my screen off and after I exit an app. So when I was going through everything I could hibernate I noticed that Chrome and the Play Store were noticeably missing. I have added the generic "Internet" app, which I am guessing is actually Chrome since that was the default browser, but I cannot find anything for the Play Store. I was able to Greenify it on my S2 so why can't I even find it on my S5?

Pretty sure Play Store is regarded as a system app and you need to install xposed framework to allow greenify of system apps. The option can be found under experimental features.
I already have Xposed installed and the option to Greenify system apps checked. I also have the donation version of Greenify. I just for some reason can't find the Chrome and Play Store apps to Greenify.

Just click the search icon then launch the Play Store and then add it to Greenify!

Thank you. I had tried to do that before but my notification kept disappearing but I updated my app and it worked this time.

Does hibernating the play store really do much?
To be 100% honest, I am not sure. I haven't run any type of analysis on my battery life to check. But I know that when it's not hibernating it pretty much runs 24/7 and that it opens just as quickly from hibernation as when it isn't. I figure that it can't hurt having one less process running in the background all the time.

Even hibernating the Play Store, it begins running again after a few minutes. At least for me.
You can use the wakeup tracker to find out what is waking it up and cut it off that way. I haven't done that because it usually only wakes up when I turn the screen on. I Greenify after I turn the screen on and before I turn the screen off every time so that doesn't bother me.

Nothing much could be done I guess this is the design feature of 5.0.1 and touchwiz for a smooth experience. . Check from app manager ..most of the apps are in cache process for faster response .. remember in android less ram means unused resource .. and worry only when crash happens ..and reason for crash could be anything ..even ad in a website .. try latest rom ..

Hello
i have just got myself a Note 4 and unfortunately it freezes pretty much every single time when i use Facebook. After a while the pop up shows that Facebook is not responding.
I have had a look online and found that some people have this problem which had Facebook preinstalled on the device.
Now, i am wondering if this would go away if i just install some custom ROM which hasn't got preinstalled Facebook.
The Note4 is a normal international version, not the Sprint or AT&T one
TIA

Try clearing cache in system>application manager>all and see if that helps ... it did with me after the latest update to facebook!
I have a similar issue when opening images on facebook it will give me a black screen and freeze. I have to close it and open it again.
I too have same problem with FB. I am on stock, rooted 5.1.1.
Freezes mostly when open external websites in FB browser

This morning after 5 Playstore updates error Huawei home : icons needs to be set back to standard... Respring off launcher error again, same problem ... This loops.. managed to get in settings , clear the data off Huawei home... Same problem, clean cache, same problem... Managed to get in to play store installed now launcher... Problem solved for now... I had Facebook Facebook pages beta updates, Google now app beta update en WhatsApp beta update... No Huawei updates what so ever... Anyone an idea or the same problem?
I have the normal working original no root or bl unlocked EU mate 9 on b136.
You might have luck opening "Settings" --> "Apps" and taking a look at that list of apps (maybe you'll need to activate "Show System Processes" (or similar, I'm using my Mate 9 with german localisation), but I'd try with the non-system apps first, as that list is shorter).
I had the same problem you are describing and the reason was the app "Ford Service", which had a completely empty name in the settings list of installed apps. After I uninstalled that app the launcher stopped from constantly reloading.
Maybe you have an app with an empty or "problematic" name as well, which forces the EMUI launcher to crash.
Oke oke ...Will check it... But what is Ford service ?? How did u find out this was the problem

I checked... No Ford service in this phone.

Coincidence or not I can tell you that the latest Facebook version was absolutely hammering my battery. It consumed 14% in just 1 hour while sitting idle. I was forced to uninstall it and I'm now using the desktop version via Hermit.
Funny enough now Facebook Messenger is going wild and I keep getting power-intensive notifications. I have to wonder what the heck is going on in the background...

"Ford Service" is an app for Ford drivers (containing information about local and general service phone numbers etc.). I suspected that you have another app installed, which might have the same problem.
Are you using the EMUI launcher with or without the activated app drawer? In my case (with the "Ford Service" app installed) the launcher only crashed when the app drawer was activated. Deactivating the app drawer stopped the launcher from crashing.
EDIT: Added a screenshot, which shows the app with the "empty name". As long as I had that app installed, the EMUI launcher kept crashing the way you described, as long as the app drawer was activated.
I using the app drawer... But no Ford service.
Indeed... All fb apps are going wild today...
I uninstall now all fb apps... See what's happening
Deleted fb FB messenger and pages manager ... All oke now... Default Huawei launcher working like normal

Same on My girl Phone, uninstalled fb messenger (with no Name listed under options->app) And now seems all ok....
Thx for the hint!
Guys, im having trouble with my app drawer too, no icons appear! I searched the Huawei Home apk but i didnt find the 6.3.47 which is the version the Mate 9 has. I will try uninstalling Facebook and Messenger and see what happens.
EDIT: The issue is still there. I really dont know whats the deal with this.
