[Q] How to make a flashable modem zip file? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am switching between LP and MM because of battery drain issues on MM. I have got a flashable MM modem zip, but for going from MM to LP, I only have the modem binary file non-hlos.bin that I need to flash via fastboot. How can I make it a flashable zip? I looked at the MM modem zip and see another non-hlos.bin file there, and then some cert and meta data. Is it simply replacing the MM non-hlos.bin with the LP non-hlos.bin? Thank you!

I tried that and it won't work... it flashed in TWRP ok, but when boot up I have no radio. ;(

As far as I know non-hlos.bin you flash it in fastboot

But there is TWRP flashable modem zip file for MM, so I wonder why we can't do the same for LP...

Hello,
Were you able to find a solution to this? I randomly lost my radio on MM and upgraded to Nougat thinking it would fix it. Can't seem to find any other flashable modem files.

I compiled the last set, let me see if i can come up with anything for you folks. May be abit harder as to my knowledge there is no flashable files out there for Nougat?
As for lollipop i believe i made one and it should be in my thread? If not drop me a line ill dig it out for you

Hi,
Do you think - can I extract modem, rename it to non-hlos.bin and replace it in your zipfile?
I can extract modem with dd or with flashfire app (raw, 63.8MB).
I have xt1572 reteu - last MM baseband -1255331...88.02 and want update to Nougat.

Need stock Modem for OP2

My network reception and wifi were working fine with the stock OxygenOS of OP2. I recently flashed CM12.1 rom, since then my 3g signal is breaking constantly and network reception during call has also gone worst. Issues with wifi too.
I cannot find a modem from stock OxygenOS available anywhere. I cannot even find the method to retrieve modem from a ROM. If anyone can point me to modem from stock OxygenOS then it will be great. Even if anyone can tell me how to extract a modem from a rom then I am happy to do it myself. I have the stock rom as well as its nandroid backup.
Did you clean flash?
Isn't a rom problem?
Try to flash full zip they have modem files

I did clean flash and installed full rom. It has the modem from CM12.1. I want to try the modem from stock OxygenOS in CM12.1 rom.
I dont know if cm include modem I think doesn't,
From stock full zip there's the modem NON-HLOS.BIN.
Fastboot flash modem no-hlos.BIN
Should work to flash the modem, wait for someone more experienced to confirm this.
PD: For full rom I mean stock full oxygen os rom.

Your right with the non-hlos.bin that will flash your baseband again. You can either fastboot it, create an updater script so you can flash it in recovery or you can be lazy like me and just download somebody's else's baseband zip, unzip it, replace the the non-hlos.bin with the one you extracted from your OOS rom, rezip and then flash in recovery.
You could also reflash OOS rom then flash cm back and that would do the same. As it was stated above cm doesn't flash baseband file but your radios might have become corrupted somehow. It happened to me on my mi3

Please correct me if I am wrong, non-hlos.bin is for LTE band and modem.bin is for 3G band. I can only find non-hlos.bin in the OOS rom. That will fix only LTE band.. right?
And as you suggested to replace the non-hlos.bin in the existing flashable zip, will it work with the zip of other phone models too? As I cant find any radio zip for OP2.

It should be all bands. My phone doesn't even have LTE and I changed my baseband with the non-hlos.bin
For your second question if the zip only has the non-hlos.bin file in it your replacing it should be fine as that's the only thing flashing the rest is just the directory path to updater script.
If you don't understand what I'm taking about ask somebody here if they will create 1 for you or if you zip the non-hlos.bin file and post it so i can download it then I can make you 1 in the next couple of days.

If you download for different device modify the updater script with device name, or completely remove the check

Good catch. I had forgotten to mention that and the one I used had it already removed so it completely slipped my mind. [emoji106]

Thanks guys for helping. I will try to do it myself. If I am unable to do it, I will post the file here.
I am not able to connect to 3G ( WCDMA - Airtel 3G - India - A2003 ) network at all! It always says it can't connect to the network! Any way to fix?

After MM WiFi NOT Working on Stock 5.1.1

After testing MM build, WiFi will not work on stock 5.1.1 build. I've tried TWRP Restore, I've tried "Return-to-stock-Tool", and I've tried XT1575 "Pure" Stock Unrooted TWRP backup found in Development section.
In settings --> Wifi --> flip WiFi switch and it turns on and right back off. This is only happing in Stock 5.1.1 build.
WiFi works fine in AICP ROM...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Have you made sure to flash back the original modem from 5.1.1. If you still have MM modem then it definitely won't work on lollipop

Using the "Return-to-stock-Tool" would flash the 5.1.1 modem, wouldn't it?

You need to flash the modem again after you flash the "Restore-to-Stock-Tool"
You will find the modem in the Tool folder (NON-HLOS.bin)

need modem firmware for moto xt1641

I did a full wipe and loaded stock recovery, ATHENE_MPJ24.139-23.2_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC, before unlocking, rooting and installing custom rom.
I installed RR-N-v5.8.3-20170523-athene-Official.zip and everything was looking fantastic, until I realised my modem baseband was at 32r, when it should be 62r.
reception is non-existent.
Looking for a way to flash just the modem firmware, but haven't found any mention of it being done. Can't even locate a modem zip file to flash.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Is it possible to flash the firmware of an S5 from a different region?

I recently purchased a Galaxy S5 model (SM-G900L) and want to flash it with the (SM-G900I) firmware. Is this possible using only Odin? No root etc?
Thanks
NO. It is not possible.

Will it just not accept the firmware or will it cause problems?
It will not accept the firmware. And if it accepts it, then all sort of problems will come. Not now, but at a later date.
It is possible. Install TWRP. Make a zip from the original rom and install it as a zip by TWRP.
Tool to create zip is:
Assayed Kitchen
Im Using the G900F Rom for an G900T3 Phone.
But you can't flash another modem, firmware or modem from another phone.

I am not so much worried about the modem it's just that the L I bought has tonnes of Korean text in places I can't change along with the apps that have no relevance to me. Flashing it with the Aussie I firmware would be really helpful just to remove that stuff.

I don't know what L means? Is it Quadcore Snapdragon?
You can't damage your phone by flashing the firmware via Zip in TWRP.
The worst case is to install the Original Firmware again.

Sorry I was abbreviating. L as in SM-G900L as opposed to SM-G900I.
You need an unlocked boot loader to use TWRP right?

Yes, you can do it by installing the correct version of TWRP by ODIN.
Maybe you'll have to acktivate the OEM Feature in the Developer Options first.
