Looking to root my g928P, I want to increase my battery life and non buggy. What kernal and rom would be the best combo for my needs? Does anyone know if there are any apps like vipersounds to increase sound over Bluetooth or headphones?

Just wondering if any one would like to know how to enable the flash even if the battery is low? i have been playing with the registry and need some testers.
Thx
Ok so first of all I have searched for these problems and cannot seem to find anything that will fix them for me.
I am currently using darkstones's SuperRAM Froyo v1.5 and I'm loving it. However there are a few little niggles that I am hoping someone can help me clear up. They are as follows:
1. Battery drain -every possible option that will save battery has been set but still the battery will not last 12hours, with moderate usage! Is there something I can do to, perhaps see me through a day without needing to charge?
2. Poor audio quality - when playing music through the speakers it sounds awful, any sort of bass on the track results in it sounding distorted and crackely. Is there a fix available?
3. Lock screen controls - is there any way I can get lock screen controls for my music?
Other than these couple of things I would say that darkstone has cracked it with his build. I am no expert, I have recently just come across to the HD2 from another HTC Andriod build but in comparison this version of Andriod is so much better.
Thanks in advance.
Luke
Formatting or using another sd card may solve problems 1 & 2, can't promise though. Do you have these problems with other builds too?
About 3: Sense and Cyanogenmod based builds have decent lockscreen controls.
Many thanks for the quick reply Stephen.
I have tried the format route and it has not worked. The battery I have no idea about, but my phone cut out it now due to no battery however my gauge was advising me I had 20% remaining.
The sound I'm thinking the levels were set to high during the build and so may just be a bug. If I use at reduced volume its fine but as soon as I turn it up it becomes distorted, same for ringtones and call audio is somewhat tinny.
Can you recommend a decent Sense build?
Cheers

I've searched around these forums and read up a bit about the different ROMs and kernels. I'm no power user. I won't be playing games or downloading tons of apps. What apps/roms/kernels should I get to optimize these features in this order?
Calling
battery life
texting
speed/responsiveness
sound quality
connectivity
Thanks.

Calling: I recommend Dialer One. Its free on the market.
Battery Life: I would turn off auto sync and would only leave wifi on when using it. Adjusting screen brightness down will also help with battery life. Also, any widgets that use an update service will use battery as well. Turning off notifications and automatic update services in apps helps too.
Speed/Responsiveness: If you're comfortable flashing custom roms than the CM6/7 roms cant be beat for speed. Also an alternate home launcher can help out here too, I prefer LauncherPro (free on market), but Go Launcher EX (free) is also an excellent launcher and is a little more up to date.
Sound Quality: The CM roms come with a built equalizer.
Connectivity: While I dont have any connectivity issues using the custom roms for this phone, there are people that do...
BUT...at the end of the day, the stock rom is whats suitable for 99% of the population and if you're not wanting to ever have any issues ever, than I'd recommend staying stock.
I want to listen to music for a long time while travelling soon, whats the best rom and kernal for doing this.
I tried hells kernel and it makes a strange noise to my music when the screen is off occasionally
But any tips on getting best battery life while listening to music would be greatly appreciated!

I love paranoid android and the stock kernel. Gives me a screen on time for 5-6 hours. Plus since you're listening to music, you could always use the volume keys to skip songs, thereby even increasing your battery life since you aren't even turning on the screen.
Another good kernel was Franco kernel. Can't go wrong with this guy's kernel. You have PLENTY of features in his kernel to tweak battery life including undervoltage, set clock speed, turn off cores, governers, etc.
Hope this helps!
no such thing.
and "best kernel" threads are not allowed.
As said above, we do not allow these threads.
Please head over to development and try the best combination for you..

Do custom ROM's and kernels affect the WiFi performance in any way?
If so then what would be the best ROM for WiFi performance.
I've recently switched to Euphoria OS 1.1 and I've noticed that I often get disconnected in online apps.
I'm thinking it has to do something with drivers like Viper4Android.
Just like Viper4Android increases music quality then there possibly exists a driver that increases the WiFi performance?
EDIT

I've looked around a bit and I found an article explaining that the kernel is the host to the WiFi Driver.
Can anyone confirm this? If so what kernel would be the best for a jfltexx/i9505?

The kernel controls the hardware of the phone. It's actually the bridge between hardware and software.
Yes, a kernel can affect the functionality of your WiFi (if it turns on or not) but I don't think it has an effect on the performance or quality of the signal.
Battery saving mode reduces background data. When the screen is turned off, the connection is cut. So if you're using it, stop, unless really necessary.
