Stereo mod - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, anyone maybe tryied to make sound mod like on 1+1 with stereo speakers (second one: earpiece)? On Oxygen or CM12. Really missing stereo from my M8/M9.

The second one is mic

I'm talking about top one, not second bottom grill.

Bumping an old thread, I'm trying to make it work under Slim 6, but the mixer paths is confusing compared to the Galaxy S4 (check my signature). Even the mixer paths from OPO is kind of confusing, but still clear enough to determine which pathname is used

[Q] Backspeaker "noisy" quality after update to official Android 2.3.5

Yeah, like description says: That "new" noise from backspeaker is full of junk. I've tried a few different players and equalizers with no luck (And it feels like that overall quality of sound from phone is lowered from what it's used to be)
Is there anything that we can/could do to improve of the quality of sound?
also experiencing that
Got an idea: is it possible to use old sound"driver" to get back better sound to backspeaker?
I don't get it, why Huawei didn't put any options to backspeaker...
Also very silent in calls sound
Trying to find solution to this
Lets bump this thread.
So, I've found "solution" to our problem:
First, install Equalizer from Play Market. It works simple: after you have set your equalizer and want to enable it, press home-button. If you don't want to enable it, press back. There is that "legendary" 5-band equalizer (yes, there is also bassboost and virtualizer, but the main point is at the equalizer). You can adjust it until it fits to your ears Just to mind you, the first one is bass, and the last treble (from up to down). Those three which are in middle, are for middle sounds (obvious, really ).
That should fix the sound quality of a backspeaker.
For example, my settings:

Hardware modding

https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/OnePlus+2+Teardown/45352
Looking at this teardown, there is only a single speaker in the oneplus 2, but seems like there is enough room for both. Would it be possible to add another one and solder it to the same contacts?
There is no point doing something like that. Still not stereo and the volume will split in half.
@zapee995: Probably not without some modifications. Sure, not stereo and I don't recommend soldering another speaker. But:
If you raise the value RX1 from system/etc/mixer_paths.xml it probably could work. Like I said: I don't recommend it. I altered "RX1 Digital Volume" & "RX2 Digital Volume" (at top of the file - root required!) to 90, because my headphones were *cough* a "bit" quiet - even at max value. And I don't have cheap ones. After doing that, they went fine.

Volume balance between speakers

Anyone else notice the bottom speaker is louder than the top one? Also I notice more bass from. The lower and more treble from the top one. I am wondering if these speakers are not physically matched. They may be different than each other. If so it would be nice to modify the audio levels in alsa or whatever sound mixer MM uses.

[help] stereo mod

Yeah I was also thinking the same
I could be wrong but I can't imagine that there would be any improvement in sound from that little ear speaker. The speakers are also so close together and of different size so i doubt it would give a stereo perspective unless you're right in front of the screen.
I have googled alot for info on both modem and dac used for 7580 board but couldn't find any data for it anywhere. Any one knows what DAC is used?
All I know is that exynos use some low power audio subsystem so that the main core and memory block can go into sleep mode.
Anyway, I've downloaded the modded and original files for s6 to see what changes have been made.
I'll see if I can find any way to edit our xml's to get sound out of that speaker, when I get time.

[PX5] [DSP] Absolutely terrible audio quality even with Viper4Android

So I have a PX5 head unit equipped with DSP and I've tried tuning the sound with the stock 36 band dsp equalizer and installing Viper4Android. I've tried multiple IRS files but I still can not get a good sound setting! Either the audio sounds like it's playing in head phones, sounds like it's in a can or there is way too much bass and it muffles out the rest of the music. I've also had problems where the bass causes the volume to dip up and down. Other issues include configuring the direction of the audio, the tweeters work but sometimes it sounds like audio is only coming from the middle back. I'm running stock 2009 Honda Civic speakers which used to sound really good with the stock radio.
I'd really like to know what settings you guys have for your audio and how it's working out. If it persists I might just have to revert back to the stock head unit.
Sounds a lot like you have something wired wrong so that the polarity on one side is the reverse of the other side. Start by setting the fader to front only and see if the sound improves then try back only. If there is an improvement check that the speaker wire harness is pinned as per the label on the radio and that the wires go to the correct terminal on the speaker end.

Hi,
If I set it to only the front it will play only from the front but I can not recreate that sweet spot that my stock head unit had. Either the sound sounds like it's too far back or too far front with no bass. It is very frustrating..
Of course you wouldn't want to listen to it with the fader all the way forward or back! That's only so you can figure out if there's a speaker wired backwards and which one it is.
Anyone have a good IRS solution? Or maybe there's a way to install Dolby Atmos?

And of course: Remove Viper4Android as soon as possible.
On newer versions of Android and these units it will only make your sound worse. It was developed years ago for Android 4, or something like that, and the latest "official" supported android version is 7. And for devices without DSP.
It is not "even with Viper4Android". It is "and Viper4Android makes it even worse".

So then how can I adjust my sound. The stock DSP Equalizer on my unit is dog ****. It has 32 bands Eq but no setting to make an adjustment to the bass. Is it possible to flash a different DSP Equalizer to my unit?
Bumping again #YOLO
