No "Reactivation lock" option in "Find my phone"? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all!
As of today I'm a proud owner of a new SM-928F unlocked S6 Edge+. All stock, not going to root or put a ROM on as I want to use KNOX, Samsung Pay, etc.
However, I cannot find where to set the reactivation lock? The option is missing and I have tried removing and re-adding the Samsung account. When you boot into Download mode there is no Reactivation lock flag either.
Searched everywhere, can't find the solution. Does anyone have any ideas please? Thanks.

Enable dev menu by typing 8 times on buildnumber in about device. Go to settings and menu at bottom is there. Dev options. There is oem unlock. Thats the reactivation lock

Sorry, I mean the reactivation lock where if the phone is factory reset or flashed you cannot use it without logging into the associated Google account, like with the Apple devices.
The OEM unlock is just to allow the unlocking of the bootloader for flashing purposes http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge-plus/help/oem-unlock-t3184879
The lock I am talking about should be within the "Find my mobile" settings as per the Samsung site here http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00038761/846737562/Y/
However it is missing..?

My sim free UK G928F is also missing the reactivation lock option in "find my mobile" Its good to know I'm not the only person with this issue.........if it is an issue

I believe you go to device administrators and enable it

Only Android Device Manager is in there and that's just the native Google functionality for remote lock/PIN change and tracking.
On Samsung, the reactivation option is separate, but nowhere to be found in this case.

Count me in! I have the 928T version and I don't have it either.

Same on mine anyone ever find where this setting is hidden?

your phone simple dont support it.
go to download mode..if you see
Reactivation Lock (KK) = your phones uses Samsung propriety (and ridiculously easy to bypass) lock. if you don't see this then your phone simply doesn't support it.
FRP Lock = means your phone uses Google's implementation of factory reset protection which is easily bypassed too.

helloo
i dont have it on my 928 XEF (S§ edge plus) but my wife have got it on s6 (920 xef)
what the **** ?

There is a solution for this here http://fleamerica.com/blog/91-technology/35-samsung-reactivation-lock-greyed-out

Reactivation Lock isn't turning ON after Lollipop Update

My model is the N910C with the exynos processor. After updating to lollipop I can't turn on the Reactivation Lock in the Security Settings. Every time I check the box and enter the Samsung credentials, when it goes back it is unchecked It is driving me crazy. I checked findmymobile to verify that this wasn't just a visual bug. It really stays Off! I 'm stock, not rooted and with no custom recovery of course
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Doing a hard reset isn't an option .
Maybe if I wiped one of the system's app data it would fix it. I tried to wipe the "Remote Controls" apps but it didn't do anything. HEEELP :highfive:
enroll the device at samsungknox and use the knox reactivation lock. much more secure anyway.

Not the answer I was looking for but thanks for your input. Do you mean to enable the "Turn on KNOX active protection" option in Security? It says it may affect device perfomance and this kept me from having it disabled.
yes it wont affect device performance.

How to "destroy" the Reactivation Lock on my SM-N910C ?

Well, there are some questions that I would like to be answered, so be patient with me. But first of all: thanks in advance for any kind of help!
I got the Note 4 (Modell SM-N910C - Exynos) with Lollipop preinstalled (5.0.1.). I rooted the device using cf-autoroot forom that post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/root-note-4-sm-n910c-t2977948
1. Question:
How come that there is no root file for the SM-N910C running lollipop (5.0.1) on the official site:
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
???
Ok, after rooting with the file from the post I restored all files and data (I mean App + Data!) from my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) using Titanium Backup. At first sight, everything seemed to be working just fine, but than I relized that there were a lot of apps which did not start, e.g. the clock-App, different settings, S-Note, etc.. ).
Question 2:
Could it be, that restoring the S4 Apps + Data replaced the native Note 4 apps with the improper S4 apps, resulting in crashing apps?
.. So I tried to initialize my note 4 again to ensure I got all the proper native apps. Using Kies 3 or Smart Switch PC (latest Firmware-Versions) did not work as they say "this device can not be initialized".
Question 3:
Is this error due to the Reactivation Lock?
.. So I downloaded the Original samsung Firmware (PDA: N910CXXU1BOE3)and flashed via Odin geflasht. After the first booting I had to reenter the password from my samsung-accout to "activate" the phone. And now, I can not root anymore (cf-Autoroot with odin: "Fail")
Question 4:
Is this error due to the Reactivation Lock? Or is the root file from the post wrong?
I then contacted samsung and tried different methods to deactivate the Reactivation Lock, but none of these methods workes:
- Recovery + Wipe
- on this site: "https://findmymobile.samsung.com/help/startupDeviceUse.do" : deleted the device and removed the connection to my samsung accout
- on my device: settings - accounts - Samsng account - mail adress - further Options - delete account
- settings - security - Reactivation Lock: uncheck the box and retipe the password --> but the box stays checked ALL THE TIME!
.. after all these methods the download mode still shows "Reactivation-Lock (kk): on"
.. So, what can I do to get rid of thad stupid Reactivation Lock and to root my device??
Again, thank you for all your answers!!!
When i remember correctly on the s5 was the same Problem. Solved was by go back to KitKat and then it was possible to deactivate the reactivation lock. And then flash back to lollipop.
Maybe search in the s5 forum for reactivation lock.

Problem SOLVED!
Just if anyone asks himself: the deactivation of the Reactivation Lock works the same way for the galaxy Note 4 like posted for the S5 before.
(original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/reactivation-lock-root-custom-rom-t3097964)
Just flash KitKat (4.4.4), register your samsung-account, deactivate the Reactivation Lock in the security settings and you're done!
Note: flashinf/upgrading to newer firmwares does NOT change the Reactivation Lock setting! Once deactivated - it stays deactivated!
A BIG thank you to the original poster of the workaround!
same problem here, 5.1.1 on note 4 n910c this version can't downgrade :/

Question about reactivation lock

Hi all,
Don't know if I'm in the correct place for this question, but here goes. I've been lurking for a while now and have become interested in the bootloader exploit that has recently been discovered for our phones. I read that reactivation lock needs to be disabled before you follow the unlock procedure. When I try to disable my reactivation lock in settings / security, I get an "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" dialogue. I'm on CVertigo 1's BS_FREE_Lollopop_5.0 which has Samsung account info removed. Would I need to flash a different 5.0 rom that has Samsung account info, and then disable reactivation lock prior to following the bootloader unlock guide?
Thanks for all you do.
yes

Can't root, reactivation lock enabled even with no Samsung Account

Hi,
I tried to root my phone using the instructions from this thread; I'm no expert, but I have rooted other phones previously, and I followed the instructions to the letter. Unfortunately, every time I get the error message "Custom binary(recovery) Blocked By R/L" on my phone.
I didn't initially know what this was, so I looked around a bit and it looks like it refers to the Samsung Reactivation Lock. Problem is, I just bought the phone today, I have no Samsung account linked to this phone, and the Reactivation Lock option under "Security" is turned off. I tried messing around with it a little, and found a few other very puzzling things. First of all, when I access the "About device" section of my phone, it says it's an SM-N910F; but when the phone is in download mode, it says "PRODUCT NAME: SM-N910P". I have no idea what to make of this.
Also, as I mentioned, when the phone is booted, the Reactivation Lock is unchecked (as it should be, since I don't have a connected Samsung account); but when the phone is in download mode, it says "REACTIVATION LOCK: On".
So I decided to try and connect my Samsung account, thinking that maybe if I did that, activated the lock and then de-activated it, it would stick. So I did the proper procedure to connect my account, I click on "Reactivation Lock" to check it, it asks me for my password, I enter it, it loads for a while and then it boots me back to the previous screen, and the "Reactivation Lock" option remains unchecked. I tries this several times, even after reboots, and for some reason it doesn't let me activate the option; other features of the Samsung account work just fine, so it's not a server or password problem.
Sorry for the long post, but there were a lot of weird things I thought I should mention, even though I'm not sure how much they're related to the problem. The main problem, as I mentioned, is that I can't root my phone because it tells me Reactivation Lock is on, but Reactivation Lock is off and I can't actually turn it on even if I try to. I have no idea what to make of this, I couldn't find any solution online, and I'd just like to root my phone so I can change the fonts (not like I need to do any major hacking).
I should probably also mention that the phone is on Android version 5.1.1.
I'd greatly appreciate any help you could give me.

I don't recognize that model number but I going to assume it is an SM-P580, which is different from my T580. Having said that, the FRP lock is also known as the "Google lock" and you can turn it off so long as you know the google account login and password used by the tablet. If you can still boot and logon to the tablet, enable the developer mode in settings and make sure OEM Enable is on. That disables the FRP lock.

Yes, it's a SM-P580. I apologize for not notating that in the post. The Tab A was mine but used by my former girlfriend, I don't have her login credentials so I'm stuck unfortunately.
Thanks
