thanks will have a look, why havent you rooted yet, quiet a few options now to root, had mine done in under 2 minutes, and yet am terrible when it comes to rooting.
titanium backup (can remove some useless stock apps: PostCard, Chinse Keybord, BBC playr ...; freezes some apps that you dont use: SE sync, TimeScape ..., and move apps to sd: XP games other than the stock one, FPSE ...)
busybox
adFree
sd speed increase (it really works!!)
To ad some more:
Screenshot apps.
Fontchanger.
Root explorer (filemanager).
Terminal emulater (changing/overwriting/modding/moving files in /system/).
Widget locker (does work without root, but gives you an option to work better with root permission).
Metamorph (don't know if it works on the XP or without unlocked bootloader).
Regards Dousan...

Nope you can download and install emulators from the market
as for the roms just put them in a folder where you can easily find your roms
No root required
I didn't root my xperia play yet but planning to root apps I use on my x10 are
Link2sd
Ad remover
systcl config
titanium backup

If you root you can delete a lot of standard installed apps, removing them safes battery life significantly in my experience.

Hello
Found an interesting tool on Google play today that can remove unwanted permissions that a non rooted user has to accept in order to install any app. its uninstalling the app when we edit permissions and then install it again. Not sure how this is working. Can any expert review and suggest if it is safe to use this application.

Thanks

Its working fine on my Note 2 (GT-N7100) on 4.1.2 ... but after i modify the permissions i don't see the application in my Google play "installed" section but can see in "all" section. so i am assuming it will not offer any updates incase the developer releases any update?
is there a way to deny specific permissions to a application and still able to update applications incase developer pushes any update ?
A friend of mine bought this phone, and he wants to customise the phone but without rooting the phone.
Is that possible with GravityBox / Xposed Installer / Xutilities ?
Thank you in advance.

You need to try it man, make a backup first of your keyboard before doing this. It works on touchwiz on s4,s5 but no idea on s3 cm based roms.
I just tried installing your apk but it disn't work for me. It said "app not installed". Do you know how I could fix this? (I assume I don't need root)

It needs root... you can't just click and install the apk. You need to copy the apk to system > priv-app and set permissions to both folder and apk and then reboot

Oke I'll try on an another device. My main one isn't rooted because I don't want to lose my warranty. (I already needed it twice)

Use root explorer. Permission is RW R R
Or simply see a youtube video that shows settings permission using root explorer... Best of luck..
Hi. I've added the playstore to the 9th gen fire tablet but it has an issue. I use auto apps like autovoice and autoremote and they arent working properly. They can send messages but will not receive any. For example, autoremote can send a message to a device but cannot receive it. Any ideas on how to fix it .

This is the problem from Google Cloud Messaging APIs. Can be fixed by using Xposed/Magisk module, breaking Amazon services or probably install a custom ROM/firmware like LineageOS.
Magisk from @topjohnwu has a root features.
Does that need root? The 9th gen doesnt have root access yet.

It does - which is why post previous to yours is ridiculous. Proposed solutions are valid - just don't apply to 9th gen devices (yet).
